Worst Spoiler You Accidentally Got

To paraphrase Spike:

If everyone who said they had been with Buffy from the beginning, the ratings would have been like those for Band Aid (more recent than Woodstock!)

dammit i cant gave more karma to you, but I honestly cant imagine a possible better response.

It actually makes me want to go see S2 again just to see Spike re-introduced.

Hahaha - thanks
Well, Congrats! But if you're 18... wouldn't that have made you 7 or 8 years old in the summer of 98? I'm just confuzzled is all.

Yes. What confuses you about that?

I was 8, not dead. I can still watch TV when I'm 8. You don't need too much brain power to operate a television. Or a VCR, for that matter.

However, I really WAS with Buffy from 1998. So, I'm actually legit. Making your comment useless in my case.

True.. I remember being about that age and today I still remember almost everything that went down on WWF. xD

OK! OK! Sorry! In my "old age" I just can't quite grasp the concept of an 8 year old tuning in and comprehending Buffy. But it's quite possible that I'm just jealous, as I was a late Buffy Bloomer. Can I coin that term now?

Buffy Bloomer!! I love it. :)
*Warning* Spoilers inevitable! if you have not yet seen all of everything. 🙂

I'm sure a lot of you watched Buffy and Angel like I did, long after they aired on television. Though my cousin tried to keep me away from all of the spoilers, it's really hard to be an avid fan and do so. What did you wish you hadn't already known when you first watched?

The first two spoilers I accidentally came across while reading about Sunnydale on Wikipedia weren't too bad. I found out Sunnydale was destroyed in the end... but who didn't see that coming. The funny one was that I read about "Anya and Xander's wedding" and thusly assumed they got the happy ending I was yearning for. I'm sure my cousin had a hard time not smirking when I told her about that one.

The evil spoiler that did spoil a lot for me was finding out that Spike was a principal in Angel season 7. Shame, shame.

Is anyone else vaguely upset that the series are blatantly insensitive to giving away upcoming content in the show both on its discs and in the menus?

The worst spoiler I stumbled upon accidentially was about Fred's death. I was really pissed for days.

And I know what you mean about the disc menus having spoilers. That drove me batty when I was watching it for the first time. When I was watching Buffy intitially, I was really careful not to go on forums like this one or anything for fear of spoilers - but I got lazy when I was watching Angel and found out about Spike's return and also Fred's death. I'm watching Smallville right now and a girl in my class totally blurted out a major spoiler for S7. Ugh. I was like, thanks.

as a late comer to Buffy, i was running through the seasons pretty quick (shockingly quick). Before long i had read a review stating that Buffy and Spike were a couple and although to most thats a fairly minor spoiler, when your in late episodes of S2 and you hear that...its quite a freaking shocker. I wish I could have not heard it just cause I think it would have been great to experience that ride by myself... Having said that, evertime I saw Spike, it meant I knew there was sooo much deeper and it helped to to have a much wider view of the Buffyverse and the 'goodness' in demons from a very early stage despite that never really being explored until S4 and beyond.

I remember how shocked I was when I first saw Out of my Mind. That dream seqeunce at the end? I totally thought it was real. I was like, what? Huh?! They're KISSING!? What???!!!! How??? lol

how about being that i never watched passed mid season 4 of angel until about 3 or 4 months ago... Fred becoming Illyria, Cordelia dying, Wesley dying, Lyndsey dying... yup. mostly found out from perusing the boards, and id get mad because id stay away from angel discussions but sometimes it was BAM brought up in a discussion about something else with no spoiler warning, and id get sooo pissed. I wanted to forget it all because none of that was a shock when it happened and i wanted to experience it as i should have. blah.

Oh, and i was 11 when buffy started and i watched it. i comprehended it all just fine!

For me back in the day is was finding out about Tara being killed off. I actually told a lot of my classmates about it and they were shocked.

The second one had to be Cordy dying in Angel, I found that out on E! but didn't believe it and then saw the episode and just thought "Crap she was right!".

