Worst music

I think we can all agree on the fact that Buffy and Angel both had some AMAZING music...

That said, you really can't have anything with as much music as the shows had without having a few blunders.

What, in your opinion, was the worst music the show(s) had?

For me, I just finished watching When She Was Bad, and honestly...I think that end scene, with Buffy coming into class and sitting down with Willow and Xander, had possibly the worst music in 'Verse history. It was far too campy/Full House-y/After school special-y. I'm well aware that the scene was supposed to showcase a heartwarming moment between the three of them, but the music just didn't work for me, at all. Especially not for being on a show that gave us some really fantastic tune-age over the years.

I'm going with Warning Sign by Coldplay, in the episode Him. I don't know why, maybe using such a big band's song gave to that scene a "fan made video" taste that I didn't like. I don't like using big famous songs in tv shows, it seems taken from youtube.

But I do like the song!

[MENTION=8401]david4wt[/MENTION] dude, "Warning Sign" can go with anything. 😉 I honestly didn't have a problem with the song being used in "Him". It's such a beautiful song, so IMO, it makes that scene better. 🙂

Now, the only music that makes me cringe (besides the horrible music score [MENTION=10588]SlayerOfVampyrs[/MENTION] mentioned) was in the episode previous to "When She Was Bad": the use of the Buffy theme song while Buffy is charging towards the school in "Prophecy Girl". I mean, c'mon Joss seriously? It was so laughably cheesy that all the adreneline I should have felt had committed suicide. 😛

I generally think most of the music used in Buffy was bad though. Sorry!

I agree with all of the ones mentioned so far, and those pieces of music in Prophecy Girl and When She Was Bad are pretty much the only things I dislike about those episodes, making it especially annoying in both cases. Him I just tend to avoid entirely on rewatches...

Otherwise, I usually love the music in Buffy and have quite a few of the Bronze songs on my iPod, but there is one episode where the score always really annoys me...in Spiral, when they're in the camper van and being chased by the Knights. I'm not even sure why, but that music always just seems too silly and takes me out of the scene.

I have to agree with [MENTION=11317]Cast No Shadow[/MENTION], I think most of the music was pretty bad, especially when it was lyrics and not just instruments. I love the theme song though! Glad to see that everyone doesn't agree with me though, shows that it is a subjective thing. 🙂

I have honestly never heard of anyone who doesn't praise the music on the show. Not a bad thing to find people who don't, I'm just surprised.

I hate that damn music! Ugh. Haha I crack up whenever I watch the end of that episode because I just...can't believe they used it.

I generally love the music on Buffy, I have a lot of it on my ipod, I can't remember that Coldplay song (might be voluntary repression as I can't stand Coldplay 😉) but one song that I felt was misplaced was "Touched" on Angel (by Vast) in the episode "Lonely Hearts". I like the song but I just don't really get the placing of it in the episode and it just felt... weird. I can see why they dropped that format quickly. It just didn't work.
