Would Buffy had comforted Angel over Cordelia's death?

Even though Buffy and Cordy were never friends nor did they like each other, would Buffy had comforted Angel over Cordelia's death like Cordelia did to Angel in Heartthrob

I think so, yes. Even if Buffy didn't recognize, or just plain wasn't aware of, how close that Angel and Cordy had become over the years, she would still not help but realize that the two were friends, and, considering the very small group of people who Angel can actually list as being in that category, the death of one is a major loss. Buffy would recognize that and make every effort to give Angel all of the support that he needed.

Of course she would. She would feel sad for Angel just like she felt sad for Xander when he broke up with Anya. I think Buffy liked and had more in common with Cordelia than with Anya- that was one of the problems they had. Buffy could see herself in the other girl.

But if she had been told about how Cordelia had changed, how she had grown and how she had become Angel's closest friend/confidente then yeah, big sympathy- mutual loss, possible hugs. 🙂

I think she knows most of it. Cordy seems to have maintained a semi-regular phone contact with Willow, while Willow's mouth is not that small.

Even as a friend she would comfort him - definitely if they were more than friends.

She would definitely comfort him! I'm sure she doesn't know the extent of Angel's feelings for Cordelia but even if she did, she'd still be there for him.

Sure. Even if they hadn't fallen in love, Cordy was Angel's best friend.
Buffy might have been a bit freaked if she'd known they were in love, but then again considering all the stuff with Spike that season, perhaps not.
