Whoa! Thought I had entered a thread about worst films, not an anti-American rant. I agree that big-budgeted, Hollywood films tend to be skewed. However, lets remember that Hollywood movies are being made for the masses in America and need to be accessible to make money (or so the belief goes). I would also assume that the same belief is held in other countries, ie a film made in England would have a hero who is British. Bottom line though, bad films are bad films, no matter who the hero is.
ANGELIQUE: I would advise that perhaps you leave the cinema, re-visit a bookstore, and read up on your history. Every country, your's included, has instances of human right violations, bad foreign policy decisions, and general stupidity. Overall though, the US has done a pretty GREAT job at "saving" their country...we've taken a few blows recently, but we are still the home of the free. Also, we do not think we are "saviors" but we will honor our commitments, particulary in the fight for democracy and in support of our allies.
