Would you want to be friends with Willow?

I think from my point of view, Willow at the beginning wasn't 'sweet', she was a doormat. She doesn't even get why Buffy would want to spend time with her and never challenges everyone's expectation that she'll do their homework etc.
I think I would have to shake series 1-2 Willow much and often. Buffy tries to challenge her thinking but it bounces off...
Willow stumbles as she tries to wake up and grow up (and yes it's extreme because it's BTVS analogy land) but don't we all?
Far from seeing grown Willow as arrogant and not needing her friends, I see her feeling free to go out and be herself, then come back and re-engage with her friends, that's far more healthy than the obssessing younger Willow.
They only gave us a glimpse of Willow's family but I'm not sensing a lot of care, it just shows it's a much longer journey to work yourself out from scratch than emerge from a good faamily all confident and sorted.

Willow is a great character. I would definitely be friends with her. Over the seasons she has changed very much. But there is nothing wrong with that. People change and grow, I would still be her friend regardless. People make mistakes. It really is apart of life. The test of a true friendship is hardship and forgiveness. Also realizing that no one is perfect. Buffy has made mistakes and so has she.

Willow seems the type of character to always take care of herself. She has to with an absent family. She has her studies, accomplishments, and her magic to make her unique. She did it to make herself different and to help her friends. She is selfish and selfless at the same time. It just goes to show the writing on the show is good. Her character development is quite good.

I'd totally be friends with her. She's the character that I most identify as and I guess we would get along pretty well.
When she's the geeky shy and adorkable nerd she doesn't allow her selfish slytherin bitca to come off and when she's allowing her selfish slytherin bitca side to take over she tries to hide the geeky shy and adorkable nerd side the best she can and I can really relate to that.

I'd definitely be friends with Willow, but I'm not sure I'd fully trust her. I'd be worried being near all that power, there'd be a lack of equality in the relationship and that would worry me. Xander has a whole history with pre-power Willow, so he doesn't feel it as much, but I think I would

Evil willow yea she was kick ass(given she wouldn't kill me) but no not really shes kinda blah otherwise

Yes! I am actually uncertain if I would have confronted her if I realised she had played with my memory. Kudos to Tyra for suddenly growing a spine.

Willow knew Tyra Banks?! ;p
Buffy as she sicks up for her frineds both form psychically and verbal bully's.

Willow cheated with Xander on Cordelia; of course you wont be friends with her.

I would really like to be friends with Willow. Our personalities are similar and she has proven to be a good friend to Buffy and Xander. She made mistakes but she confronted them and tried to be a better person in the end and control her problem with magic. I like how in season seven she is cautious with when and if she does magic because she doesn't want to lose control again.

Looking back at the insecure, uncool, socially awkward person I was when I started high school, not a lot of others would have reached out to me. I think S1 Willow and I would have bonded in the library over a mutual love of books.

Willow and I have so much in common, personality-wise...but I don't think we could be friends. One wrong word, one hurt feeling, would lead to a simmering resentment, which would result in us trying to destroy each other. From zero to psychotic in 10 seconds. 😛
