If Doyle hadn't died do you think him and Cordy would have made a good couple and gone the distance? Also would her and angel still have gotten so close?

I personally like to think they would have made a good couple, I think Cordy saw a bit of xander in him the geek with a good heart and a hero there to fight the good fight but I think it may have ended a bit like the gunn/Fred/wes story

food couple? you mean good couple? :P
I think the relationship would be alive very long cause Doyle really loved Cordi. Or he loved her enough to sacrifice his life for her. But I think Cordelia wasn't really ready for a new relationship after Xander and not open minded enough at all. Remember she hated demons! So I think that both needed more time and in the end the relationship would break apart.

I dont think the hated demons thing would have gottn in the way of a relationship, remember when she found out she was kinda nonchalant about it
No not really tbh, I never saw them together as more than that Doyle liked Cordy.. I don't see them as a couple. but I never cared much for Doyle at all so that may be why..

Ultimately I think Cordy and Angel are meant to be together (and totally would have gone the distance!) but I do think she and doyle would have had a good - relatively long lasting - relationship. I think it would have been one of those amicable break ups in which they both came out of it having learned and grown. 🙂

totally agree on both counts
I know Doyle really loved Cordy but I think that their relationship would have been boring. I can't imagine an epic love story between them, even if I think Doyle was really great. (don't hate me^^)

My opinion mite be biased because I'm a Bangel 🙂

I think Cordy and Doyle would have gone the distance. I think dispite Cordy being so shallow in High School she saw something good in Xander and dropped her guard. I think she genuinely loved him. Following that I think Doyle fit the type of man she would have fallen for. I also dont think that their relationship would have been boring, there's nothing more fun than watching a couple who are like chalk and cheesy.

Also Cordy only grew so much and so fast as a person because of the visions Doyle gave her (I'm not saying she wouldnt have grown but it certainly wouldnt have happened so quick). Because of that I dont think the relationship between Angel and Cordy would have developed to more than a sibling relationship.

I really wanted to see more of Doyle and Cordy! Him dying felt really premature to me....I feel like he just started opening Cordy up, especially to the idea of caring for a demon. There could have been a lot more for them to learn from each other. Amazingly, in the brief time Doyle was around I think she did learn a lot from him and carried it with her for the rest of the series. In the end, the visions had to go to her and she and Angel had another story to tell. But it's too bad we didn't see more of what their love could have been.....

I thought Cordy and Doyle would have been a very cute couple. Very Cander-esque, but deeper because of Doyle's maturity. I think Doyle would have brought out a lot of good in Cordelia, and he would have been great for her. I don't think they would have lasted for the long haul, but I do wish we would have gotten to see them together for a while.

Doyle had already been in several failed relationships, and I never saw anything in his interaction with Cordy to make me think that she would have done any better with him. What makes the whole thing look like some kind of tragic lost love is that it never lasted long enough to go bad. Doyle just wasn't any kind of long haul guy.

Besides which, it was obvious before the first commercial break of Season 1, Episode 1, that she and Angel were as inevitable as the world turning.
