I want to know who would volunteer to become a doll.I personally, would do it. No consequences to anything you did while you were there and after your five year contract I'd imagine you'd come out in excellent shape.

I would do it. If I had a five year contract, when it was over I'd be 19; and I'd have missed the horrible teenage years. So, defiantely. You could do pretty much anything you'd ever wanted to (Okay, so you wouldn't remember it, but who cares?) and not get into any set of trouble. Hell yeah I'd sign up.

No way. It's sad when my family and friends miss me when I dont miss them. But *looks at Echo*, ok give me the application form.

Wait. Will you get the salary?

You'll get a walnut and a sponge
I'm not to sure, with my life how it is at the moment, I wouldn't. I'm happy with where I am and have plans to get where I wish to be in life and to achieve my goals. If maybe things weren't so good i.e homelessness, loss of friend/family that brought me down I think I'd definitely consider joining a Dollhouse.

I don't think i'd be a doll...that's just not who i am...i think if you've done something wrong..then deal with it properly...changing who you are for five years and then going back to who you were....that accomplishes nothing...except a rather large amount of money....tempting..but still no.

Although i would join the dollhouse but as a handler...not sure why but it just sounds more like me..

I dont know, I might dependong on life was going. But to have 5 years pass and then you get a nice pay out of it wouldnt be to bad. Its just the part where it would be weird to not know who I am and what they are using me for.

I have nothing attaching me to my life...No real reason to stay atm. Which of course is sad, but it would make an experience. Adventures. Maybe gaining something I don't have now....It could be something to try 😛

But no...I wouldn't. I want my own mind, my knowledge of who I am, and why I am. I couldn't let that go

I'm so glad I said yes cause I had an AWESOME dream where I was doll but all of us November, Echo, Sierra, Victor where kinda aware like Echo so it was fun the only bad thing was we didn't have the pods 😛

You people seem to be overlooking the forced sex with whatever weirdo is shelling out money. Sure you wouldn't remember it, but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be consequences. And there would also be a very real chance of dying during that five year period, and you couldn't trust the people running the Dollhouse (Sierra got raped by a member of the Dollhouse staff!). Forget this jazz. No way would I be a doll.

yeah, if you wanna be a human robot. Hey, maybe they do kick ass.... but they had their lives erased. Memories are what define peoples personalities. Who are you if you have no memories? Time to free the dolls.

Sorry but I'm just not into my body becoming a strangers toy.

Ok, I wouldn't mind if I got transformed into a size 6 whose skin never breaks out. But, it just seems a little creepy to me.

Kind of like, and bear with me here, cause this is an odd illusion. But. When you go out drinking with your mates and you black out, and don't know what happened. Everyone else thinks it's funny reminding you of the things you've done, but I don't like losing that amount of control over who I am. I prefer to be in charge of my own life and my own decisions.

Oh, definitely not.

I think the very idea of being a Doll is horrifying. Imagine the horror that would wreak on your psyche if you remembered everything you'd done! I mean, let's look at Echo and what she'd remember just in the episodes we've seen: Having a childhood of sexual abuse (Eleanor Penn), being hunted down, poisoned and essentially raped by a psycho, meeting the guy of her dreams every other day only to be wiped after, being a blind-turned-seeing woman in that horrible camp, being wiped while in that safe and all the scariness she felt there as Echo, PLUS all she went through as Caroline (watching her boyfriend die, for one) and all of this doesn't even scratch the surface. Most people are at least a little messed up by their childhoods, but if Echo remembered everything, she'd be messed up by hundreds. Maybe thousands.

The only thing that's comparable to that kind of awfulness is completely losing 5 years of your life.
AND, this is assuming that the Dollhouse even honors the 5-year contract, which I'm still not sure about.

So, no thank you. However much they pay and whatever awesome things my body would get to do, it wouldn't be worth it IMO.

Oh, AND that's not even mentioning all the life-or-death shit that goes on! Who's to guarantee you'll even live for the whole five years, when you're imprinted to be a secret agent or prize fighter or whatever the hell else every other day?

Said it in a much less sarcastic manner than I did.
I somehow got the impression, at least in Echo's part, that becoming a doll was either some sort of punishment or a way to escape punishment. She said during the interview in the first episode that she "had no choice." Given the hinted at influence and support of people in high places, a 5-year stint as a doll might be a way to make criminal charges, either for the new recruit or someone close to them, disappear, or to obtain some sort of assistance for themselves or others. After their time as a doll, along with all memory of what happened while in service there, the individual might have elected ti have certain memories from their real former lives erased or altered, or to have certain memories or skills implanted. A rape victim might want to have the experience expunged from their memory. Someone who wanted a particular education or skill, otherwise impossible for them to obtain, might see it as a means to that end. Plus, I believe, there was mention of a large sum of money in return for their services. I can see how an arrangement like that could be very tempting to quite a few people, even when the implied dangers and bad experiences are factored in.

Would I myself do it? For the right incentives, I would be very tempted. But who would want an old beat down worn out thing like me?

i think i would... even to be a doll i think so, i dont know why, just maybe i'd have a better life than this one. Do anything and everything sounds cool! even if you forget it all...

Can you imagine all the women(and probably men) that would want to hire out the CotA doll?(and they would want me for one reason (sw) ) there would be arguments and mass riots about who would get me first. The waiting list would be huge, and nobody would want to use the other dolls, i just don't think i could do it.

you can read minds!!!... i mean um... no there wouldnt be...

You've pretty much summed up every reason why I would do it.

The way I figure it, the Dollhouse just sucks you dry - they hollow out your brain so they can stick whatever they want inside and use your body for whoever's paying. Echo and Alpha are special exceptions to the rule, considering they composite. That doesn't work for everyone.

What I'm trying to say is: HELL TO THE NO. What I think some of you are missing is the fact that, yes, while they imprint you with the skills necessary to please the client, you don't remember them at all. And I'm pretty sure that upon your release, the Dollhouse edits your memories so you never knew they existed in the first place. Just to save their collective asses.

Y'know, if I really screwed up that bad, I'd stand up and take the consequences for my actions. Deal with it, go to jail, spank my inner moppet. While the money might tempt me for half a second, I'd have to consider the fact that, for those five years, there is no such thing as me. Mes wouldn't exist anymore. And hey, I like me. I'd like to keep me around for a while.

Also, dude, who the hell would want a Mes doll? I mean, I'm sure my love for beer would shine through any imprint.
