Okay here's another one of those annoying 'Does anyone like...' threads 🙂

But in all seriousness, are there any WWE/ECW/TNA/Ring of Honor/any type of wrestling at all fans on BB??

I'm curious because I'm 21, and female, and according to my family, should have grown out of this phase a LONG time ago (like 6 or 7years ago apparently). But it's not happened, and instead I'm getting into it more and more.

For example- I met Chris Jericho on sunday before the post-Westlmania UK WWE tour. I loved every moment of the whole thing, but I was somewhat surprised (and felt a little awkward) to find that 90% of the fans were male and of the females, they were mostly either disinterested mothers with their kids, or little little girls. I didn't like that I was getting stared at, and even Jericho was somewhat shocked that someone like me would turn up to meet him!!! [Also, he was even more shocked when I said I'd always wanted to be a WWE Diva, but that'd shock most people!].

But anyway, is there anyone else who loves it like I do?? And, go on, tell me why and who your favourites are- I'm intrigued!!!! 😀

Yeah, I'm a fan. Growing up, my favorite wrestler was Sting, right now, gotta be CM Punk. My favorite of all time is Rob Van Dam.

Haven't watched any since Wrestlemania though, just had things get in the way. Any news on Punk's Money In The Bank opportunity yet?

Hello Cutie
Not as yet, but he teamed up with Jericho in one of the untelevised Raw shows over here and anhilalated Umaga and his tag partner (who's name ive completely forgotten cuz I have a rubbish memory!)
My husband's into MMA, so he watches that occasionally, but to me it all looks like rolling around on the mat punching each other in the head. Though occasionally people pull off really cool moves, like the flying kick to the head from a standing start that one guy did which knocked the other guy out--three seconds into the round.

To be honest that is mostly what it is in essence, but I love it. I know it's fake, and it's my pet hate when people tell me that, but it still involves skill and alot of heavy fitness to do what they do- and they are athletes.

And yes, occasionally there are amazingly cool moves pulled off- that seem so much more painful when you're actually there seeing it!

BB was talking about mixed martial arts, UFC, Pride, e.t.c. not pro wrestling. But yes, I completely agree with you Cutie.

Oh, me! Me!

I'm a HUGE WWE fan, and I just went to my first live show last Thursday, where my sister managed to make it into a photo with Chris Jericho that ended up on WWE.com! lol

Fave wrestlers have got to be Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton. Those guys have got to be the hottest Superstars right now, and they're really going places.

Oooh, Randy Orton! My favorite is when he slithers across the ring right before he does the RKO!
H
Hello Cutie
No way! I hated Orton!! Haha Lyri that's wicked!! I'm waiting for the video of Jericho's book signing in Nottingham to go on WWE.com so I can see myself and my mates on it!!
Ooooooooh, a wrestling thread. Big wrestling fan here. All time favorite, Raven. I love anything old school ECW. When TNA was in Nashville, we (being me and my husband) were regulars there. All vacations I've been on in the last 5 years have been wrestling related. Did WMXX and Ring of Honor, Hardcore Homecoming and ECW One Night Stand and numerous Royal Rumbles. This year we went to Chicago for No Mercy. We were supposed to go to Wrestlemania this year, but some unforseen circumstances kept that from happening.

I'm currently a huge Randy Orton fan. Don't much like John Cena. Other current faves are The Miz and John Morrison, and Elijah Burke. I tend to be a heel fan, even from back in the day.

Hello Cutie
JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS!!
I LOVE THAT THERE ARE FEMALES HERE WHO LOVE IT! I'm not in the minority!! 🙂

Evilyn I am so unbelievably jealous of you!!!! That's wicked!!

I'm not a massive Orton fan (sorry!) but I do appreciate that he is one of the best wrestlers around atm!!- the bf adores him though- when we saw them on sunday in Nottingham, UK, it was Orton v Triple H and my bf and I almost came to blows over who we were cheering for!!

I am a HUGE Jericho fan- have been since his '99 debut on the WWF, and a Jeff Hardy fan (my bf's other fav is Matt, so we have loads of Hardy Boyz stuff) and Triple H has been another favourite since as far back as I remember watching it.

I remember being a little little girl when my brother first got into it and watching Jake the Snake and the British Bulldog too- they were brilliant 🙂

Edit:

I'm a HUGE WWE fan, and I just went to my first live show last Thursday,

Isn't it amazing live???!!!??? I hadn't been since WWF Rebellion when I was about 12 or 13, but I finally got to go again on Sunday, and it's unbelievable! The atmosphere is amazing, and I was being such a mark and screaming my head off for Jericho and Triple H!

