Worst film

i thought the grinch was great really sweet, with all those little people with bunny teeth awwww! signs rocked, how can anyone diss that?but i have to agree with pirahna, that was bad! Being a media student, analysing films puts me off them so much. here are alist of films that my media studies work has ruined for me:
erin brokovich (i used to love that film before i studied it now all i see is womans picture, expressionist, realism blah blah blah (the only real interesting thing was that the real erin brokovich was in the film she played the waitrees in the diner!))
the insider (ok it wasn't a great film anyway so i'll let that one slip!)
bram Stroker (soprry STOKER) dracula (my media teahcer has some obsession with sex and talks about it in every film (apparantly the stake is a phallic symbol-confused?-so are we)
Vampire lovers (that was bad anyway)
Nosferatu-now that is bad (theres no sound cos its really old anyway)

I loved Nosferatu. I went to see it in the cinema with a live orchestra...well I say orchestra, there was a piano, violin and cello. Amzazing film though. Why (as a media student 😀) do you think it's bad carlyh?
 
i just think Hutter is really creppy, i know he's the protagonist, but he's creepy!!! i think it's mainly to do with my lack of appreciation for old movies i don't know why but i don't like them!!! sorry! although i've got to say that the make up for Count Orlock was got it achieved the effect it was supposed to have! i just reckon once you've analysed a film, the charisma wears off, becuase you can't stop seeing all the things you had to write about in your exam!
 
I agree with carlyh...I had an Ethics in Film class and had to write philosophical papers on Papillion, The Deer Hunter and Blade Runner (which used to be one of my faves)...now when I watch all I can think about is the religious symbolism that is supposedly in each one and it rather ruins the enjoyable viewing experience.
 
Blade runner would go in my worst films and so would a film you may not know about called the langoliers by Stephen King, what a waste of 3 hours.
 
Ah, I see what you mean carlyh. I watched Brief Encounters during a film course once...can't watch it now without seeing the gay symbolism that Noel Coward put in it. I tried to explain it to my mum, but she just didn't get it.
 
i know what you mean my mum gets peeved when i start syaing "they used this camera angle to make the character look vulnerable" she's like "shut the hell up yoiur spoiling the film!"

Awwwww. The Sound of Music isn't that bad...if you like Julie Andrews singing on a hill with a load of kids running around...ok, I've convinced myself....it's bad! 😛
 
Haven't seen either, I actually like the concept of Josey and the Pussycat, I was thinking about renting it someday, but if it is really that bad I won't? ... But didn't it start someone cool?
