Would you eat robot food?

You have to deal with the fact that 20% of the population has an IQ of 83 or less. (As a calibration point, Forrest Gump had an IQ of 75.) What is going to become of these people? Are they all going to be working at the DMV? We already have one fast food that is untouched by human hands after being cooked and that is pizza. Other places make hamburgers with nitrile gloves on, so they are also untouched by human hands.

I think there would be more of a hassle and a requirement for more intelligent staff to clean and maintain the robotic systems, nullifying the savings from eliminating minimum wage workers.

I also think that without human monitoring, you could get a fly in your hamburger and it would not be addressed.

Franchising costs would skyrocket due to the need for expensive capital equipment up front.

There is a case for robotic arms welding car bodies because the raw materials (the panels) remain the same, the positioning can be extremely accurate and things don't get forgotten. The food industry does not deal with the same requirement for accuracy but it does have to deal with every item being different, from tomato slices to dill pickles. (Only cheese slice remain the same.) Each restaurant would have to add millions of dollars to the capital equipment budget because imaging and target recognition software do not come cheap.

hmmm...makes me wonder how much fast food type food is already made by machines (or robots) before being delivered to restaurants anyways. So much food is just reheated and assembled....is this robot restaurant really all that different?

yes I would.

I read the title as "Rabbit Food". Yes I do eat rabbit food.

Robot food is slightly less appealing. Im all about the spirit stuff right now, there's no love from a robot, no blessing or sense of achievement, no feeling to the food. Mind you, if I am going for a store bought burger I am not looking for those things, I am looking for fatty food fast, screw that salad business. Meat, cheese, sauce, wrapped in carbs and sugar. Im not particularly impressed with the look of the food created, and I hate the idea of being served by a pod. Does it make nachos? It could probably churn out mass nachos at a faster rate. I might be impressed by nachos.

Who cleans the machine? Looks like its got lots of nooks and crannies. As a previous service worker, I'd rather wipe a bench. Cooking is funner than cleaning. Make a cleaning robot! I want me a Rosie.
