I've always felt there was a connection between them. How do you feel about them hooking up? How do you see them as a couple? Do you think Riley would have helped Xander be a stronger, braver person?
 
I have read a couple fics that made Xander/Riley seem like a believable pairing... I can see it, honestly. Especially in moments like the "She doesn't love me" scene in "The Replacement"...
 
I think the two have the Soldiers Military item, which connects them. But I never realized another art of connection between them.

Honestly, they always seemed more like good friends, and scenes like the one of them wrestling in the dorm room are cute and funny. 🙂 If Xander was ever going to go gay, I think Riley should have been the one for him to be with, as weird as that would have made things on the show. LOL
 
I can see it, but it doesn't interest me. I enjoy Xander with characters who challenge him, characters who are rude to him, characters who don't share a lot of similarities with him, makes the relationship more fun.

As for Riley, I think he works better with Willow than Xander. I've always thought Riley/Willow had a lot of chemistry.

I'm not a fan of a Xander/Riley romantic pairing; but I did enjoy seeing them hanging out being friendly with one another. It was nice to see a boyfriend of Buffy's who actually tried to become friends with her friends.

Yes, I think that spending more time with Riley would have motivated Xander to work on his fighting skills more. Also, just being around Riley, his attitude about fighting and being brave would have rubbed off on Xander.
 
I think that if Xander ever did follow through on his vow to "gay up," Riley would be the one that he would set his sites on. Poor Sam wouldn't have a chance.

I'll give you stronger, but braver? I thought Xander was already brave. Someone with no superpowers and standing in the front lines to fight creatures 10 times his size and 100 times stronger than him is the definition of brave.

I agree that Xander already was brave, however I think Riley could have made him less nervous (less awkward jokes when in danger) in those situations.
I think Riley could have helped him be more confident in himself. I mean, Cordelia always put him down and Anya always worshipped him, and in both cases, that was the last thing Xander needed.
 
I think they are a very good match as friends. Maybe even big brother and younger brother. I don't see them as a couple.
 
Honestly, after finding some fanfic on this pairing, I really like the idea of it. I can see it being a believable and interesting pairing. Hella complicated of course, but interesting. Plus Riley and Xander are both hot. Woulda been fun, in my opinion. 🙂
 
I've never given much thought to that possible pairing, but does make sense. Xander always had a deeper connection with Riley than with any other boyfriend Buffy had. Deeper than with any other guys in the show, actually. I could see something more going on between them.
 
I don't really see it. But then again I hated Dramione until I read a Dramione fanfic 😛

I guess I'm open to any relationships really.

I just can't really see either Xander or Riley being gay :: P?:: Well actually Riley more than Xander. 😉
 
I have read a few fics and I liked them, but I prefer to read Xander with someone who snarks with him. Riley is nice to Xander, but Spike on the other hand *hearts*
 
Xander totally has a crush on Riley: "I totally get it now. Can I have sex with Riley, too?" Xander & Riley would've been hot, I think I need to read some fanfic. 🙂
 
Xander actually has a crush on everybody:

"He's [Angel] buff. He's a very attractive man."

"I mean, he's a senior, he's [Oz] attractive"

"No one is judging you. It's understandable. Spike is strong and mysterious and sort of compact but well-muscled."
