Would Angel have been a better show if Buffy had ended in Season 5?

Just been thinking, what if Buffy had ended with her death, in season 5? Angel would have continued, and judging by the fact that all the Buffy characters returned for two seasons, then it would seem that they would have been more inclined to appear in Angel. Would this have made Angel a better show, if we'd have had more appearances of Willow/Anya/Xander/Dawn/Giles in the concurrent seasons of Angel?

Angel wasn't really made any better by Buffy continuing, but would the opposite have been true. Although I loved Angel, I would have definitely been more inclined to watch it if it meant I learned more of what happened to the characters of Buffy post the bitter-sweet ending in season 5.
 
Angel was good enough in its own right. It didn't need Buffy characters constantly popping up in it. Occasionally was ok, but too much and it would have gotten in the way of the main story lines of Angel

I think that it would have been better from a Spike point of view - if Spike before the Season 6 Buffy stuff happened had been on Angel, I think I would have enjoyed his presence there more. More of the "old" spike rather than post season 7 Spike.

I would have hated the show if a bunch of Buffy characters were constantly crossing over. Angel was its own show and didn't need to connect to Buffy
 
I don't think we would have seen a mass-migration of Buffy characters move to Angel permanently, but I think one or two would have joined the cast right off the bat, yes. And in all likelihood, guest shots from Giles, Xander and Willow would have been pretty likely.

I mean, to a lesser extent we saw that when Spike joined the Angel show after BTVS ended. He was very much an entrenched "Buffy" character, but there were still stories to tell for him and he was still popular. I thought his presence really added to S5 of Angel.

If Buffy had remained dead following S5, I think Spike and Dawn would have joined the Angel cast as regulars.

Even though post doyle's death, all three main characters were in fact buffy characters: angel cordy and wesley. For me personally, I would have loved to have seen more willow and faith in angel, and I think they could have fitted into the story-lines well and been believable members of the team.

Xander/Anya/Dawn would have potentially been good for an Oz like appearance in season 1, but not as main or even recurring characters.
 
The idea of a reality that involves Buffy being dead and me missing out on Buffy seasons 6 & 7 is too awful to really think about.

The one thing that might have been a benefit is that characters may or may not have crossed over, but the writers may have. I get the impression that as far as writing was concerned, Buffy got the "A" team and Angel got what was left with their penchant for weird story arcs that were off-putting and non-sensical.
 
I honestly don't think Buffy ending when it did or when it could have would've had much impact on the show other than yeah, there may have been more crossovers from Buffy characters but that's about it.
