Okay, we all know that Spander (Xander/Spike) is one of the most popular slash pairings out there. For fun let's give scenarios where this relationship could happen. Try as much as you can to give fun but not out of character, or at leats overly out of character, situations.

Spander in S4:

Spike and Xander are outsiders, looked down upon, and complete losers. Spike to amuse himself flirts with Xander, not because he's all in love with him and all that stuff, but because he was bored. Xander freaks, but does think Spike is hot (Now Xander thinking Spike is hot is canon). Spike is amused. He takes it as a challenge. Besides, he gets to have sex. Spike continues torturing Xander, who tries his hardest to escape. Eventually, Xander caves and the next morning, Xander is paranoid. Scared his friends would find out. Spike puts hints here and there for Xander's friends to torment Xander even more. Poor Xander breaks up with Anya because, well, he's gay. Anya doesn't take this very well and goes straight to Buffy and Willow and tells them Xander is gay and he broke up with her in hope they'll be mad at Xander, too. Buffy and Willow are shocked but not freaked. They're supportive. In fact, they're too supportive that they wanna find Xander a boyfriend. Xander finds a boyfriend on his own, though. Word gets to Spike.

And suddenly, it isn't fun anymore. In fact, Spike is a little pissed. Why the hell is he pissed? It's not like he cares who's the sod bloody Harris is shagging now.........................

Man, I think I wanna write this fic. It's so funny.
 
Another one of Willow's spells goes wrong, causing Xander to do a mind swap with Spike, while at the same time, Andrew accidentally drinks a potion that will cause him to switch personalities with the first person he sees, who just happens to be Buffy. Since Xander has always had the hots for Buffy and Andrew has always had the hots for Spike...
 
I like WA's answer. 'Tis mucho funny.

I don't really see how it could have happened -- or even how it could happen in the future. The most I can ever see those two manage is a VERY tentative friendship. I mean, maybe a drunken one nighter at Drac's house when Spike finally comes to collect his eleven pounds or something is possible, but I really can't see it being used for anything more than comedy. Besides, we already had the meaningful drunken one nighter with Anya. That's, umm... ooky. I don't see how Xander would be able to do it without thinking about that. I mean, he saw it, man. I don't think it's very easy to comshuck the guy you actually SAW comshuck your (ex)-fiance on the table.
 
But Xander's life is so complicated 😀 Xander in Phases.

I can see Spander as a comedy or dark angst. Read too many Spander fics to believe in it.
