Xander and Dawn

There is a trust and a family-like comfort surrounding them but that doesn't make them sibling-like, does it?

The Family like comfort thing kinda does......but the entire relationship is familial, its not at all something you could think of, they are for all intent and purpose, Brother and sister...as is Willow.....they should NEVER get it on.

Well, I thought since they are (Xander and Buffy) are comfortable around eachother, they can work it out.
 
Nah, that comfort would totally be destroyed if either made a pass.
Xander had grown up and his attraction to Buffy had turned into a love that would stop him from wanting Buffy like that...and she was never attracted to him, she has always seen him in the friend then brother light.

Xander isnot destined for anyone. I would have argued that Anya was his perfect 'mate' but as she is dead, he need to move on. The idea of Teen Dawn and Xander, thats a little freaky, but i can totally see Xander and Dawn getting together when she's about 23/24.

Sorry the destiny thing was a joke. I was getting at the fact that Xander is a demon magnetic. They female demons can't seem to get enough Xander.

I thought it was great when Xander asked Willow to "gay him up" and Dawn made the comment "Wouldn't you just start attracting male demons.

I was just making reference to that demons go for him.

I totally agree that Anya was the one for him but yes dead.

Dawn just seems out of the question.
 
I dunno i loved Anya and Xander but she is gone, I even loved Cordelia and Xander a bit... and if that relationship worked a bit why couldn't a Dawn and Xander relationship work, Age is really not a number you see people out there to day, 17 dating a 36 year old... Watch Maury lol. I mean I am 17 and the oldest guy i have dated is 26. which would be pretty much exactly like Dawn dating Xander, and see in my experience... I'm like 11 years younger then my older brother he's almost 30...When i used to live in delaware i've had his best friends who are like 27-28 try to hook up with me.

So i mean in the real world it is very plausable to see massave age differences to get together, and as creepy as it might sound Big brothers friends starting to crush on you. I think Xander and Dawn could work out, I think that given enough time as stated where Dawn grows more as a person and Xander is given a reasonable amount of time to mourn the loss of Anya, they could make a great couple, and We already know Dawn has had a thing for Xander... and at the end of season 7 Xander looked to take atleast alittle interest in Dawn, Plus they are really alike well kinda. Neither one of them have superpowers or anything....
 
The gap doesn't bother me at all. Six years is it? That's not a lot. What age is Dawn when they first come to Sunnydale? Xander's been there since she was a kid, growing into a woman, thats what I'd find creepy. He's like her "uncle"...
 
probally more along the lines of brother and sister... or best friends who just dont date cos they are around each other all the time
 
Being around someone all the time shouldn't matter. I mean sometimes thats what makes the best relationships.... Is when you know someone for years and you are good friends who care what happen to you. and all that good stuff... I mean that makes the relationship good and strong, yes sometimes it doesn't work, but thats a part of life...
 
I don't see Dawn and Xander as a couple. They had a great relationship. They cared about each other on a brotherly/sisterly level but they also understood each other more that Buffy and Dawn ever would. They were two humans in a supernatural world and their struggle to fit in was probably more difficult that Buffy's struggle to fit in. They were connected on a very deep level. But in my opinion it was not romantic.
 
I thinkl it could be romantic though I'm not saying straight off the bus but maybe someday Xander might have turned around and see that DAwn is a woman. Not just some kid there is a very deep connection maybe it could lead to something more. And also if you love someone age shouldn't matter.

Erm, well considering that there is absolutely no blood connection between Xander and Dawn and that incest refers to two members of the same family (blood related, i might add) having sex then i really don't see your point.

Well, you are more accurate but i still don't see how.

Dawn and Xander were never raised as family, even in the way that two step-siblings might be. In fact Dawn certainly didn't view Xander as a brother in those early episodes of season five.

I had a friend at school who had a younger sister that was about three years below us. Total pain in the ass, always tagging along when we were going out, getting in the way of what we wanted to do. As a kid she was nothing more than an annoying "little sister" to me. Doesn't change the fact that she grew up to be a total hottie who any guy, myself included, would love to be dating.

Sorry but i don't see anything even remotely incestuous about the feelings between Xander and Dawn growing more intense as they get older.
 
Ummm ewwww!!

Xander's relationship with Dawn was way too parent/child, brother/sister. That would have been soooooooooo weird and gross and ewwww.

I can't say I could see Dawn with Spike either.

Characters like Xander, Spike, etc. seem to me to be much too mature and adult to be with Dawn.
