Posting about drabbles in the Spuffy thread reminded me of these. I wrote them a few months ago. It's kind of a meme/writing exercise - a fun one, to write something on the spur of the moment, inspired by the song and you only have the length of the song to write in.

Put your music player on shuffle. Pick a fandom, ship or character. Write for the duration of the song - and only the duration of the song - using the song as a prompt.

These aren't betaed.

There was a knot in the wood of the crate he was leaning against, and Spike found himself fascinated by it. The whorls and lines of it were mesmerising, and he found that if he concentrated his gaze there, and on nothing else, then he could forget "“ just for a moment.

The rocking motion of the boat was soothing, and the rumbles of the ship's engine helped drown out the voices. He had no idea of where the ship was, nor how long it would be until he was back in the States. He didn't even know how long they had been on the water. The concept of time had been lost to him ever since he'd left the cave.

Gazing at the scrubbed wood of the crate, his focus narrowed to two things: getting back to Buffy, and ignoring the voices.

He gripped the crate, holding on for dear life.

It hurt.

"Slayer?"

Buffy turned her head, wiping underneath her eyes, trying to hide the fact that she had been crying.

"What's wrong?"

She remembered another time he had asked her the same question. She had been crying then, too.

"Nothing." She sighed. "Everything."

She heard the heavy tread of his boot and the creak of leather as he sat down next to her.

"Gettin' to be a bit of a recurring theme with us pet, eh?" He gestured to the porch steps, and smiled.

She couldn't help but smile back. "I guess."

"What is this, the third time?" He nudged her with his shoulder. "We've got to stop meeting like this."

"What do you want, Spike?"

He shrugged. "Just thought I'd see how you were doing. After"”"

"Don't."

"Slayer"¦"

"Everything's wrong," Buffy said. "It's all a lie."

Spike stared at her. She had tear tracks down her cheeks, and her make-up was smudged, but he thought she looked as beautiful as ever.

"What's a lie?"

"This." Buffy shrugged. "I've been lying to everyone since I came back. My friends"¦ Giles"¦ my sister"¦ none of them know where I really was." She looked at him. "You're the only one I've told."

Spike wanted to reach out, cover her hand with his. His fingers twitched, but he didn't move. "And I'm grateful, pet. Got to wonder though, why you've told the big, bad vampire and not your mates."

"You're different," Buffy said. "You don't judge. You just let me be. I like that."

"Know how difficult it must have been s'all." Spike glanced at her again, wondering whether to chance the hand. He slid his fingers along the smooth wood of the step he was sitting on. She didn't flinch away.

"It'll be okay, love." He put his hand on hers. "Everything will be all right."

Spike lay in bed, staring at the dust motes caught in a beam of sunlight. He'd been human for almost two years now "“ having shanshued after the battle in L.A. "“ but he still wasn't used to it.

He turned to Buffy, loving the sight of her in the sunlight. In that moment, he thought he might love her more than ever. "Marry me?"

The days after Buffy's death were the worst of his life. Unlife. Whatever.

After the battle, the sun had risen, forcing him to run for cover, when all he had wanted to do was lie down next to her and try to will her back to life.

He had stumbled back to his crypt, legs half-broken and his body bruised and bloodied. In so much pain that when sleep overtook him he welcomed the oblivion.

On waking, he thought it had all been a bad dream "“ one of the many since he had been taken by Glory and the threat made even more real. But then he remembered the fight, the horror of seeing Dawn tied to the top of the tower, Doc gutting him and throwing him from the tower, and then"”

It hurt to think of it.

Twilight

""¦and he was calling himself Twilight."

Spike snorted in derision.

"I know, completely lame, right? But I can't help what my subconscious makes up." Buffy shrugged, and burrowed deeper beneath the sheets.

"Dents a man's ego a bit, pet," Spike said. "Here in my arms after another night of devastatingly good sex and you wake up dreaming of the big poof?" He clasped a hand to his chest dramatically. "That hurts."

"Oh, however can I make it up to you?"

"I can think of a few ways."

