This is probably gonna be a really strange thread, but I thought what the heck. I just wanna know if I'm the only person that has a deep, whole-hearted yearning for something like the Buffyverse to exist in the real world.

I suppose it could be the need for real people to believe in heroes and the wish for yourself to be a hero. I guess it's the same reason we read fantasy novels, read comics, and watch movies. But I seem to feel that I have a stronger yearning for all of the elements of the Buffyverse.

Am I the only one?

I know what you are saying...I think, lol. Well, I always wondered and sometimes wished that something in the Buffyverse could be true. Even though their lives were incredibly tough or horrible, I think that many people wish their lives could be similar. Even with the daily, life threatening attacks from vampires, demons, and other supernatural forces.

I mean, doesn't everyone wish they had amazing friends, that, even through everything that happens, they come out friends in the end? Personally, I wish I could have friends like that. My past friends and even current friends are great. I have a lot of fun hanging out with them, but we are not that close, you know? The Buffyverse gang, even when they grew apart over the years, eventually came back to each other and were still the same people and the same friends. There was interview about that in the Season 4 featurettes on the Buffy DVD's, I think...

Well, I also think that to some people, the idea of vampire, demons, and supernatural forces are so interesting that the idea of it actually existing is incredibly appealing. It would, on some level, be very interesting. But, personally, I think I would be scared to death! The idea of being a hero or super strong or whatever, would be very appealing, but there are drawbacks and consequences.

I guess I've rambled on for a bit now. Well, later.

I know what you mean...But mostly i just wish I was in Btvs with the people, so I could tell them when they were being idiots! lol
But yeah, I get what you mean. I guess people want someone who can save the world...

Yeah... I wish that it does exist. I'm not really sure why though... I just believe in such things, but I don't think that there's a town that's like constantly attacked by supernatural beings but just ignore it all.

It's not a strange thread. I think the Buffyverse has affected alot of people in a very positive way. I know sometimes when I need a break from work I go outside and sit on the bench and that's often what I think about...just everything wonderful about the show...how the gang dealt with horrors that although they may be represented by vampires and demons, often do really exist in the world.

Besides, who wouldn't want to be as cool as Buffy 🙂

I would like to live in the buffyverse for several reasons. I would like magic and would love to work with Buffy or Angel and live the lives but also on the other hand I don't want the death and the angst. Its a double-edged sword really.

I agree with you AshSan, it would be pretty awesome to work with people such as Buffy and Angel. Or even to know that people such as that exist and maybe how you could help. Besides I want my own OMWF song. ::rolf::

Yes! Exactly! My friends and I go slaying at night. Not like there are vamps to kill though. Anyway, I would like to be a hero like Buffy. A slayer at that. Thats why I wrote a thirteen season story with two spexial stories, about the first and only male slayer, me. So I think most fans would want this

I think the reason people love the show so much, is cos almost no matter what problem you have, you can find something similar that has happened in the show...And itæs the kinda show that makes you think. It's not something you watch and have fun watching, and then forget it afterwoods. It's the kinda show that sticks in your head, and you can think about it for hours after...with the best episodes, for days. weeks! And it's so easy to relate to the different characters, and like you can understand them. You know them, and love them. And you wish you could be there with them.

Your not the only one...don't worry...i believe with you in that it's a psycological need for people to believe in a larger than life hero...

I guess that's why I'm becoming a cop then...

Wow...our own real life hero to come and save the day...lol

I think we would be comforted in knowing there was always someone there to save the world in case of an oncoming apocalypse...lol
