Wouldn't you just love it if everyone here on Buffy-Boards could get together in one place and meet eachother in real life? I know there have been previous threads on this and some people have actually done it but wouldn't that just be so cool? haha, just post your thoughts🙂

Of course it would be great. The only problem is, how on Earth can you get everyone from here to the same place? We're worldwide. Most members are probably from either America, Australia or Europe. These 3 are really far apart, it would be too expensive to meet. Hell, even an only Europe one (or Australian, American) is hard to acomplish.

There have been quite a few successful meet-ups in the past. But all of them were localised; central UK, NYC, somewhere-in-Sweden-can't-remember-the-exact-place. It's impossible to get thousands of people from all over the world to fly to one place for this kind of thing. If you can even get them to come, you would have to arrange sleeping accommodations and a venture for the meet-up to take place in. Something like that is just not possible. But if you do want to meet up with a couple of fellow BB-members I suggest you try to search for members that live near you.

It would have to be regional gatherings, but there's no reason that couldn't be done. Just have all of the people in, for instance, the Southeast U S, get together and decide on a time and place, maybe on a holiday weekend or the anniversary of a significant Buffy event (premier, final show, Buffy's birthday, etc) preferably far enough in the future to allow for everyone to make plans.

Yes, you can all come to my school and annoy everyone with our wonderous Buffy facts 😀 :lmao:
On a smore serious note, my Mum would never let me leave the country for something like this 🙁 It's a sad fact, but I just wouldn't be allowed.

I'm sure somebody present would post pictures and brag about it just to make all of the other board members jealous.
it would be nice but it would have to be a regional thing...unfortunately it would be way too costly otherwise...but regionaly could be done...if anyone wanted to get serious about the idea we could set up planning comitties and such. You would want to have some sort of entertainment so it would have to be centralized around an event or outing I am guessing because planning a reception or dance might just be way to expensive however....IF each region decided on a charity to donate to we could hold a fundraiser and invite whenodverse cast mates...it would take at least a year but it can be done. For example...

we chose Saint Judes children fund or something... We would have to get the organizations premission first...

then we invite cast members to maybe play in a sotball tournamite...we could invite local celebrities or auction of a position on the celebrity team and the opposing team. We charge $10 or $15 per ticket to the game

then we hold like a meet and greet autograph signing...and set a price for those tickets...keep in mind we would have the costs of flying the celebs...rooming and feeding them and the costs to rent a field (though that shouldnt be too much prak and recreational permits are usually pretty cheap) and the use of a hotel or banquet facility (often times banquet facilities give discounts to charitable events) and such...those would have to be covered first! anythign we made from from auctions and ticket sales would be donated to the charity. Or we could go one step further and set up our own charitable organization. I keep saying charity because often times celebs are more willing to donate their time to help a cause. Also something else to consider is that often times we would still have to pay the celeb for thier time. Not always but often times. I will talk with my friends from Days and find out if the events they have participated in paid them? (yes I know quite a few cast mates on days, 2 in particualar I would call a friend I mean email penpals mostly but yeah)

we could always do a question and answer

and then a really fun thing would be a joint dance and karoake party after all is said and done. so cost for a DJ. Cost to rent ballroom. No food...cash bar. to cut cost...hotel would have to have a restraunt for those that are hungry. Dance tickets could easily sell for $90 or more...

we could sell sponsorships...we could sell VIP passes to all events...we could auction of the celebrity signed game jerseys...ect...its just we would have to be established as an organization first their is alot involved the person planning in each region would have to be living locally. But its just an idea if anyone would be truly interested in meeting and wanted to do the planning all on our own. Though it would be much much easier if we could plan around an existing event...and hey we could always do something like going to a theme park instead too. Just ideas. LOL

All your ideas are awesome, but I doubt we'd all ever be in the same place =(

I know, its impossible, yes. but I do love to think of ideas of what we would do and all! Its just so entertaining. i can see all of us marching into my school and annoying everyone with our Buffy-ness! haha!!!

Bof has just reminded me of something else. We have at least some underaged members (I don't even know if I'm underaged in other countries....here in Germany you become of age with 18, so I am, but no idea how it works in other countried), could they participate at all? I mean, even if parents did allow for them to go to another country or even continent (which I doubt, my parents wouldn't even let me go to online meetings in Germany), would that be even legal? A minor alone, without their parents, in a strange country?

Or we could have a conference call over a webcam. But there would be no real fun. We'd all too distracted by VG's big-Cordelia-head. 😛

It'd be lame to meet up with people you met on the internet.
Lame and disappointing.

Not necessarily. I met up with a guy I met on the Internet once.

We're married now. Have been for 6 years.

I would just love to be around sooo many Buffy fans at once, it'd be awesome discussing verbally. 🙂 Also, you people are all so nice and cool and... Awesome!

That would be soo cool to meet you, people! yet...
Btw, am I the only Ukrainian girl here? If so, I don't even have anyone to spare offline Buffy-joy with...

I went to several different European countries when I was 17. I went through one of those educational travel agencies in partnership with the Girl Scouts, but I was technically "on my own" as I had no parent or legal guardian there to make decisions for me. You just have to make sure you have a passport and have all of your papers in order and stuff. Also, I think my parents had to sign something saying that the travel agency had permission to take me. My sister went to Italy on a similar trip when she was even younger -- I think she was 14 or 15 at the time. So yeah, it can be done -- and pretty easily, too. My sister and I had both been outside the U.S. by the time we were 18 whereas, to date, neither of our parents have traveled outside the U.S.

So... if a minor has the time, the money, and the permission, it's almost as easy for a minor to travel outside the U.S. as it is for an adult to do so.

But we don't all live in the United States. I remember when we went to Oxford some of my classmates weren't 18 yet, and they had to check in with the teachers at certain intervals. He even told us that normally they would have had to go with him everywhere, because for the duration of the trip he was in charge of them. And these people were 17, so I don't think such a meet-up could wouldn't cause any problems at this area.

Ok I'm putting my foot down...4 years time...BB's 10th anniversary we're all meeting up and partying like we ain't never partied before... now people I'm giving ye fair warning so no excuses..OR ELSE!
