I've been a bit curious to see if there's any hanging around here, especially any that also post at the XF Boards...

I was a fan of the show, not a hardcore fan, but I liked it well enough. I stopped watching when David Duchovny left, however. And no, I never posted at any of those boards.

me too oldie....david was the show...t-1000 and scully couldn't hold it down...

favorite ep...the one with the two chicks that were tearing up the small town cause of there cosmic g-spot powers or something...lol..that was a great ep...

I was a fan of the show and watched it all the way through. When it came out it inspired a shedload of imitations and sparked a renaissance in TV sci-fi (IMO). So, even if it ran on a couple of seasons past its "best by" date, I think we owe Chris Carter thanks for that. If not for The X-Files the TV networks may not have been receptive to Buffy and others of our favourite shows...

This is the only board I've posted on btw - except for The Daily Planet Smallville one but it's part of the same family, isn't it?.

yup...all part of the buff summers conglomerate...

x-files mos def changed tv...definately raised the bar for sci-fi...its too bad star trekk hasn't listened to it...so far that falkin show has only had one good episode this whole season...that show supposed to be setting the standard for tv...

Yup its part of the same 'family' Myself and Buffy are the admins there.

I used to watch the X Files but lost interest as if I missed a few episodes i'd be completely lost in the storyline. A bit to complex for its own good.

I used to watch it when David was in it...but kinda lost interest in it and it had gone a little boring...Scully couldn't hold it down with the other agent!!..What was his name again?

I used to watch the x-files i wasnt a huge fan but i thought that it was pretty cool!! 😀. i havent seen the x-files in ages and now i have just got a sudden urge to watch it *puts video in*. i dont post at those boards either.

I'm a fan of the X-files, but I haven't seen most of the episodes. Trying to catch up now. I don't post on X-files boards.

I love that show soooo much. I was one of the only people who watch season 8 and 9 faithfully, and actually enjoyed it. It was a really, really great show, I was sad to see it go.

Glad to see some fans hanging about!

Latara: I thought I was the only one who enjoyed the last two seasons! Although, not on par with the previous seven, it was better than no X-Files at all.

Luv Spike: The agent you're talking about is John Doggett.

Back in the day, there used to be tons of arguements on the XF Boards about who was the bigger genius - Joss or Chris Carter. 'Course, Carter always won out, but despite my devotion to the X-Files, Joss is *the man*. Always has been, always will be.

Yup, my friend really got me into the X-files. I watched the re-runs on FX before I got into Buffy. But I agree: it really went downhill after David Duchovny left...

They didn't actually show her the series after DD's departure...That's how much my country is behind..

Me, not an x-files fan? I think my name gives it away. btw: great minds think alike, hu xtrustno1x 😉

The show was terrible after Duchovny left. I hate doggett, he was a sad "replacement" for Mulder. The show became too much drama after the seventh season...I mean, the first few seasons, they barely talked about Mulder and Scully's personal lives, even though shippers were killing for more info, it remained unique. Yes, they did have some inside to them, but it mainly focused on the cases. As seasons progressed, it added more personal touches to their lives, but the main focus was the x-files. Oh, wait, then Mulder gets abducted and all scully can do (which, I don't blame her, but it takes away from the show) is go, "ooo, poor mulder, we need to get him back, *cry cry*" It got old after awhile, but the origins of the show were lost, thus making me stop watching it until Jump the Shark in season 9 which royally ticked me off because they killed off the Gunmen!
Anyway: my point being, the x-files sux w/out Mulder, Doggett needed to die, and Long Live TLG!

They sure do!! *grins* After I signed up on the X-Files boards a couple years ago, I began using this sn everywhere. Makes things easier to remember...

I was seriously ticked off about TLG. My one hope after finding out the X-Files was ending was that TLG may come back with thier own show. Futile hope, yes...but still! And, although I still remain an optomist as far as the last two seasons go, I won't lie to myself: The last two seasons *were* nothing but Scully running around screaming "Where's MUULLLLLLLDERRRRRR??!?!!?!" I have to admit, I liked the "personal" sides of the characters, but not when it became the soul purpose of the show. UST is much better than RST. Especially between Mulder and Scully. It made things a heck of a lot more interesting. As far as Doggett goes...First I hated him. After awhile, I felt sorry for him (just a tad). Towards the end, it formed into this weird kind of...like/respect. He's far from my favorite character, but I can tolerate him. Reyes is another story...I'm trying to think of one, nice episode I really liked during those two seasons, but I'm drawing a blank. Optimism talking again, but they weren't bad...or good. Just..mediocre. In hindsight, I think a lot of fans regret wanting the show to continue "forever".

Yeah, I think they should have left it after the season 7 finale. I think the rest just kinda ruined it...I had my fav eps from seasons 8 and 9, but it just wasn't the same 🙂D most of my favs were MSR related 😉 )Plus it was the perfect ending for the show...besides scully being pregnant, that part would have ticked me off if would have been the series finale, but then again, that's what fanfic's for right? 😉 😀

I didn't really have a reason for hating Doggett, I just saw him as a sorry replacement for the "Skeptic" role. I just didn't like the way the writer's made his attitude in the beginning, I began to kinda tolerate him towards the end, but I dislike him more than CSM, X, and Krycek.
Reyes, at first I didn't like her, I don't know why, but I think it was her attitude, she was too cocky for my liking, but I warmed up to her character alot.

btw: I heard back when the series finale was being released (I think it was in a TV guide, still might have it...) anyway, CC and co. were talking about a second movie that was expected to be out in 2005...has anyone heard anything about it? I'll hafta dig out the article...

I've also heard the rumours about a second film. I think all the main players were up for it. Here's an article I found where Rob Bowman talks about the possibility of a second film - it sounds optimistic...
Second X-files film