Does anyone like any of the Divas?? I'm not a huge fan of them as I always hated that they seem to pick girls that look good then turn them into (mostly rubbish) wrestlers, rather than pick people who could potentially be good wrestlers. With the exception of Beth Phoenix, Melina (I'm a Melina fan) and possibly Victoria and Mickie James, none of them can wrestle. I was always a Lita fan when I was younger, and I'm quite disappointed most of the girls are nowhere near that standard now.

Used to be a big Lita fan. I actually went and saw her new band The Luchagors last month here in Nashville and they rocked the house. We met her after the show and she was really, really cool. I'm also a Beth and Melina fan and also Mickie and Victoria. I like TNA's women's division a little better though. They have a bit more actual talent on their roster than WWE.

Too right bout the TNA Knockouts. ODB FTW!!!

My sister and I got such a huge buzz from the show on Thursday that we immediatly decided that we would book for the next show in November. I got up early when the tickets went on sale Saturday at 9am, and I had the tickets booked by 9:01am!! We managed to get floor seat (Row 6 or 7 or something) whereas we were in the teirs last week, so we are majorly hyped for Novemeber!!

Lita and Trish were my favorite Divas. They worked their butts off to get where they got to, and they deserved everything they achieved. The Divas now are a poor substitute. With the expection of Mickie and Melina, I don't really like any of them, wrestling-wise. Maria makes me laugh though!!

I love wwe I aint watched it in a few months been at pub during show time. I used to watch tna but it started to grind a little.

My favourite superstars of all time are : the rock, Hulk Hogan, sting
At the moment : HHH, Shawn Micheals, Kane and The Undertaker.

Is it just me or should DX be brought back properly not just to boost rating?

H
Hello Cutie
Definitely.. I mean they're bringing back DX as thing for little kids, which annoys me. Either bring them back properly, or not at all!
I'm a fan of wrestling as well. More so WWE(Raw and ECW brands, not so much Smackdown),but have caught TNA as well. Back when the old ECW was running,Buffalo was one of the better stops they had when they were touring, and regularly had near-sellout crowds to the Flickinger Center. The atmosphere could not be topped. I was a regular attendee;ironically, the only event I missed(because I was out of town)was the November to Remember PPV.(I DID manage to make it to a PPV-The Great American Bash;Buffalo's getting another PPV near the end of the year.)

Favorites:

All time-Ric Flair. Current-CM Punk,Chris Jericho. Not only for their promo abilities, but to wrestle a damned good match too. (Add Triple H and Shawn Michaels to that list, too.)

Cutie: As far as the Divas go,I have to agree with you on that one. There's precious few of them who can wrestle;most are there for the eye-candy factor.(Especially the ones who've come in through the Diva Search that WWE's run the past few years-hell,arguably the most famous of the contestants never landed with the WWE!)

Jealous of the ECW memories. Wish that I could've been a part of that era in wrestling (*sigh*). WWE has made a mockery of ECW. I hate Kane...
H
Hello Cutie
Urgh I hate Diva search- it's just search for the soft-core porn stars/topless models. And Ric Flair is an absolute legend- I had tears in my eyes at Wrestlemania when Michaels beat him.
I LIVED on the WWF growing up! Seriously me and my cousins used to make the championship belts and have our own Wrestlemania and everything! I haven't really followed it as closely in the last few years. I keep tabs though so I at least have the jist of whats going on.

All time favourite wrestlers: Stone Cold, The Rock, Shawn Michaels and The Hulk!

Oh I'm getting all nostaligic now!

I watched the new Raw an hour ago. Didn't know they were here in London. Gotta get myself to one of these things one day.

They'll be back in Britain soon, never fear.

WWE usually makes the roadie across the pond a couple of times a year.

H
Hello Cutie
They're back in November time. Tix are already on sale.
"Hello Cutie agrees: Haha he's amazing 🙂"

Is he as cool and cocky as he is on tv?

Pretty much, he was indoors and wearing sunglasses, and everything about him screamed 'I'm totally cocky and self-assured'.

Also, this is probably something you don't want to know, being male, but he's so much more attractive up close.

I just wish he'd have said the 'Never Ever' thing that he does- I love that!

Is it just me or should DX be brought back properly not just to boost rating?

I mentioned this very same thing to a fellow grapple fan recently. HHH and Shawn obviously as like, the senior members, and have two of the newer guys bought in to give them a boost. CM Punk would be a good fit for DX, as would Paul Burchill or Kofi Kingston.

Speaking of Kofi...he bloody good is he?!