He started kissing up her neck and she sighed in happiness. "Oh, Twiliâ"

"Slayer!"

Feet

Buffy had always thought feet were kind of gross. They were weird, occasionally smelly, and on the whole? Pretty disgusting. Athlete's foot, calluses, bunions"¦ She shuddered. Just the thought was enough to make her feel ill.

Somehow, after another bout of the sex she pretended she wasn't having, she and Spike had ended up top and tail in his bed. He lay flat on his back, snoring lightly, sheets covering the important parts, arms flung wide and feet sticking out the covers.

His feet were pretty unremarkable, as far as feet went. She'd never thought about Spike having feet before. Oh, she knew he had them. He was human"”well, human-shaped"”of course he had feet. But she'd never thought about them before. Why would she? When she was fantasizing"¦ er"¦ thinking about Spike, his feet weren't usually the focus.

His hands, however"¦ she'd had a lot of nice thoughts about those. And his arms. Shoulders. Co"”But! That wasn't the point. The point was two very normal-looking feet, currently right next to her face, and the stupid, childish idea that had suddenly formed in her mind.

Buffy sat up slightly, thinking that all the sex had to have gone to her head if she was contemplating feet of all things. Slipping out of the bed, she quietly gathered her clothes and dressed, hoping all the while that Spike was as out-for-the-count as he looked.

She bit her lip when he shifted, one hand moving to rest on his stomach, and she was momentarily distracted from rooting in her bag by his tight muscles and smooth skin. She shook herself and approached the bed, small pink bottle firmly grasped in hand.

Several neat and precise brush strokes later, Buffy had to smother a giggle at the sight before her. Spike lay flat on his back, sheets covering the important parts, arms flung wide and feet sticking out of the covers"”now with bright pink toenails.

She left the crypt without looking back, except for when she did turn around to check he wasn't awake, and not to ogle, of course"”childish giggles bubbling up inside.

Feet were gross. Strange looking. Kinda nauseating. But tonight, for five minutes, they had made her smile, and that was kind of amazing.

Pairing: Spike/Buffy
Summary: Spike tries the art of persuasion.

Please, Slayer?

"No. I'm not doing that. Nuh-uh!"

"Oh, come on, Slayer! Please?" Spike pouted.

"No! It's bad"¦ and wrong and"¦ and creepy!"

"Come on pet, you'll love it. Do this for me," he leered, "and I'll"¦ do anything you want."

"Anything I want?" Buffy's eyes glazed over, as she lost herself in daydreams of Spike's talented"¦ parts.

"Yeah love, whatever you want," he smirked.

"Ohh no," Buffy frowned, "I see what you tried to do there. So not going to work, mister!"

"But Buffy"¦ luv"¦ you don't understand, I need[] to"¦"

"No, Spike. Not happening. I'm not watching Passions with you!"

LOL, now that's funny!
That was brillant. :biggrin3: I wish they'd talked about Passions more on the show, would have made for some more funny moments. Infact i would have loved to have seen what you wrote in an actual episode. You made me laugh, i didn't see the passions comment coming. :biggrin3:

Set in season six, sometime after Wrecked. Spike takes Buffy to another demon bar. I'm not sure why he's doing the open-mic thing, but eh... just go with it. 😀 Not betaed, 261 words.

Fire

“…'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire.”

Buffy could feel his gaze on her, burning in its intensity as she took a seat. She nodded to the scaly-demon behind the bar and he handed her a drink. The liquid burned as she swallowed and she finally allowed herself to look up at the makeshift stage, not surprised in the least at the way his eyes were fixed on hers.

“…you had a hold on me right from the start, a grip so tight I couldn't tear it apart.”

She shivered, the lyrics of the song hitting a little too close to home. She hated it. Hated him for doing this, for thinking he loved her.

The demons in the bar seemed to be enjoying the performance, waving their arms in the air and cheering, but Buffy paid them no mind, her attention focused solely on Spike and the far-too-sensual way he was caressing the microphone stand.

