This just occurred to me while reading the thread about Buffy allowing Angel to feed off her.

Assuming that Buffy had been able to subdue Faith and get her, alive, back to where Angel was, do you honestly believe that she would have been able to stand idly by while Angel fed on Faith, bound and helpless to even defend herself? And, if she were able to stand that, would the image of Angel, not Angelus, killing a helpless girl, destroy at least part of her feelings for and faith in him? (no pun intended there)

Personally, I believe that the only way that she would be able to do it would have been to run far away while Angel fed, and she would have been haunted by what she had done for the rest of her life. Also, from that time on, she would never be able to look at Angel without remembering what they had both done, regardless of whether or not Faith was evil. "Angel, you KILLED a GIRL. And I helped you do it." Intentionally, no by accident in the heat of battle in a dark alley. And she would have had to live with that for the rest of her life.

I don't think she would have let Angel kill Faith. She would have let him drink just enough to cure him, like she did with herself; then she would have stopped him.

I think the question is whether it not Buffy would have been able to get Faith to Angel still alive. The slayers were pretty evenly matched in the fight and Faith wasn't about to let Buffy take her alive.

I think she would have done it, but I don't think she would have run away. I think she would want to, but like on the show, Angel wouldn't want to drink from Faith either.

I think he still thought she could be saved. And even if he didn't, at that time in his life, I don't think he could take a human life, even if he thought she was evil.

So Buffy might have had to cut Faith, hit Angel, and force him to feed of Faith.

Chances are, Buffy wouldn't have dared to let Angel drink too little, so she would have let Angel drain Faith.

So I think you're right; they would never be the same, and would blame both each other, and themselves.

I would like to believe you, because that would also make Buffy letting Angel feed of her less of a selfish suicidal choice, but the text the choobies found did say "drain the blood of a slayer", didn't it?

We know now that doesn't have to happen, but I think Buffy might not have wanted to risk it. Not to say she wanted to die on the show, when she let Angel bite; Maybe she did plan to pull him off after him just having a little(like someone said in the other thread), but she was overwhelmed, and that plan failed.

I could be wrong, but the way I remember it, it didn't specify the amount of blood needed to cure the poisoned one. The first time I watched it, I remember wondering why they didn't take some of Buffy's and give it to him. Guess I'll have to look that up and/or rewatch the episode.

I agree and disagree here, I don't think Buffy would have wanted to risk it by giving Angel too little blood, but it was pretty clear when his health was restored. He sorta perked up, regained some color and was noticeably stronger; I have trouble believing Buffy would have allowed him to keep feeding after that.

They determined that Angel would need to "drain" the blood of. slayer to cure him, hence killing her.
No she wouldn't. Of course she was angry with Faith but she was sort of disappointed too. She felt that something between Angel and her broke, and that shocked her more than her feelings towards Faith. It doesn't fit to Buffys character either, to kill people. Remember, one of her reasons to stop Willow was because Willow wanted to kill people. A no-go for Buffy. Wait, she killed Faith. Yes. And she did this because Faith was a danger for innocent people. There was probalby no other way to stop her.

It's a messy situation. Buffy could take the rifle with paralysing darts that they used on Oz. She didn't. She took Faith's knife.

I love Buffy to death - but I have the impression that she went there to kill Faith and bring her body to Angel.

I checked and it says drain. But it also shows that Buffy did plan on not giving him all her blood, she didn't plan on dying.

I don't know if she would have stopped anyway, even if she did see improvement. She could have suspected that he would need it all to become permantently healthy, and fear it would be brief if he didn't drink it all. That he felt good for a sec, then got worse.

Something I think is weird is how willing she is to bring Faith in dead, when they might need her alive for it to work. That they should have atleast thought about how it was the killing of a slayer that matters the most, the sacrifice, not the blood itself. Anyone else thought of that? We know it was only the blood that was needed, but I still think about it.

Just want to ad something to my old post because I noticed I forgot to post my last two sentences:

She killed Faith but she killed her later. I'm sure that she thought at this time there could be another solution for the "Faith-problem". If she really wanted to kill her; there had been Angel, there had been opened fetters and there had been knives. More to say?

