Worst/Saddest Ship Ending

I think that every time Bangel ended it was really sad, sending him to hell, Angel walking away, then in IWRY forcing Buffy to forget their time together. I think IWRY was the saddest out of the Bangel ship.

Another one that really touched me was Fred/Wesley. That ending was heart breaking.
Same goes for Tillow.

Giles/ Jenny and Wes/ Fred are definitely up there, as well as Willow/ Oz. But the saddest is definitely Cangel. They never even got together, and they LOVED each other. Angel actually loved someone that wasn't Buffy!

man this thread is depressing haha.

wes/fred
oz/willow
giles/jenny
buffy/angel
tara/willow

the deaths were horrific and traumatizing...but i also hate when people just walk away. when they're so right and it can't work. it kills me.

I never thought IWRY was the end of Bangel, so it was not the saddest scene for me. It was beautiful and poignant and tragic - but saddest - no way. I knew they will meet again and they sure did - and their feelings for each other were still there.

The saddest has to go to Wesley Fred. Willow/Tara ending was just too violent and shocking.

Giles and Jenny and Willow and Tara was such a sad ending, to break up with someone is heartbreaking, but to loose the person you love because they were killed could be soul destroying and in a way it was for Willow, it tipped her right over the edge and turned her evil.

Jenny/Giles was the saddest for me. I'm about to watch Passions too...a

Willow/Tara.

Fred/Wesley.

Wesley and Fred 🙁

In both series that one shook me the most. As other people mentioned, the destruction of her soul made it 100% more disturbing. But the Illyria/Wes moment in the finale got me bad too..

Cangel... Nuff said
THis message was too short, so apparently not "nuff said", lemme rephrase that, "I think Cangel was the worst/ saddest ending.

Fred and Wesley, period.
Willow and Tara had a tragic end but they also had a little under two years of a complex, redeeming, and life-altering relationship. Jenny and Giles has the unfulfilledness, yeah but their relationship was built over half the time that Fred and Wesley's was. And Giles didn't have to watch Jenny be happy with another man who also happened to be a close friend.

You make a good point, and not that I disagree, but couldn't it be argued that their "love" wasn't as strong in comparison as they didn't have a long and lasting relationship? One could argue that Tara/Willow had the saddest ending cuz they had so much relationship built up

I would say Jenny's death. Everything about it was brutal and sad and poor Giles, oh my gosh. 🙁

But I'd also say Tara's death. It was completely unexpected. At least with Jenny she had a chase scene, so you knew it was possible that something would happen, but Tara's death happened out of know where, and poor Willow was heart broken and didn't know what to do except to avenge her death. 🙁 And then at the end of "Grave" Xander talked to her and she finally broke down and it was just so sad. 🙁

I'm of the mind that what really haunts us are the opportunities that really haunt us are the ones we never took or could never take. Willow and Tara had the chance for a relationship and took it. Fred and Wesley never did because they couldn't.

Fresley and Tillow, Giles/Jenny too.. Death beats break-ups for me. Fresley might be the saddest of them all though..

Jenny and Giles was the most shocking, yes. But the saddest, to me, was the end of Bangel. They really loved each other, but they were doomed. Tragic love is always so... tragic... No one can really get mad at the other because it's out of their hands.

I think the worst ending though was Xanya. I really hated Xander for a few episodes there...

I can agree seeing how..when I think of it...the saddest ship ending for me is Cordelia/Doyle. It made me the most sad for the reason being that I liked the pairing best of any in the buffyverse. 🙁

So many sad endings, I think the saddest for me was Giles and Jenny, followed by Willow and Tara, Wesley and Fred (though this one simply because fred died. I was more of a Gunn and fred shipper).
