I can't say until I'm there. PROBABLY (my best guess knowing myself) is that I'd simply ice him out, so it would sort of work out the same way without the murder attempt (as I wouldn't even visit him at all).
I am capable of violence, and I'm aware of my own dark side and monstrous potential (which I think is true of about everyone, though most try very hard to never become conscious of that part of themselves, which makes them more vulnerable to it, and/or to project those aspects onto others) but as for me I believe it's what gives me strength to not let that side control me. I know from experience that it would need a point. To rescue my child from Wes, yes, even if I understood he was trying to do what was right, and I would probably be cold blooded (as opposed to passionate) about it, letting the regret come later (but not feeling regret at all the moment I did it). But once the deed was done and child lost...Wesley was no longer a threat, he already got any comeuppance when he got his throat slit (with being iced out probably forcing him back to England which I'd think was for the best), and it would serve no purpose, so I'd be more inclined to mope than to seek revenge against him. However, that would not mean I "forgive" him, just because I don't try to murder him, and his trying to seek it (especially too soon) would be...inadvisable.
Though something I think worth noting is that Angel was used to bashing demons...so when faced with more metaphorical demons, including his own guilt and depression, he's more inclined to turn to violence (Buffy is the same way). That is to say, if I was used to using deadly force on those that caused my adrenaline to spike and otherwise upset me on a regular basis, then it might be a much natural reaction to have attacked Wesley in that sitch as Angel did.
