Well, my favorite out of the two would have to be Xanya. Cander was cute, but I felt that Xander and Cordy were just too different. Their personalities just don't mesh very well, imo. I know that people like to say that "opposites attract", but they really don't. 😀 You have to have things in common, as well as mutual respect, in order to have a lasting and functional relationship. 🙂

OMG, I can't choose. I love Cander and Xanya.

BUT, I guess I'll choose Xanya, since I prefer Cordy/Doyle as far as who I want her to be with.

As for the opposites attract thing, I'll have to disagree with you. I know many couples who've been happily together for years, and are completely opposite 🙂
 
Cander in highschool was fun. Cander post season 7 would have been EPIC. In my head canon Buffy drove that school bus all the way to L.A. set up slayer central in the Hyperion, became cookies but instead of Spike coming back, Cordy did and she and Xander bickered happily ever after.

Well, I really really really love Xanya, but I'm still going to have to go with Cander on this one. Because of who they were, their sweet moments were that much sweeter. I thought they were a very realistic couple and meshed really well. It's not a matter of not liking one... it's a matter of which one I liked more. And Cander just had some very silly, but unbelievably sweet moments and I think the silly aspect was part of their charm.

Completely opposite? Really? Hm, that's interesting. 🙂 See, a lot of people SEEM opposite, but they still have some things in common that even they might not notice: Favorite activities, characteristics, etc. I think that in order to really love someone, you have to be able to be FRIENDS with that person. 😀

Oh, Kean, good thought! I honestly considered a post- Season 7 Cander, but now that you mention, it sounds FABULOUS! Cordy, a beautiful, mature, insightful, strong, nice(er), tough, witty, and just all 'round amazing, with our newly awesome and mature Xander. Perfection, really.

Kean, you genius, this now must be in my top five 'ships. 😀 (Just below Bangel)
 
What to choose, what to choose? I just can't decide. I like both of them. I like Cordy and Xander bacause it's so cute, and she really gave up everything for him, he showed her the way to be a better peron, and even when they were together they teased each other in that cute way. He hurted her so much, but she forgave him. True, I never got over them. They got their closure, but I always wondered what would be if Cordy stayed?

And Xander and Anya, they are cute in that "We'll be together forever" way. They just had a spark. They were sparkly 🙂 He hurted her, and she forgave him. And now she's dead. And they never got a good closure.

They are my second favourite Buffyverse ship. Seeing Xander in S8 makes me even more depressed that they never got a chance to try again. They couldn't have been more perfect for each other if they tried.

Oops, meant to say that I "honestly NEVER...", not that I did. 😀

Still, since Post-S7 Cander never happened, I'll stay have to go with Xanya as the best Canon 'ship. 😀
 
Xander doesn't seem to be into lasting relationships. Or, he just doesn't care as much as his significant other. For instance, he cheated on Cordy, and then ended things bluntly with Willow.

He never seemed as into the relationship as Anya did, and obviously left her at the alter. And when SEASON 8 SPOILERS SEASON 8 SPOILERS SEASON 8 SPOILERS Renee died, it didn't take him long to mourn. I fear for Dawn...

Cordelia and Angel belong together, but I like Cordy/Xander too!
 
Both ships are great fun. Out of the two, though, Xanya is always going to be my favorite over Cander. Why? Because I believe that Xander and Anya, like all the best couples out there, brought out the best in each other and no matter what their love for each other was always so apparent.
 
Xander/Cordelia! Hands down. Seriously, they just pull your attention to the screen, something Xander/Anya doesn't do for me. The snark, people, that's what Xander/Anya lacks, the snark.
 
As much as I loved Xander and Cordelia together in high school, I really don't think that they would have lasted much longer than they actually did. It would have been interesting, however, to see them meet up years later at a high school reunion (Anya would have had to survive for this to happen, of course) Xander and Anya showing off pictures of their children, and Cordy and Angel showing off pictures of Connor, and both couples wishing that Buffy and Spike hadn't have had to miss the reunion because of fighting demons out of town,

Xanya, all the way. Cander were fun and all, but they were not a long-term thing. I could not see them getting married and growing old together at all. However, I could see that with Xander and Anya.
 
I've never really been that invested in who Xander ended up with, but I actually think that's since him and Cordelia broke up. Out of these two it's Cordy/Xander for me.

I think, more so than Xander/Anya, they bought the best out in each other, they showed each other that they could be something other than what was expected of them. I think they get brushed aside as a 'highschool couple' but I think they really did love each other very much and it was a love that could have taken them all the way. They proved that they had a relationship that could adapt when it had to given how much their relationship progressed and that's what makes a relationship last for a lifetime.

I thought Xander and Anya were pretty cute together but I always felt there was something missing with them.
 
Cander of course. I never really liked Coyle that much. But Cander had spunk and it was interesting. But my second choice for Xander would be Anya, because I like Xanya.
