Wouldn't They Have Heard the First Shot?

This kind of thing does have real world precedent.

A British Columbia woman hit in the head last year by a stray bullet from a gang shootout as she sat watching TV in her condo is now talking publicly for the first time.

Laurie Tinga of Port Moody, on the Lower Mainland, underwent surgery to remove the bullet from her brain and was on life-support for several days.

Innocent victim of gang shooting speaks out

If you check out the pic on the page, it's the kind of second story balcony window.

As far as the strange angles in the Tara case, I can live with that.

Sorry I would have replied earlier but I was worn out after posting on the fanfic site.

So Wiccaness,
I've just had a look at ep 20 when the bullet leaves Buffy's body, it comes out sharp end last.
In the teaser for that episode, when the paramedics arrive in the back garden there is a clear showing of the whole area and it shows the back off the house -more problems-
It clearly shows Buffy lying down with her head towards where Warren shot her from and
[ tee hee hee ] who is the person behind the seat ?, it isn't Warren, Xander or Buffy. As shown the person and Xander are shown and several frames later Buffy and the person are shown. Was that the person that shot Tara ?.

3 shots were fired at Buffy a fourth shot was fired into the air. Do a frame per frame of Warren shooting at Buffy and you'll see four shots.

I agree with you completely, when a noise is heard you react to it. Of course it depends on what causes the noise [ a ball smashing a window or gun-fire ] as to what reactions can be made, a gun-fire can be heard as a car back fire so no reaction is made. Distance from the gun is a factor and if the person in question is doing something would affect if the gun-fire was even heard.

Wiccaness
The sound factor has made me think of another scene. From the episode THE WISH, when the vampires Xander and Willow bit Cordelia, they dropped her to the floor, what happened to the sound of her hitting the floor ?

one thing i noticed was that when tara looks out the window we see buffy, there should be a gate infront of her behind the plants but there isnt, i see what seems to be the street. but on the ground shots you see the gate were
Warren comes through.

And im not quite sure what you see and mean by there being another person, i went back and watched a few scenes and didnt see anything, but then again i could have watched the wrong scenes.

im not sure i went back and watched it and it kinda seems like they cut sound for that scene and just let the music do all the sound, up until the keys hitting the floor. I think this because Giles seems to be hitting the gate and right before they drop her you really cant hear the cage being rattled by giles or anything

When Tara looks out the window it was because she saw Xander, at which time Bufyy was prodding the plants looking for more camera's. There was a view of Buffy with the garden gate [ where did the gate go ?]. Presumably the street that can be seen is a back alley.
For the 'other person' in the teaser, after Buffy is shot and Xander gets up the camera pans from Xander to Buffy, in that bit. At normal speed it's hard to see the 'other person' but if you do it frame by frame then that person is clearly visible.
I put a question on the series 3 forum about Cordy's quiet landing, to see what others thoughts are.
This is enjoyable.
Off subject here, in Doppelgangland when Willow dressed as vamp Willow hits Anya, if that bit is freeze framed an image of two Willow's appears, I'm just surprised that no-one has used that for a banner.
