I adore Marsters as an actor. He is great an deserves to get more exposure and play other complex characters. He's spent a large chunk of his career playing Spike. No offence, but Marsters isn't exactly young and I'm don't think he can keep playing an ageless vampire forever. He shouldn't have to do so. I want to see Marster in other roles. So, no I don't think I would watch a Spike spin-off if I had to choose between it and other edgy lead parts for Marsters.

I agree. I mean I would watch a Spike spin-off, JUST because it has James Marsters in it. But I would rather see James in like feature theatrical films and maybe see him tour with his band. As long as he keeps the blonde hair, I'm happy. But even if he didn't, he's so yummy I think I'd still have to watch him in anything he'd appear in.

Would I watch a Spike spin-off? It's the only Buffy spin-off I would watch. Sorry but a Willow show would send me to the land of nods. I know a lot of people like her and her character but I can't stand her. Spike was the only character in Buffy I liked (except Angel) so when I heard he was moving to L.A. I was very happy. If I had to pick between a Spike spin-off or an Angel TV movie then of course I'd pick the second. But as far as spin-off's go Spike all the way for me. It seems like the most likely to happen anyway. James looks like he would come back to the role and he was even talking to David Greenwalt about the possibilty. As far as the layout of the show goes I couldn't care less if it was just like Angel. As long as it has that Whendon feel to it then I don't care. I think having Spike in England would be cool but would never happen. They would put him somewhere like New York. But then now you say it New York wouldn't be too bad.

Of course I would watch, just a few suggestions to make a Spike spinoff work.

1) The character of Spike works well playing off other people, so the cast would need to be ensemble of course. My suggestion would be to turn it into a buddy action comedy with Andrew as Spike's sidekick of sorts.

2) No more CA, I think for Spike to work on his own series he would need to inhabit new never before seen Buffy landmarks. My personal choice would be for him to be on the road alot.

3) Like many other said, a Spike spinoff should not be "Angel" part 2. He needs a different purpose, because he seriously isn't a champion of Angel's stature, he doesn't want to be. Spike is a character who has always been lead by his heart, even when he didn't have his soul. I say add a little twisted romance to it, either have it be a new woman or Spike on the road searching for Buffy. But still, it needs to be based upon how passion doesn't make someone think most of the time. Spike would never think things through like Angel, he would just "do it" and that difference would make the difference in the theme and feel of the show.
4) A different kind of enemy this time around, Spike shouldn't be fighting your run of the mill vampires or demons. He needs to fight maybe something new, like a group of bigot humans hunting down decent demons or sorceres or something of that sort.

I dont know, I would give the show a chance first but I just dont see what it would be about that would truly intrest me, have him move somewhere make new friends and fight the forces of darkness? been there done that. Have him ride cross country and fight a long the way? Dont know, that would take away from the possiable Faith spin-off idea.

I didnt even watch Angel that much until after S1 and then I caught reruns and caught up.

I would deffinatly watch it! i think Spike is the most interesting character on Buffy. (i have yet to watch Angel....) i just think he's so funny with the chip and everything!

I'd watch it but wouldn't it be interesting if it was a Faith and Spike spin-off show or a Willow and Spike one.
