the line in bold is not correct....if it was there would be another slayer....Joss justified there not being a slayer after she died by saying that she had alrady died and another slayer came....shouldn't Buffy know this??? is Joss going back on this....what's going on???

"My death could very well make YOU the next slayer"

That means it could supposeably make them the next slayer and either Buffy doesnt know that her death wont make them the next slayer or shes trying to scare them/work them up.

She also says that "Death is what a slayer lives, Death is what a slayer dreams". So signs tell shes just scaring them because they had gotten so very cocky thinking they are invulnerable.
 
hmmm because truly if faith died then it the power would be passed on to the next slayer... unless something in Joss' strange plot points to Buffys death inacting a slayer if she still has the power...
 
i was wondering about that too... I was like "Huh?". I thought FAITH had to die for a new slayer... but I dunno...
 
I believe that Buffy was just scaring the SITs.

After reading the latest spoilers though, I have a theory.





Somehow, the interaction between the The First Evil, the two Slayers, the SITs and the Hellmouth changes everything forever.

There is no longer a single line that the Slayer power passes through. Suddenly, most, if not all, of the potentials are fully powered slayers, as well as several potentials that weren't known about.

Imagine the possiblities for spin-offs now that it appears Faith the Vampire Slayer is not going to happen.

Just a thought.

That's kind of the point of this season, I think. It has already been disturbed and the First has been 'released' because of that.
 
What about in that recent episode where the people tell Buffy that she is the last slayer?
 
she will be the last slayer...the last one alive that is...either the SITs will not become the lsayer or something else...or the hellmouth will close forever or move and she'll be the last slayer guarding it...
 
But Joss allways reads the scripts and checks wether he likes them and this is something he should have noticed!
 
I believe the possiblility that the hellmouth will close and that Buffy will be the last slayer to guard it...... and as so many potentials were killed there is a possibility that the one to be chosen was killed........

What was actually said was that she would be the last guardian of the hellmouth, not the last slayer.

Big difference in the implications of that.

Either BUffy and her team wins the fight and close the Hellmouth forever, or they lose the fight and the FE succeeds at irradicating the Slayer line.
