Why was he wearing a girly looking shirt? It's been a while since I've seen that episode but I saw gifs of it on tumblr, so I was curious about it. Was it ever explained? and am I the only one who thought it looked rather girly or is that just me?

Both Xander and Buffy have worn worse shirts/outfits.
At least you could say that Buffy's...attempt at a dress could be some kind of camofluage for when she fights vampires next to a bush....or a terribly dated sofa?
