The Scoobies or as Spike called them Angel Avengers?

Which group had it worse of? I reckon Angel Avengers. Angel lost Cordelia and Connor. Wesley lost Fred and Lilah. Then Wes was taken aswell. Fred stuck in Pylea for 5 years. Gunn losing his sister. Lorne ending up in a pretty bad place. The sun was blotted out. I could go on and on. Don't get me wrong The Scoobies had it rough, but I so think Angel Avengers/Angel Investigations had some pretty big blows.

Out of all the characters I think Wesley had it worse with his time on Angel. He got shot, had his throat slit, loss Lilah and Fred and then ended up dead himself.

EDIT: Other things that make Angel Avengers worse off; W&H, Angelus, The Beast, Wes stabbing Gunn, Gunn going to a hell dimesion, Lorne being knocked out more times than Giles, losing Doyle and the amount of times the group were split and the rifts and lies kept from one another.

Woaw, it's quite something!

On the other hand, if you take the Scoobies:

Buffy: died twice, had to kill her lover, saw twice one of her lover leave town, was brought back from Heaven, saw her mother die, was abandoned by her dad, was kicked out from her own house....
Willow: Saw her first lover leave, her second die, was addicted to magic and almost destroyed the planet
Anya: died, was left at the altar, was stabbed by Buffy, saw Halfreck die...
Tara: was brainwashed by a hell-bitch goddess, was brainwashed by her girlfriend twice and died when things were going fine for her

Yeah, that makes a lot for the Scoobies but you're right, it was probably worse from Angel's side!

*What happened to Lorne?*

In reply to you Chocoslayer concerning what happened to Lorne, it got to the point where he didn't see where he belonged, and he ended up doing one last thing, taking Lindsey's life.

Cordy had a rough ride with her visions too. Gunn was on death's door going into what we see as there last battle.

The fang gang definitely had a worse time in my opinion. So much death and destruction, and not a whole lot of pay off... No happy scene at the end where everyone realises that things are one day going to be okay.

Fang Gang, for sure. But the Scoobies had it almost as bad too. I said Fang Gang just because I cried when I watched Ats more often than I did BtVS.

What Cait said.

There was just a whole lot more darkness on Angel, not just around the characters but in them as well... everything just seemed to turn to ashes for them :S

Don't forget about Doyle's death and the whole Cordelia being impregnanted with Jasmine debacle. And compare the series finales: we're left with a lot more ambiguity in Angel. Buffy defeated the 1st & the Turok-Han army and created a new army of Slayers (yes, there are implications of that). Yeah, I'd have to agree that the Fang Gang had it worse off.

I already said about Doyle :P HA. He is a boy like me, lol.
Now that I've *almost* finished watching Angel, I must say, you guys were right: Angel Investigations had it much worse.

Each character had rough times!

Angel: saw his first LA friend die, was totally haunted by the demons of his past in season 2, was betrayed by Wesley, had to choose between letting his son die or go in Quor-Toh with Holz, saw Connor come back wanting to kill him, claiming that Holzt was his father, lost Cordelia just when they were going to admit their loved to each other, saw Cordelia coming back and Jocasting with his son and then being possessed by a hell godess who put Cordy in a coma; then he has to give up on his son again and lose Cordelia and then Fred.

Cordelia: lived in misery before meeting Angel in LA, liked Doyle but saw him dying and inherited his visionity, was impregnated by demons more than once, suffered physically from her visions, was even in a visionity-coma in To Shanshu in LA,had to become an higher being when she was going to say to Angel she loved him, came back with no memory then was impregnated by an evil godess, Jocasted with Connor, was in a coma and then died, but oh! big reward, she got to pay Angel a last visit!

Wesley: was tortured by Faith, was shot, fell in love with a girl who didn't choose him, did what he thought was right with Connor, had his throat slid, fell in love with an enemy, was left by his friends, had to behead his lover, still loved Fred who finally picks him but dies at the very begin of their relationship.

Fred: was trapped for 5 years in a dimension in which she was a slave, because her teacher sent her there, was poisoned by a psycho who "loved" her and thought she was worthy to be the vessel of a hell godess, who consumed her from inside slowly and painfully before burning her soul and walking around in her very dead shell.

Gunn: lost his sister and had to kill her, was stabbed by Wes and was prisonner in a Hell dimension.

I probably have forgotten stuff but darn, they did have a tougher time than the Scoobies!

Hmm, I always liked BtVS more then AtS, so I guess I love, and know more about Scoobies.

Buffy lost her mom and got a sister she needed to protect or the world will be gone. She died twice, she had to kill love of her life in order to save the world, the best father figure she had betrayed her couple of times.
Willow lost Oz, lost Tara, she wanted to destroy the world and had magic addiction.
Xander lost an eye, and he lost Anya.
Giles thought Buffy doesn't need him anymore, so he lost himself along the way. He also lost Jenny.

I think Scoobies had it more rough. :/

I also love Buffy more than Angel, but after watching Angel I thought that AI had it worse...But the Scoobies' grieves are way easier to relate to, they are...more real!
Angel was a much grimmer show than Buffy as previously noted but I honestly think Buffy had it worse overall than anyone on Team Angel.

What could be worse than being dragged out of Heaven?
What's more, being dragged out of Heaven and put in Buffy Season 6?

Give me Quor'toth anyday.

Although each time had to deal with horrible stuff, I think that, overall, Team Angel had it worse. On Buffy, all of the Core Four survived to the end. On Angel, Angel's the only one out the original four who was left intact at the end. Two had died and Gunn, though alive, was severely wounded.
