Would you have accepted an animated tv show of After the Fall?

Kinda like Beowulf animation, but the angel world, beauty of animation the characters dont age like the actors lol. I dont know why they couldnt continue it animated, or is it cause they just wanted to give up or couldnt find a tv station to back it up?? I dont know?
 
It would have been so much better and more organised than what we got. The only trouble is, they would need to get everyone back to do voice work, and that would be difficult. Not nearly as hard as a whole new regular season, but still. And it would have cost a lot more, and they would need a network to pick it up. I don't think they are ready yet to do something like that online without a network. Apart from that though, it would be great!

Actually, the original cast wouldn't be required at all, since the ultimate images will be computer generated. At the moment, all that is required is to have SOMEONE move in front of a screen in order to track the motion, the way that Golem was generated in the "Lord Of The Rings" series.

Even their voices could be done by other actors, the way that buffy's was in "Chaos Bleeds." There are "actors" in hollywood who specialize in doing exactly that: recreating other actors' voices, and they are used more often than you might believe in correcting dialogue when the original actors are unavailable. It's the same principal as a stunt stand in.

Well, possibly not the best analogy since it was Andy Serkis who did all the motion capture for Gollum, but I know what you mean! The thing about the voices is, yes, you can get people to immitate them, but they rarely have to actually act. Could you get people who sound like the cast? Probably. Could you get people to provide the same intensity and emotion as the cast? I'm not so sure. Joss would want the best, and if he can't get the original cast or a set of people who can provide an equally good performance, he wouldn't do it, and I'm not so sure I'd want it.
 
If it was going that route I would prefer straight animation (what others call cartoon).
Straight animation used to be great! What has happened to the world?
I've seen the new Star Wars trailers and the new style of animation - not impressed.
Full *realistic* (mostly applicable) CGI like Gollum? No way to the power of 10!
Too expensive and too long to create for this type of venture.

As much as we all love the original cast of both "Buffy" and "Angel," the shows could continue with new actors just the same as Tarzan, James Bond, Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood, Superman, Batman, Luke Skywalker...the list is only limited by your imagination. There COULD be another Buffy, Willow, Glies, or whoever, whether animated or real. We might (blasphemy of blasphemies!!) like the new actors as well, or even better. As you say, Joss has the final say, and if he finds someone who he believes can fill the role, assuming that he ever decides to undertake the project, of course, he will do so.

The comics are starting to grow on me a little bit but I wish there were also animated versions of each one. I don't think there would be that much difficulty in finding a network...Adult Swim maybe? Or they could release episodes online, either ad-supported or for download for a fee, which people would buy.

I wouldn't want Beowulf-style animation. I'd want a regular 2D animated series (like Gargoyles).
 
I'd rather regular animation too, I just can't karma Superstar for it.
I would maybe accept CGI but in general, it bugs me.

I don't mind the comics though. I think they're doing an okay job, considering what they were left to work with.

(I wanted to look this up before I commented on it) In the last "Pink Panther" movie made with the original cast, David Niven was undergoing treatment for throat cancer, which he later died from. For quite a bit of the movie, his voice was so distorted that impressionist Rich Little dubbed his lines, and it was only years later that the fact was ever known to anyone not involved with the actual movie. To this day, just how much of Niven's actual voice, if any, is actually his has never been disclosed.

So, yes, the voices of the actors could be done by others without losing the "feel" of the characters portrayed.
 
If they had all the original actors to do the voices of characters yes, if not, then definitely not.
 
If there was an animated series I think CGI animation would be pretty fugly, and isn't it a lot more expensive too? I'd rather just have plain old 2-D animation, I'm getting sick of all the CG animated movies that come out - I don't even remember the last time an animated film came out in theaters that wasn't CG...except for The Simpsons movie.
 
So I decided to get in the loop and actually get ATF the first issue hard cover. I would have loved to see this as an animated series. I was so pleasantly surprised by how well everything was put together. I am totally into it!!
 
A Fray animated tv show more than anything. We already getting ANGEL After the Fall as a comic, I'm happy with that.
 
I'd like it if, as it has been said, anything canon.

I've got opinions on what would be my favorite, though

I've saw some cartoons lately with my son that are pretty slick, the aren't all computer models but they have some models in for back drops like buildings and what not, the majority of the stuff is still old school frame by frame hand drawn cartoon. the two blend really neat if you have a good animation company doing it.

I wouldn't like a super realistic take on it so much, like Final Fantasy computer models.
Computer animated doesn't mean it has to be super realistic though.
Cartoon network is doing something for the clone wars were the characters are computer fashioned, but in a purposely not so realistic manner. I'd say they are sorta deformed but that makes it sound ugly when its anything but that.

Thats the way I'd like it done if it was total CG, I wouldn't like an almost realistic but not quite because it's too close to what I really want bad but cant have, more live action.
