Question Would Spike and Faith Hook up?

Ah, you are right- he's wearing pants throughout.
I must've gotten it mixed up with one of the numerous 'nekkid Spike' scenes. 😉

It does look like he's not wearing pants until you realize he is :( ll
The scene in the basement is Faith seeing the (seemingly) only unattatched male around after three long years of incarceration and then hitting on him.
Why with Angel didn't happen? I mean, not even a hug after the whole Orpheus thing, i.e. nothing physical but only deep mutual respect toward one other ...and then they ask me why I love Angel instead of Spike 🙄

I think its just how Faith feels about Angel- he's her bro or the closest thing to it. They understand each other on a deep level. I would actually want to know how many times Angel visited Faith in the pokey during the show.
Obviously he hadn't seen her since Connor's birth (mid-season 3) since she didn't know about the whle 'vampire baby' thing.

I would say that if Faith had stuck around LA to help out or whatever then she definitly would've tried it on with somebody- I'm guessing Gunn because of mild sparkage.

Again, the only thing I see stopping Faith in S7 is the knowledge that Buffy is 'with' Spike- she wouldn't steal her boyfriend just to scratch a three year itch, she's reformed now. She's the one who pulls away from the bed when Buffy comes down the stairs- Spike just stays lounging there naked but for a bedsheet.
I agree. I like that Faith immediately backs off. Spike does seem a little irritated when Buffy comes down, asking why she's not at work. I think he just enjoys being able to flirt with someone and being around someone that's not treating him like a murderous crazy vampire. He gets to be more of himself and comfortable about her, but I don't think he would have actually had sex with her even if Buffy didn't interrupt them.

I've always wondered this too. It would have been nice to get another scene with them at the prison. Does Faith know that Buffy died? Cause Angel leaves after her finds out in between s2 and s3, so does he visit Faith after he gets back? Does he tell her or does she not know until she meets Willow again? Anyways that's OT, but yea after 'Sanctuary' Faith just sees Angel as a good friend/mentor.

Certainly, Spike was doing more than his fair share of flirting here. Come on, Faith is an attractive woman, making it quite clear that she was available, all the while sitting IN SPIKE'S BED, so he had to be getting some ideas along those lines, but, think about this, also. This was the first time in a year or more that he had had the opportunity to talk to anyone, either gender, who was actually joking with him. Buffy, Giles, and the others were about as jovial as a funeral party. A good laugh, even a small chuckle, was a rare treat for him.

Agreed - and Faith did bring back what she said while in Buffy's body...yeah...so sexy and just a moment of relaxation for both.

That's what I'm saying. He just likes the attention. And it's nice not talking about the First and Spuffy drama. Also with Faith back, and everyone not entirely too happy about it, takes some of the hate off of him for a bit. Yes, he was flirting and I don't think anyone could blame him for having thoughts, but actually following through with them is a different story.

Exactly, nothing wrong with a bit of harmless flirtation to take your mind off the apocalypse. :)

Now that might have been a good time for Faith and Spike - and while it would drive Angel crazy, Faith could pat him down and make him sane.

Damn good fanfic idea!

The near-end of Orpheus supports your case 😀

Back to topic:
Not sure, but would have made an interesting storyline if they did.

Spike sure. The guy humps everything that doesn't say no to him. Guess you can't blame him considering how many times he gets rejected. As recently as the comics he tried both Harmony and Faith. And lets not forget 'the only thing better than killing a slayer...'.

Faith no way. Angel/Angelus in S3 was always just about taking something from Buffy. And she has never shown an interest in being with a vampire. I'd also like to think considering how mature she is and continues to be that she would never make that mistake. Let Buffy be the one who just doesn't get it because writers can't figure out what else to do with her and let Faith be the one with actual mature storylines. And hey if she meets her perfect match at some point I'm all for it. But it won't be a vampire.

This.
Spike would go for it, he bones anything with a vagina that'll let him and is particularly turned on by slayers, but Faith is street smart and far too self-respecting to let a bum like him touch her.
After being raised by parents who didn't give a shit about her, she'd never let herself be nothing but a sexy body to anyone. Remember Mayor Wilkins was able to lure her because he knew what she wanted most, which surprisingly like Cordelia, was to be someone's princess. In addition, she's never shown a romantic interest in vampires; when Faith made a move on Angel/Angelus in season 3 of BTVS she was just attacking Buffy's Achilles heel, weakening her by taking from her what she values most.