I got (and get) spoilered all the time. I blame Cangel, cos, you know, I would walk into her room when she was watching some episode I hadn't seen yet, all the time. Also, I first watched s6 and 7, so all the main things (Angel going evil, dying, being ressurected, Spike going good, Buffy dying, twice.. and so on, and so forth) I already knew when I started at the beginning.
With Angel, I'm more careful, but then again, I've already seen s5, so the whole Connor thing, for example, is no news for me. And being online here, hasn't helped either. Now I know the general outlines of what will happen, but I'm staying as far away as possible from the details. Or at least, I'm trying.

Also, on the subject of spoilers, those little descriptions on each season on here, they give away alot, right? I know there are people here (like, let's see... me) who haven't watched everything yet, and it's difficult to avoid the main page..

I have never been spoiled for Buffy..Not anything I haven't asked for....But I have been for another beloved show of mine.

Avatar the last airbender XD I got a spoiler for the grand finale, by accident, and I just screamed NOOOOOOO. I've never been so disappointed. The finale was great, but when you know what happens, it kinda takes off the whole exitement.

Is there a reason you started at s6? Did someone suggest it, or was it just convenient?

Maybe you should get on that!

I'm always spoiled because I'm always trying to keep other people from being spoiled...I'm sure it was probably Buffy coming back from the dead. But I'll have to think about that some more I guess. I remember when Darla came back pregnant I posted on here telling people if anyone spoiled the UK people on it they would be banned from the board lol

The actual worst spoiler I ever got was who won the World Cup in 2006. I was working at this concert festival and we had to work during the match, so me and my boss set up this big party afterward and someone recorded it and then we projected it on the stage. And this douchebag volunteer guy thought it was funny to tell me who had won. It wasn't funny at all. Not at all.

I hope you chopped his nuts off!
Oh wow, I don't really know... I didn't like BtVS when I was young (I WAS YOUNG!!) but I used to buy these TV-shows-realated magazines and I read the Buffy reviews, so I knew that Buffy died, Tara died, Willow went dark, etc. etc. I knew one or two things about the three first seasons (though when Xander/Willow happened, it was a total shocker to me); I knew nothing of S7 though. But those were the easy kind, cos when I started watching I didn't blame myself for reading this up a few years before.

As for Angel, the same goes for a little bit of S3.

I think the worst spoiler I got was Wesley's death. I didn't know it at all, and I had watched every episode but the finale which I was planning on watching ONE HOUR LATER. I was on these boards and ... well ... I got spoiled. I felt sad that my last Angel experience wouldn't be as great as I thought. But well.

I was ANGRY about how I was told about Tara's death.
The worst part about all of it was that the idiot thought it was funny to spoil it for me ! !

GRRRRRR

...I'm okay now

God I hate this kind of people!!! Support karma!!

Well, it just sort of happened. The first eppy I watched with Cangel was Something Blue, but then she told me about OMWF, and I wanted to watch it and then we just sort of continued from there on.

Also, on the subject of spoilers, those little descriptions on each season on here, they give away alot, right? I know there are people here (like, let's see... me) who haven't watched everything yet, and it's difficult to avoid the main page..

Unfortunately, I can't do anything about that, apart from looking at the Buff with big puppy dog eyes ^^

And i just remembered what was probably the biggest spoiler I got, not Buffy related though. Someone told me the end of Harry P. 6 (You know, where a certain someone dies and everything). I think I sort of threw something at the person who told me (strangely, I can't remember who told me)

My friends had cable tv so they were a season ahead of what I was seeing. I was in the middle of season 3 of Angel, and they were in season 4. I overheard them talking about Connor coming back as a teenager and sleeping with Cordelia. Luckily, I haven't had any really big spoliers about season finales or anything. I watched the shows on tv before they came out on dvd, so that makes it easier not to. Still happens though. I need cable tv too. 😛

It was Sky One for me. When season five of Buffy was airing I didn't have the net or any access to spoilers really so I was blissfully unaware of the fact that Buffy was going to die at the end of the season. Sky One, in their infite wisdom, when they were advertising the The Gift had the last two final shots of Buffy diving off the tower and then the closing shot of her grave.

I mean...how could they think that was a good thing to do?

I remember that! What a stupid idea that was.
When I watched Buffy properly all the way through, there were a lot of things I didn't know.
I stupidly went on the internet and I ended up finding out about pretty much EVERYTHING. I was up to about season five at the time and I found out about every death after that & the destruction of Sunnydale. And half of the things people actually told me. It ruined a lot of things which would have otherwise been surprises.