Skytteflickan88 Thanks for looking that up. I wonder what made Buffy believe he could be cured without draining her.

Another thing to consider is that with the Ascention right around the corner and Faith still working with the Mayor, Buffy knew that there was a very real possibility that she would end up having to fight and possibly kill Faith in order to stop the Mayor. I wonder if some some level Buffy thought a showdown between the two if them was inevitable, so that made her decision to use Faith to kill Angel easier.

That makes perfect sense, that part of her reasoning was that she'd end up killing Faith anyway. If they had to fight during the Graduation, the gods guys might have lost.
He would have. He mentioned bringing Faith in when Buffy tried to get him to drink from her.

Yes, but he was desperate then, very ill, and was faced with the choice between Buffy and Faith.

I could see Buffy standing over Angel's weak body, Faith's throat to his mouth saying "It's her or me" and him drinking from Faith. Otherwise he would hesitate and Buffy might have to actually beat him up first, until he lost control, like on the show.

No, I don't think Buffy could have. Contrary to what Buffy says, I don't hink she meant to "kill" Faith. I think she meant to scare her. I do believe Buffy intended to bring Faith back to Angel, but I don't believe for a second that Buffy would have let Angel kill Faith. Buffy doesn't kill humans. Not even to save Angel.

If Angel had killed Faith, and drained her dry, would that have destroyed Buffy's feelings for him? Not likely. Buffy has seen Angel do some deplorable things, and she still loves him, unfortunately.

I wish, lol.

Do you mean when he didn't have a soul? Because I think that was very different for Buffy (and me). She could deal with that Angel used to be a killer, but to know he could take a life when he had a soul? That would be quite different.

This is exactly what I was going to type. Buffy never could have killed Faith, either by her own hand or by letting Angel feed off of her. She's a hero, you see.

I think she would have, though not necessarily intentionally. She almost did kill Faith herself. She was completely irrational and full of vengeance. You gotta love her getting mad at a fellow Slayer for attempted vampire slaying😉 She was all emotion and little thought at this point. I could see it going either way with Faith's life and either her dying then Buffy becoming overwrought with guilt once her head cleared or that once he started drinking off of Faith, Buffy really SEEING and stopping him.

I wanted to point out that while she couldn't kill anyone in season 5, probably not in season 7 either, in season 8, she let innocent people get taken away, possibly killed, so she could follow the vampires to their lair(in the Fray arc). I think this shows that since she's ready to let innocent human be treated that way, very possibly killed, that if faced with a situation like this in season 8 or 9, she would kill a evil human being to save someone she loved. Specially if that helped in the Big Fight.

It's also possible that she wouldn't. I think it depends on how much she was in "General"-mode, which she was very much in season 8. She was a big picture gal then, and killing a enemy and saving a ally could be reason enough. But if there wasn't a big fight coming up? Maybe not. I both hope and fear that she would kill someone in that situation.

Maybe yes maybe no. I don't know this, noone here does. And I think noone here ever will. Here just counts our personally oppinion. But I just don't get why Buffy should want to bring Angel Faiths (dead) body? This sounds barbaric and not very Buffy-like.

Oh she killed her didn't she? (Or at least it was what she thought.) And do you think she would have stopped Angel when he tried to attack Faith? Or do you mean physical? Two against one... 🙂 I think she was able to kill Faith.

Interesting. And what would have happened if just one of them would have killed Faith. Would Angel blame Buffy and the other way around? Or would this be something different. Remeber Buffy killed Faith. There was no sorrow from Angel. I think it's hard to guess who hated Faith more. Buffy or Angel? Both lost their relationship. One reason was Faith.

I think she wanted to want to kill Faith, but even when she stabbed her, she was absolutely horrified. However, at that point Faith wanted a showdown, so it would've happened one way or the other.

I think you thought about a lot of things which Buffy wanted to think about :DOr may wanted her to think about. Good point with the wanted to want...
