Ok... I know this is a strange question. I have been trying to watch Angel since it began and I did watch the first few episodes. Well my friend LOVES Angel and I love Buffy.. She keeps telling me that the story is getting really good, so my question, Is Angel really worth watching and does it stay true to Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Because the plot sounds really good right now and if worth it, I might check this out!
 
I'm not sure, but in the long term, I think Angel has more potential than Buffy!
 
it stays true to buffy, in fact there are many reference to buffy episodes with angel, cordy or wesley

and the storyline as of today... is truly amazing
 
I think Angel is far superior to Buffy. Don't get me wrong, Buffy is a great show, but I think the writing is far better in Angel. It's just a lot smarter and more clever.
 
Angel is certainly worth your time. I didn't watch it at first either but I got some free time during a vacation and started downloading episodes from Kazaa. Next thing I knew I was even more hooked on it than Buffy.
 
Angel's episodes get better and better. I would say give it a shot, or two, and you will be hooked.
It's not the sort of show where you have to watch every single episode to stay on track, but if you do, it makes the experience worth while.

Each episode is carefully marked and told well, and the suspense is amazing. Watch the last few episodes and you will see why.
Does it stay true to Buffy? In a way. There are a few references made time to time. But I think the show stands on its own very well now, and Joss Whedon and the writers have done a stupendous job this season.

I would say yes, it is definetly worth a shot.
