Would you date your favorite character?

Do you think, when it comes down to it, the reason your favorite character is your favorite, is because you fancy them? As in, your favorite is also the one that you'd choose to be in a relationship with if you had a choice?
 
Buffy's my fav character and as much as i think shes brilliant! i wouldnt want to date her, not my kinda thing 😉
but spike comes a close second and well... different story
 
Tara is my favorite character. And hell, of course I'd date her. But that's not why she's my favorite. My favorite male character is Spike, and I definitely wouldn't date him.

But I can see how it can affect people and how they favorite the characters based off crushes and such.
 
Buffy and Dawn are my fave characters, but I wouldn't date either.

Dating Buffy is too much work and I'd rater be Dawn's BFF than date her.
 
I like Spike and Buffy equally. Buffy is just awesome in every way, but i would rather be her than be with her haha! Yes, Spike is easy on the eyes but that isnt the only reason i like him. I think he is a great character and plays both a great bad and good boy!
 
Angel, Wesley, and Lindsey are my favorite characters. As a straight man, I'd have to say I wouldn't date any of them. lol
 
As for my favorite gals (Willow & Fred) - yup. Crossing over into "would like to be them", too, though.

As for the favorite guys, it's more complicated. Giles kinda does make me think twice about dating him (as long as he, well, keeps that thing in his pants 😛)... while Spike doesn't show up on my dating radar at all. Both of them are my faves more for their big chunk of rolemodelhood.
 
Well, my favorite characters are, among other things, the ones I'm attracted to. I am attracted to other charcters, but this is about my faves. And because I'm attracted to them, I'd date them.

I'm attracted to Spike, so I'd date him.
And I'm attracted to Buffy, I'd date her.
 
everything gets intertwined for me often.... I think I would happily date all of my favorite characters. 🙂

Well favorite is Angel and no, I probably wouldn't date him... I mean I love him but he's exceedingly troubled in many ways and call me crazy but I like being out in the sunshine et al, so me + Mr Vamp probably wouldn't work to well.

I'd love to be his friend cause I think he's a wonderful person but ultimately he's a hero destined for greater things, and I'm just not the girl who'll wait for his heroic return (also wouldn't wanna compete with his ex-girls or 200+ years of dating history or you know... the possibility of him turning evil... 😉)
 
I voted yes, although that is a bit inaccurate. My two favorite Buffyverse characters are Angel and Riley; there is no way I would ever date Angel but I would have absolutely no problems dating Riley. My favorite characters typically aren't determined by whether or not I fancy them; but more so on qualities they have that I admire or wish I had myself.

Nope, not in a million years. Apart from the fact that we both internalise everything so much that we could go years without speaking, I am a B/A shipper to the extent where I can't even hypothetically stomach myself being with him instead of Buffy. I'd much rather be his BFF. I just kind of want to tease him about his Manilow love, make him tea and, you know, kick the shins of people who are mean to him.

I'm weird, I know. It's fine. 😉 🙂

ETA. Having seeing @brinksters post, I'd like to add that I'd not only date Riley, I'd marry the Hell out of him. 😀

I'd give Spike up for Buffy 😀 so I know what you're saying. I'd want to tease Spike on his hair. In real life too, I really love JM, but I would have stepped back if SMG would want him lol.
 
My favorite character is Angel, so no. My Favorite female character is Faith, so YES.
 
I'd totally date Spike. However, it'd have to be post soul and when he wasn't too hung up on Buffy.

Which would be never.

It's sad when you can't even see fantasy relationships ever actually happening. lol

Maybe I am just bad at fantasizing.
