I am both for Bangel and Spuffy. I think they both had their moments, but after watching the cookie dough scene in Chosen again today I was wondering do you think that if Angel and Buffy figured something out to the point that they could be together forever do you think that Angel would stay with her even if she was old and he was still young. I mean he is not young, but would Angel stay with her if she was not able to slay anymore because she was too old? Just a thought and wondering what you thought.

I think that is one reason why a relationship with a vampire would eventually fail. A man looking like a 20 something year old and a 60 year old woman... eh :s I don't think it would work after a point. But I guess anythings possible.

Love is love. I think he could understand that she will grow old and die. But i think Angel always loved her enough to still spend what years he could with her, even with that ultimate outcome. No matter how the aging process differs between them. And hey, when it comes to kids, adoption isn't out of the question (though i guess explaining dad's a vampire would be hard lol).

But yes, even if just the two of them, i think they would both stay together if they were 100% sure that is what they wanted.

I believe that IF they could make it until she was "elderly" he would stay with her through that.
But, I don't believe they would make it that long. Even if they could fix this nasty "loophole" with his soul. As mentioned before, Angel has some control issues and when things aren't going his way, he appears to take matters into his own hands and make decisions that involve other people without giving them a say in the matter. I don't think Buffy could ever handle that. She's very head-strong and VERY prone to liking to do the same, but never understanding when people leave her out of the loop or make decisions (even ones that DON'T involve her) without her having a say.

It may be why I'm a Spuffy fan. Spike was more of a "team player" and didn't seem to have much of a problem with including Buffy in most of his plans, even when he knew it meant she wouldn't be very proud of him. Angel doesn't do that. If and when he knows the people who love him won't approve, he sets out on his own. I think Bangel=death to one of both of them. Or at least a very ugly situation one day when Angel wants to handle something one way and Buffy prefers a different one.

YEA SPIKE!

Excellent points!!
Yeah I do think they could.

After all the Mayor stayed with his wife until she was old and died. Though she did apparently "curse him for his youth"!

Yeah, but Angel's less weird than the Mayor was!
and less diabolical. unless he's angelus, then i think he's just as diabolical. man, the mayor and angelus would've made a great comedy duo....

ok that was so off topic lol.

I think Angel would stay but I have my doubts about Buffy. She was pretty young when she fall in love and statistically young love doesn't work out. I always had a feeling Buffy would grow up and no longer need Angel and then she would move on with her life.

I honestly believe that if Buffy did ever actively come to that point where she was cookie dough and she decided Angel was to be her cookie-eating man the two could make it work.
In some way, Angel is *always* waiting for Buffy and the moment she said 'okay', I don't have many doubts that he'd seize the moment.
And Angel does love Buffy enough to look past the aging process, I don't think that would ever put him off. What might make him leave and not stay to the end is the knowledge that Buffy would one day die. I mean he always knew she had a likliness to die because she is the Slayer but that's different than dying of old age and maybe Angel wouldn't able to watch her go like that. That's the only way I could think of it not lasting.
Otherwise, their's is a love that really transcends that sort of thing- age etc I mean. And I doubt Buffy would curse him for his youth like the Mayor's wife did, but maybe look on it as a reminder of her own youth. Seeing it in a 'remember the good times' way rather than in a bitter sense.

In defense of Angel in this case, though the same could be said for Spike, the odds of Buffy living out a normal life span are almost nil. With that in consideration, I see no reason why a relationship with either vampire would be a bad idea. Either, both, or all could be dead before the next sunrise. The subject of immortality would be the least important of arguments against such a relationship.

That's what i think too!!
The best thing I could see happening is him getting all shanshued and living with Buffy, both of them growing old. Otherwise seeing Buffy grow old and die while he stayed young would kill him..

Sounds like the running theme for the "Highlander" series, doesn't it? Yet throughout that series, both Connor and Duncan continued to have relationships that could only end tragicly. They never stopped loving the ones that they chose, despite age.
Well we know Angel still wants Buffy. He made a comment about it in 'the girl in question.' And it's because he loves her. Truly. So, yes it can work. Even tho she will age, it takes a long time to look 'old' these days. So I don't see why it wouldn't work out. And of course, as it's been said. They could die at any moment. Their lives being what they are so who knows.

I think Angel would be loyal and not care about the age factor - but i don't think that's their real issue. They are both Alpha personalities, they are both leaders, dominant and stubborn. If they were to get together to eat some cookies some time in the future i don't see the relationship lasting long enough for age to ever be an issue. They would just butt heads too much. That's why Spike is good for both of them - he doesn't need to be the leader🙂