She felt it then, that little frisson of heat in her lower belly that Spike had no right igniting. It twisted and burned as she watched him, the look and sound and sight of him sending tingles down her spine.

He met her eyes once more and a slow smirk spread across his face. “You say you don't love me, but I know you’re a liar. ’Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire.”

The spark lit, the flames ignited and later, when he had her pressed against the wall of his crypt, his mouth hot and hard against hers, she could do nothing but let it burn.

***

The song in this is 'Fire'... and I have no idea who sang it first. But James Marsters has a cover. I altered the lyrics just a little to fit more with S6 Spike and Buffy. Sadly, I can no longer find this video on youtube. :/

Unbetaed.

Treats

This had to be the most disgusting thing she'd ever done.

Demon guts and monster goo"”a walk in the park compared to this.

It had seemed like a good idea when she'd thought of it. A treat for Spike, something nice for him to wake up to.

Now all he had to look forward to was a messy kitchen and one very brassed off Slayer, elbow-deep in a bowl full of what looked like cat vomit. If cat vomit had blood in it.

She picked up a clump of mixture and tried to shape it into a ball, but it fell back into the bowl with a wet slop. "There is nothing salvageable about this," she said. "Definitely the last time I try to make donuts for a vampire."

***

Inspired by my sister, who, when watching Buffy and eating a donut, said, "Would donuts for vampires have blood in them instead of jam?"

Title: Fix Me
Fandom: BtVS with slight Twilight mockage
Rating: PG-13 for language
Pairing: None
Summary: During his stay at the Initiative, Spike discovers that there's something worse than being chipped"¦

Fix Me

"Prepare the Hostile for testing."

"Yes ma'am." Riley nodded and walked to where they'd dumped the vampire, stripping it of its coat and shirts. He chained its wrists together with heavy iron manacles, and looped them around a pole that had been driven into the ground.

"Clear the test area." Professor Walsh's voice was loud and tinny as it sounded over the PA system.

There was a flurry of movement as young men in camouflage gear and doctors in white coats fled from the clearing, lining up in a circle around the Hostile to watch the proceedings.

Riley smirked as he saw the vampire begin to wake, moaning and clutching its head, its face morphing into the demon visage as it noticed the chains. Served it right. Disgusting creature.

"What the bloody hell is going on here?" it shouted, glaring around the clearing.

"You will remain silent," Walsh said, tone clipped and angry. "Gates, Miller, remove the canopy on my count. Three"¦ two"¦ one"¦"

"Oi! What are you wankers doing? Did the Slayer set this up? I'll bloody kill her!"

The wide canvas canopy that covered the top of the clearing began to roll back, and Riley watched as the vampire's eyes widened and it began to strain at the manacles around its wrists.

"It's the middle of the bloody day! Let me out of here, I'll dust!"

"Now, now, Hostile 17. You might be luckier than your predecessors."

The vampire didn't cease its struggles, and Riley narrowed his eyes in satisfaction, remembering what had happened to Hostiles 14, 15 and 16 when they had undergone this experiment. There was something so satisfying about watching these monsters explode into dust.

The canopy was almost halfway across the clearing when the bright rays of the mid-afternoon sunlight began to hit the Hostile.

Riley was surprised to see that the vampire had stopped trying to strain away from the sun and was now standing up, head tilted defiantly in the professor's direction.

"If you're gonna take me out, I'm not goin' on my knees."

"Oh, I don't think you're going anywhere at all." Walsh smiled in satisfaction.

"What the bleedin' hell?" Hostile 17 stretched its arms out, examining them in the sunlight. "What the hell have you ****ers done to me? Turn me back! Fix me!"

Riley couldn't take his eyes off the hostile. Looked like the experiment had finally been successful.

The vampire was sparkling.

Hostile 17 growled suddenly, a look of absolute horror on its face. "You've turned me into Edward bloody Cullen! I look like a soddin' pansy! I'moing to bloody well kill you all!"

Riley glanced at Professor Walsh and met her eyes with a triumphant grin. "Just wait until it finds out about the chip."
