Would the actors resurrect Firefly, given the chance?

I'm new to Firefly, having marathon watched the entire series, plus the BDM, the other week. I liked it a lot, though didn't love it. That said, I'd still like to see more. It's quite a unique show and it felt like there were a lot of backstories to be told. Also, on a more shallow level, I started fancying Mal.

Anyway, question is, if Fox, or whoever, decided they wanted to bring the show back or do another movie, do you think the cast / Joss would want to do it? Would the actors think it was a step back maybe? In killing off Book & Wash, and answering the Reaver & River questions, did Serenity close the door?

Just wondering if people had said anything in interviews, and what you guys thought.
 
I think I read Alan Tudyk (Wash) really wants to do a sequel... not sure how that would work though. I think Joss definitely would like to do it. I'm not sure about all of the cast-members. Adam Baldwin is in a pretty good place with "Chuck" right now. Nathan Fillion is landing gig after gig; same goes for Summer Glau. I haven't really seen the other cast members anywhere, so they might be up for it.
 
It would be great to see a sequel, and it could be done if everyone could be gathered up at a time when those on regular shows are off between seasons, but as has been said several times before, as busy as Joss is, and let's face it, without him at least writing and having major control over the finished product, it's not likely to be done anytime in the near future.
 
There was a rumor a while back that the SCI-FI Channel was intrested in doing either a mini-series or a full out TV movie, but I had not heard anything more about it.
 
very interesting. I would like to see it come together. But with Summer really busy and others working as well, they would have to work hard around everyone's schedule, provided they all want to do it.
 
It would be hard to schedule. I agree. Still, I think industry contact and guilt stuff might drive some of the more successful cast members to sign on. I mean, Joss did sort of jump-start the careers of, say, Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau. Look at how Ben Affleck keeps going back to work for Kevin Smith. You just know half the actors are there because they're friends with and feel they owe Kevin Smith. I think the same forces would be at play here. If Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau didn't at least try to work out a schedule, a lot of their fans, many of whom are die-hard Joss Whedon fans, will get miffed. I think a reprisal of those roles would be a smart move for everyone.
 
i think most everyone would be willing, except nathan. if you listen to what he says or read what he writes, it often seems like he just wants to move on. not to say he doesn't love the show, joss and the other cast members, but he often appears reluctant.

i think everyone would be all for it. but i agree, it would be really difficult now that summer has been casted as a huge part of SCC.
 
Nathan probably feels that way because firefly was canceled and Serenity didn't do well at the box office. Maybe feeling a bit let down. But, buck up cutie, there could be better days ahead where FF and Serenity are concerned.

Nathan very much loves the character of Mal. He has said he would like to play him again.

I believe that as he works on new projects he would like the media and fans to recognize those as well as Firefly/Serenity. I think he gets a little concerned that so many folks only want to talk about Firefly and he is more than that character.

Sometimes I think people just get too wrapped up in this idea that some of the cast would suddenly refuse to take part. It's all a matter of when the possible sequel is commissioned, and working out the actors' schedules. (TV series don't take up a whole year to film).
