Would Willow Have Come?

I love Giles but he does things that really ticked me off. First with Spike and now this. I had actually forgotten about this but I do think Willow would have helped. That was the good thing about Willow no matter what she tried to help, and I believe she would have helped Fred. She came in Orpheus and she would have came in this had the message been delivered to her.

Yeah I always thought it was a desperate last resort. Also a nice reminder that Fred had thought of the awesome call Willow idea in season 4 that had saved Angel and everyone else!

I suppose Willow may have been able to help because the spell she did on Angel was a soul restoration spell so there's every chance that she would be able to restore Freds soul temporary somewhere else until they could figure out how to banish Illyria from Freds body.

We would of seen Willow separating Fred from Illyria in S6 if we had it I reckon. Willow so would help out Fred out, love there lil friendship.

I remember reading once that Joss had planned on dividing Fred and Illyria into two separate entities if there had been a televised Season 6. Maybe that'll happen once Dark Horse takes control of Angel and his people, giving Joss (presumably) more hands on involvement with all of the characters once more.

A better question is why wouldn't she have come? Willow and Fred were very good friends as seen in "Orpheus" it would be fun to see Willow interacting with Illyria. Willyria anyone? Just kidding, sort of.

Giles was just being Giles, I felt when he wanted to be he could be very inconsiderate. Fred and Willow is a big ship that a lot of people would of been behind.

I would be okay with the whole separate storyline thing if it hadn't been Wolfram and Hart's amulet that sealed the hellmouth. They are never mentioned or referred to on Buffy but then they swoop in with an amulet that will save the day? The amulet should have been found another way. That always made me feel cheated.

The amulet served two purposes. It worked as a bribe to help convince Angel to take charge of the W&H offices, along with, obviously, what they did for Connor, and, probably most importantly, it gave Angel a logical reason for dropping in on Buffy in Sunnydale, without which there would have been no chance to remind the viewers of the long standing Buffy/Angel relationship or for Buffy to have delivered her classic "cookie dough" speech. Without those two things, the ending of the series, with Buffy telling Spike that she loved him, regardless of his answer, would have taken on a completely different meaning.

I agree Willow would have definitely gone!! I always think of Buffy's gray area speech in season 6...I think this would have been one of the gray area instances...yes Angel is working for an evil corporation, but Fred is still a good person!

I did feel like the amulet being from W&H was cheating a bit, however it allowed Angel to go to Buffy as mentioned, and also provided the beginning of the storyline as to how Spike ended up at W&H.

I really don't think it would have mattered. Fred's soul was destroyed by the resurrection of Illyria.

I agree with Connor Holtz that they explain that Fred`s soul is destroyed, whatever that means. I mean didn`t she get to go to heaven like Buffy? I think she definately qualified anyway. I deifinately think that Willow would have come, if she wasn`t too afraid of what she might feel for Fred if she met her again (they hit it off when Willow restored Angel`s soul, though Willow explained that they couldn`t be together because she had a girlfriend). Personally I think that Fred/Willow would have made the cutest couple ever. I`m deeply sadened by the fact that it only exists like one femmeslashvideo on youtube with Fred/Willow, I mean is it only me who found them cute together?

Fred and Willow together would roooock! 😀 Not the cutest couple ever though, it's hard to beat Willow and Tara. 🙂

I definitely think she would have helped. And this is yet again another example of Giles thinking his definitions of right and wrong and evil and good are right/true regardless of that being true or not.

I definitely think Giles was blocking Angel
Well, Willow has always been very helpful and I think also, that she wouldn't have hesitate in that case as well.....

I think she would definitely have came, she liked Fred, and as the death was mystical it could have been magically restored. But no, Giles had to be all stupid.

I believe so. Even if they were working for an evil company, Willow's had some experience with evil herself. And plus, there was CLEAR chemistry between the two. (Leave my Frillow shipping self alone!)

What she said. ^^ Or he. Not sure.
I have no doubt that she'd have come. Willow's the type of person who probably would've flown over to help save a life even if said life hadn't been the lovely nerdy gal she'd been flirting with a year before.

No, she would not have come, because she was in another dimension and could not come. Why do people think Giles was lying about that? He's only ever tried to help people and it was not in his character to refuse to tell Willow and lie about her not being available.
