Does anyone not get choked up when Xander gives a speach in Season 7? The first in Potential to Dawn telling her how amazing she is.

The second in Dirty Girls before the attack on Caleb. Possibly the best Xander Speach of the entire series.

I've never made it through one of them with out tears though - what about you guys?

Yes, the speech Xander gives Dawn at the end potential almost had me on the verge of tears. He truely IS the heart of the group and an invaluable asset.

I don't think I ever really cried, just felt great that Xander was getting some more time to shine. He never really got to otherwise, he was just kinda there. (cheating on Cordelia, leaving Anya at the alter are areas where he didn't shine)

Probably the only time that I got a little choked up would be at the end of Grave.

I liked his speech in Dirty Girls and i thought what he said to Dawn in Potential was really nice, up to a point. I mean, what he said about being the one in the shade and never getting the spotlight was true and beautiful. And i even get why dawn would say that 'seeing' is his power but even though it is nice and all its still a bit odd as for seven years Xander has been the guy who doesn't see anything except what he's told by the others then suddenly he's Mr see-it-all. Don't get me wrong i like Xander and his words but i just find it a bit weird

Add to that his statement that, "I'm trying to see your point, Buffy, but it must be a little to my left..." puts a damper on a lot of his noble speech giving. As for great speeches, I'll take, "You sad, sad, bunch of TRAITORS!" any day.

Agree entirely, it completely smacks of 'you're a great leader while none of us got hurt but now that i've lost my eye, well you're not such hot stuff afterall.

Well, I can't help think he had a right to be a bit peeved...

Loved the Xander/Dawn scene. In fact, I was totally shipping them after that.

😉

I almost cry everytime i really do lol he is so sweet and its just awww...

His talk with dawn is what really sparked my Dander interest.... Followed by my crazy co loving Dander person Jess.

I think I've said it before somewhere, while Xander is good at making the right speeches in a dark times...he also knows what to say just to add the extra sting if he's hurting.

The speech to Dawn was really sweet. The one where he's telling the potentials that they should follow Buffy is kinda sweet too. But that comment after he lost his eye shows that he's still got that tiny bit of "kick them when their down" quality to him.
