Xander and Dawn

In season five and six i'd have agreed with you there. By season seven however Dawn was already a much more mature individual and after another year or two had passed i seriously doubt that there would be much difference in maturity levels between Xander and Dawn.

This topic keeps getting me to thinking about my relationship with my "step-sister", Tracey. My mum and her dad where together for a good few years and because of that we spent a fair amount of time together as kids. Back then i never would have viewed her as anything other than my step-dad's daughter, although i still never looked at her as a sister.

Years later, after our parents had split up i ended up going to college with Tracey. She is three years younger than me but because i decided to get a job after school but then went back into full time education i ended up in the same year as her. Boy, was she NOT the same girl that used to bug me as a kid.

Our relationship was entirely different and on a whole new level. She was now a young woman and we had things in common that weren't there before. We never dated but that wasn't because we didn't want to or felt like we couldn't, but because we were both always with somebody else.

The point being that people change as they get older and relationships change with them. Just as a sexual relationship can become a friendship, so can a friendship become something more. Ultimately in years to come there is no saying what could develop between Xander and Dawn.
 
Relationships can definitely change like that, no doubt about it... But to me, Dawn and Xander still had the brother/sister (or friends) relationship in s7. Not the same kind as in s5, then it was like, obviously something completely different. But I definitely don't think Dawn and Xander would've worked as a couple, and I understand the incest feelings about it, heh.

I can definitely see where you're coming from here.

IF Dawn had matured further (like you said after a couple more years or so) then maybe I could see her with one of them...MAYBE....but I dunno...it still weirds me out.

Just going from what I saw from Seasons 5-7 though, she wasn't mature enough at all to be with either one of them.

And...I dunno....ugh....it's still weird....I can't help it. lol

But as I said, I do see where you're coming from and I think you make a valid point.
 
Well if you actually looked at DAwn you would see she's not a kid anymore she's actually turning into a mature adult. I don't think she's too young anymore.
 
I could definitely see it happen in the future, and I don't think there's anything weird or incest-y about that. Just at the moment (s7) I think they were a lot more like siblings or friends.
 
You think he would realle decide not to date Dawn 'cause Buffy wouldn't like it? Hm, now I almost want Xander and Dawn to be a couple in the future, would be kind of awesome. (Didn't mean that as in I want them to "disappoint" Buffy.)

Didn't get that. Sorry. Did you mean Xander loves Buffy still, and it is not his thing to go out with her sister and make her the substitute of Buffy?
 
He may respect Buffy but it's not like he hasn't been with other people Anya, Cordy etc. why can't Dawn be one of those people?
 
Its not like he is disrespecting her, In fact Buffy would probley like it better if Xander and Dawn got together rather then someone who is gonna just hurt Dawn and all in the long run, With it being Xander Buffy knows he's gonna do his best not to break her heart....
 
See guys you've gotta admit Angel's Baby makes a good point. Buffy probably wouldn't be happy straight away but given time I think she wouldn't have minded.
 
I definitely think she would have minded but I hope they woulodn't care about that.. Seriously now I really think tthey'll end up together some time in the future 😀 (Not in season 7 though.)
 
I like Dawn and Xander, i do think they have a future if they wish to pursue it....but i have issue with this

Buffy cant know this, infact off all her friends, Xander is least likely to be a fave for Dawn dating....remember he has had two girlfriends....he broke BOTH their hearts...Cordelia with Willow and Anya with the Wedding Fiasco
