Xanya vs. Dander

I like Dander, though I'm not sure if they will ever trump my love for Xanya.

And wasn't Buffy like 16 when she and Angel first had sex?
 
As long as Dawn is of legal age she can date whoever she wants. Obviously when she's underage it would have been wrong and sick for her to be with Xander. When I was 21 I was dating a 16 year old which lasted four years, now I'm 29 and have been with a 21 year old for two years. Inbetween this I had a brief fling with someone 10 years older then me and nobody I know has ever raised any of these age differences as an issue. Although Xanya is my favourite relationship after Bangel I think Dander is one I could really support now Anya is not around. If she still was though it would be Xanya for life.

Lets not forget CreepyCordy and Conor in Angel though.. that was the most wrong and sick relationship we've seen in the Buffyverse. She changed his nappies! HIS NAPPIES! 🙁
 
I think Anya and Xander take the cake for the age difference even though Xander was 18 and legal the first time they hooked up. They have the biggest age difference out of any of the main couples on this show and that isn't an easy contest to win.

Their age difference probably plays more of a factor into their relationship than the age difference between Xander and Dawn unless Xander really did grow up towards the end of season 7(which is a definite possibility). Their age difference was so big that it completely changed their outlooks on life. For Xander, he was young and confused and for Anya, she was at the end of her life and wanted to settle down. This was their fundamental problem. Anya felt like she was at the end of her life and Xander was just accepting adulthood.

Of course, now Xander is grown up finally and Dawn may not be there, so you may run into that problem again but with Xander on the other end.

My problem with Xander/Dawn isn't the age difference. I just don't like it romantic. It was a good familial relationship. I don't hate Xander/Dawn, but I just don't ship it. It doesn't jump at me as something I want to see work.

I hate Dander. I could not believe they actually put them together. It gives me the creeps, especially when I think about Xander baby sitting her when she was 14 in Real Me. It's just so wrong.

Xanya all the way. He really loved her.

Xanya all the way. Dander still creeps me out since I have nothing past season 7 to go on and that 'ship in season 7...no.

This is such a difficult question to me. When I watched season 7 in my latest rewatch (I finished a few weeks ago), I fell in love with the idea of Dander. I just finished a season 8 re-read and now I'm head over heels IN LOVE with Dander. I do love Xanya just as much though. I think it's easier for me to get behind Dander even with my love for Xanya because Anya's dead. If they were still just broken up, I'd probably still be hoping for Xanya to get back together...