Faith became known as 'the rebel slayer' after killing Wilkins' assistant when in fact I think Buffy is since she's the only one who twice refused to slay but rather bedded her slayage.

More than that because Buffy keeps on putting other people's lives in danger because of her vampire lovers. It started in S7 and is continuing on similarly in S8 and 10.

Also Faith has already turned down Spike because, in her own words, she'd matured. Buffy hasn't ( at least in the romantic sense) so she embarks on yet another doomed vamp-relationship. Because they always end so well. 🙄

Season 7?
Guess this is a bit OT but I think that Buffy has always put other people lives in danger by not being able to, or not wanting to do, the safest thing.
She didn't slay Angelus back in season 2 even though she had an excellent opportunity in 'Innocent' for one.
Can't say that I blame her for that though. Just like I can understand that slaying Spike in season 7 wasn't her first choice.

True I did forget about Angelus in S2. But back then it was at least accidental to start with (not a conscious choice on Buffy's part) and she was 17 and emotionally distraught. Buffy comes to regret letting Angelus live by the time 'Passion' rolls around, and pays the price for it in 'Becoming'.

She blames herself what what happened by letting Angelus live- but she never does that all those other times later on. She constantly defends her irrational action in S7 (and is later validated by the writers) and in S9 about the events of Twilight. She never says 'hmn, I can see everyone elses pov', it's all 'I'm the slayer and I did what I wanted'.
And now she's done it again. Spike tries to kill her and Buffy's solution is basically to let him, (or trust him, which would've been fine if was only her life at stake...) even though she's in the middle of a pitched battle with a powerful demon that's trying, pretty successfully, to kill her friends.

It just doesn't lend itself to either rational thought or even maturity.

On topic- I'm just gonna leave it by saying that I'm ever so glad that Faith isn't stuck in a merry-go-round of ships refuse to die.
Spike and Faith hooking up would've undoubtedly been hot but the price would've been a terrible one.

Don't want to get this OT thing going here. But it doesn't feel that new to me. Buffy has always been taking chances and based her decisions on emotions rather than rational thinking imho.
Also Faith has already turned down Spike because, in her own words, she'd matured. Buffy hasn't ( at least in the romantic sense) so she embarks on yet another doomed vamp-relationship. Because they always end so well. 🙄

Agreed, in fact going from Angel to Spike, considering that he was a soulless bum who only cared about drinking and sex when they first hooked up, could be considered devolution in her romantic choices. In fact, she basically shit all over Angel's sacrifice to give her a normal life by turning around and getting with not only another vampire but one she knows to be his personal rival, or in general someone lower than him. So the feeling of being insulted among other things that I personally got from him in 'Chosen' is the one fragment of his visit that I can actually condone.

When Buffy uses sending Angel to hell as an argument against Xander (regarding Anya) in season 7 was actually the only mature moment Buffy had in pretty much the entire series. I was quite impressed with that but then when it came to Spike she went right back to being immature, even more so than her earlier days and biased at times. Like when Faith showed up and she didn't want a murderer staying in her house, around her girls when she'd been keeping Spike in her basement for at least half the season. 😛

She kind of did the opposite with Spike from what she did with Angel, she became blinded to his true nature instead of her eyes being opened to it; when he was killing/turning again under the influence of The First, there may have been some solid evidence to suggest the influence (such his not having any memory of the attacks though at least one victim and one witness had identified him) but that didn't make it valid that she refused to entertain that he was guilty. With or without a soul he was pretty much a sociopath. She never even saw him as much of a hero until she watched him die while using the amulet in the finale. It was AtS where he more became a hero (big surprise, everybody grows more healthily on AtS; Angel himself, Cordy, Wes, even Harmony a bit in season 5, then Spike).

Sorry this is very off topic, so I'll get us back on by making this statement; Faith may have been a careless party animal in the beginning, but I do buy it when she tells Spike that she's matured in season 7. The way she told off The First when it had appeared to her as Mayor Wilkins, the one person who captured her heart only to end up wanting to use it proved that she's above users now and with Buffy as the only exception Spike was nothing but a self-proclaimed player.

