Why do like Xanya?

Even though I'm a die-hard Cander, Xanya is one of my favorite ships because they have a great relationship and they can be funny!

Why do like Xanya? Anya was like his perfect match, the love they know could only grow. I can't find myself getting into Dander because I want Xander and Anya together

I'm a big Xanya fan, and I was completly heartbroken when he left her at the oltar. Maybe if her situation was different I wouldn't be so sad, but her speach about how she finally figured out what love is was just so beautiful, and then her world felt apart.

I really have to say that her proposal in The Gift was very touching, but the moment that will always stay in my mind is when he saw her acting goofy and said to Buffy "I'm gonna marry that girl".

I love them, because first time I saw them, when she asked him to the prom, I figured out, this is going to be awesome!
 
They are my number one Buffy ship. There is just something about them that I love. They are goofy, quirky, and just fun together.
 
Their one of my favorite ships. They're great together. I always loved their scenes together especially when Anya didn't understand something and Xander had to explain.
 
My favorite Xanya episode would have to be Into The Woods cos it has this great scene:

Xander: I've gotta say something, cos I don't think I've made it clear. I'm in love with you. Powerfully, painfully in love. The things you do, the way you think, the way you move... I get excited every time I'm about to see you. You make me feel like I've never felt before in my life. Like a man. I just thought you might wanna know.

best part of that whole episode.

I will never understand Xander's reasoning when he left Anya like that.. hello 21th century, divorce..

I completely agree. I don't think Anya and Xander would ever let themselves fall into that trap. If they got that bad, they would divorce. Anya is strong and Xander has shown no history of abuse. Had they gotten married, they would have realized that by already living together and spending all their time together, their lives would not have instantly changed by getting that piece of paper. If their life goals turned out to be different, they could have discussed this beforehand or dealt with it in the future if it turned out they thought they wanted the same things but changed over time. They could have divorced if their relationship went to hell or DISCUSSED THEIR ISSUES BEFORE HAND. They really should have told...

As for Into the Woods, that is an amazing scene. Anya is clearly in love with Xander, but that is the first time Xander really says how much he loves her. 🙂

Ahhh Xanya, my favorite (and only IMA) ship of all time

Favorite Episode would have to be either The Gift or Once More, with Feeling

I like Xanya because they alway talk about their sex life in front of the gang which is hilarious!
 
I think it would be ridiculous if anyone didn't know by now that I'm an enormous Xanya fan, they're pretty much my favourite couple of all time. Most people didn't grow to them until season five, I'm aware, but I actually loved them from The Prom. I just loved the awkwardness, but the way in which Anya seemed to grow so attached to him so quickly, and I was so relieved when she returned in season four. I think they managed to go from the comic relief as far as couples went to the most serious of all the relationships in Buffy, even if Xander did still believe himself to not be ready to be married. I do wish they had been married - but that's probably because I am bias - but I think the way things turned out was good for them. Season seven Xanya still sparked and I still loved watching their interactions, especially from Storyteller and onwards. There is nothing about them that I don't love, from The Prom to Chosen, throughout, I loved Xanya, more than any other couple.

Oh, I made this thread a while ago, and I use a Cordelia icon alot.
 
When Anya came back in season 4 is when I fell in love with them as a couple. By season 7, I was rooting for them more than anything else on the show. I think through all of seasons 4 through 7, they were really the one thing I felt was constant and worked. I like Tara/Willow as a ship, but Xander/Anya was the one I really rooted for and really felt could have worked.

Anya is easily one of my favorite characters on either Buffy or Angel. To be honest though, i'm not a big fan of Xander. I only like this ship because its the only one we ever got to see Anya in
 
I loved Xanya, they were the true comedic couple of the show that provided a lot of lightness amidst all of the horror and mayhem. My favourite moment would have to be them singing I'll Never Tell, thought it was hilarious the first time I watched it.
 
Definitely my second favourite pairing after Spuffy. If anyone was going to get married on Buffy it was them, and they came so close 🙁 Despite the ending Hells Bells is one of my favourite episodes for them as it really brings out the difficulties Xander is struggling with and it allows Anya to begin the process of finding her own identity and not be so clingy, as she starts to develop in the rest of season 6 and season 7. I can really sympathise with both characters, and of course the song in OMWF, I'll never Tell is another highlight moment for them 🙂
 
Loved Xander and Anya together... They completely adorable and funny together, and I was heartbroken for both of them when Xander left Anya at the altar. 🙁
I think they are the one couple on the show who could have lasted the test of time. Too bad we'll never know now.
