at the end of 'Conversations With Dead People' Cassie as TFE says...

"This last year is gunu seem like cake after what i put you and your friends through..."

what she ment to say -or what I think she ment to say- was

"The last few years are gunu seem like cake after what i put you and your friends through..."

this could be considered a majour error due to the fact that she says "This LAST YEAR......" which could get people going Noooooo its the last year! i know i did. were as nothing of the sort was ment to be implyed coz "the LAST FEW YEARS......" meaning quet possibly not the last year?!?!?!

::light:: ps. im new dont shoot me if this has already been posted! ::light::

I actually picked up on that mistake right when Cassie said it. Yeah there's definitely something wrong with it, because it doesn't make sense even if it were intended to be "This last year".. This final, coming year will seem like cake after what The First puts them through... Gwuh? Or, if "put" is in the past tense, it won't make any sense either because that means The First will be going easy on them this last year compared to what they've been put through.

I'm kind of cunfused. When she said "This last year", did you think she was saying that this year is the last year? I think what she meant was the last year, meaning season 6, will look like cake compared to what The First will do. If she had said it the way you said, I would have thought she meant the last few seasons, like seasons 4-6. Either way, I don't think she was at all implying that this was the last year.

Plus, she was talking to Willow, who had a very rough season 6. So I think "This last year" was season 6, not season 7. Perhaps they should have said "This past year".

That's exactly what I thought too. It never even crossed my mind that it meant that other idea and that it was a mistake.

I also thought that she meant, like last year, as in season 6 in our worlds... since that year was hard on EVERYBODY, with Buffy being ripped from heaven and adjusting, Willow's craziness, Tara's death, Xander and Anya... blah,blah,blah... (You guys all know what happened)

So, all that horrible stuff last season is going to seem like cake after The First is through. 🙁

I just thought she meant last year, as in season 6, because that was when Willow was all strung out, and presumably had experienced the most pain. She was trying to get Willow to magically disarm by convincing her everyone was going to be hurt by her powers through her addiction. So when that didn't work, she just transitioned the conversation of Willow's angst to her future woes, which the First is hoping will be substantial.

Sorry, I never noticed this ... and still don't ... my English grammar doesn't reach this far ... I think I'm making these kind of mistakes all the time!

but even still TFE would or should have then said "THE last year is...." if 'it' meant season 6. instaid of "THIS last year is...."
which, i portray as, THIS current year, season 7.

"THE last year"? oh dear god, that's just WANTING to find mistakes... and trying not to realize that there arent.. it's freaking obvious the first was talking about season 6, i find no mistake in saying in "this last year"

She meant Season six. it really is pointless to debate it. the First was saying that the last year they had, season 6, is going to feel like it was easy compared to the hell that the scoobies are going to go through in season 7.

You couldn't convince me otherwise. It's so blatantly obvious.