Considering that Angel was her first love, and first love is supposed to be naive and full of irrational choices, as a lovestruck teenager I can ever slightly give her a pass for her immaturity regarding him but as a slayer it was selfish and reckless of her to let her feelings for Angel get in the way of her duty against Angelus. That I believe is the reason for Angel's revelation that their relationship was dangerous, because he saw her unable to do was what was needed when facing Angelus, something he tells Gunn in AtS (though I am totally spacing on the episode and incident) is what earns his utmost trust.

Pretty much agree with everything you've written here. :)
Season 4 – I don't think so. The idea of sleeping with the enemy – both from Faith's and Spike's point of view – wasn't a thing at the time, Angel being the exception, because he had a soul. But, on the other hand, you say “properly met”... Faith had never had any problem with sex, with taking who/what she wanted, so maybe, who knows? If she had throw herself at him, he certainly wouldn't say no.

Season 7 - Faith wanted to have sex, after the “long incarceration”, and she saw Spike as an available candidate, so she made her move. After learning that he and Buffy had had a thing, I believe she wouldn't go ahead with it. Spike wouldn't have sex with Faith, either, as he didn't have with Anya. Later, Faith went for Wood and got what she wanted.

Angel & Faith Season 9 – Spike had recently been with Buffy (the pregnancy/robot thing) and was brokenhearted and needy; so he was shooting in all directions (Giles's aunts, Faith, Harmony); he claimed that he was over Buffy, but Faith knew that it wasn't true; he was just fooling himself (the same thing Xander told Spike later). And, as Faith herself said, she wasn't “nobody rebound girl”. She also said that Spike matured – meaning, IMO, that it (sex for fun) really wouldn't work with them.
And I forgot to say that that scene with Faith and Spike in the basement was a test for a possible spin-off, wasn't it?

Buffy was always known as the rebel slayer because she was different to the traditional slayer image. She had friends, family and hadn't been raised by her watcher. She wasn't as easily controlled as we're led to believe previous slayers had been.

Faith was known as the evil slayer because she went to work for a known evil and carried on with this while the plan was to slaughter a town and included attempts to torture and kill the people trying to stop this plan.

As for the topic I think it depends on the time. Clearly not in the comics as she turned him down. If he shows up at an opportune moment in Season 3 or 4 then I'd say it's a possibility. She seemed quite keen to sleep with Angelus so I don't think the lack of soul would be an issue. Seemed to enjoy teasing him in Buffy's body so I reckon there was an attraction there. I'd say about 60-40 she would have hooked up with him given the opportunity in those seasons.

You're right that is also a reason Buffy is the rebel slayer.

Not sure that's any worse that having sex with a known evil that has killed people under your care and is also now actively trying to destroy the world. Then afterwards all those demons were unleashed through various portals. How many people did Buffy kill through her own thoughtless actions. I think it was more than three.

Also Buffy stopped being the rebel slayer after S3 when she fired the council, then she was 'the slayer in charge' right up until S9. Now she's the 'outcast' slayer, if that's even a thing.

Buffy was under the influence of The Glow thing. You can't pin the blame for demons flooding through the portals on her. I mean it was a poor bit of story telling but it is what it is. She shut the portals as soon as she knew what was happening.

As I remember Buffy had ample opportunity to kill Twilight and didn't take it. She didn't instantly fall under the control of the Glow- it was the fact that it was Angel talking/reasoning with her that did finally it.
She made a choice right there and then NOT to kill Twilight/Angel right away (even though he was resposible for some deaths at that point and she KNEW this) and damn the consequences, just like in S2 a lot of the subsequent damage is on her.
The only difference being is that in the first time around both of them were innocent enough and didn't know anything bad would happen if they slept together. Plus Buffy was an emotional distraugh teenager who actually DID blame herself for everything that Angelus did that she couldn't stop.

In S8 Angel wasn't innocent, and neither was Buffy. And Buffy doesn't take any resposibility afterwards as I recall. It was all 'I had to break the seed, there was no other way'.
Fair enough, but why did she have to do that in the first place? Because, like the future prophecy-thing said, she betrayed herself.

I don't like it either but it is what it is.

OT- I'm pretty sure nothing that bad would happen if Faith and Spike got all wriggly with each other but I think the moment has long passed. Spike is with Buffy now, she is his one and only, with all the pain that entails.
