Yet another newbie

Hi all! I'm Gaby, a new fan to the Whedonverse, but man I am so hooked. Just finished Buffy for the first time the other day (even though my DVDs wouldn't play the Basking For Trouble/Main Titles scene for "Chosen" and I can't have it exchanged since I bought the season more than six months ago... like my first thought is to check the very last episode of a show I've never seen to make sure it plays in full) and have about 14 episodes to go before I finish Angel. So I'll be a little cautious/maybe a little sparse on these boards until I'm caught up on Whedonverse things. I'm so excited for Dr. Horrible, but I won't watch it until I'm done with Firefly/Serenity.

For those wondering, my plan is to do this:
June 30th: (today) Angel 5x9 and 5x10
July 1st: Angel 5x11 and 5x12
July 2nd: Angel 5x13 and 5x14
July 3rd: Angel 5x15, 5x16, 5x17, and 5x18 (four a day starting here because I'm gonna be going home this day; right now, I'm taking two summer courses hence the slow rate of two a day)
July 4th: Angel 5x19, 5x20, 5x21, and 5x22
July 5th: Firefly 1x01 and 1x02 (back to slowing down since there's only 14 episodes plus a movie)
July 6th: Firefly 1x03
July 7th: Firefly 1x04
July 8th: Firefly 1x05
July 9th: Firefly 1x06
July 10th: Firefly 1x07
July 11th: Firefly 1x08
July 12th: Firefly 1x09 and 1x10
July 13th: Firefly 1x11
July 14th: Firefly 1x12
July 15th: Firefly 1x13
July 16th: Firefly 1x14
July 17th: Serenity and Dr. Horrible Part 1
July 18th: Dr. Horrible Part 2
July 19th: (also my 21st birthday!) Dr. Horrible Part 3

I think it's so awesome that Dr. Horrible part 1's premiering exactly one year after I watched my first Buffy episode in its entirety and part 3 premieres on my birthday. It's like the series was made for me!

Anyway, after my birthday, I'll catch up on comics. Hopefully I'll get some for my birthday!

Oh and there are two Firefly episodes on Saturdays because I'm gonna be watching it with an Australian on another Whedonverse-friendly board I'm a part of so we're only gonna watch two a day when it's weekend for both of us which means Saturday for me and Sunday for her. (It wasn't even going to be that until I learned Dr. Horrible was only going to be online for free until the 20th and so I proposed to my friend that we watch 2 a day on the days where it's weekend for both of us so that we could get in on the Dr. Horrible streaming for free event.)

(i'm very shamed to admit that i've never watched Firefly and only seen bits of Serenity, even though the DVDs are all in my house -that is my husband's obsession)
 
Hey thanks for the warm welcome, Tranquillity and lee (I like the nickname BG, I've had other board peeps call me that before, hee)! Yeah, I'm so detail-oriented and organised when it comes to stuff like this, but when it comes to my room? Couldn't be farther from the truth. Hopefully, I can step away from the Internet long enough to do some cleaning of my dorm room before Mom comes down on Wednesday 😉

Also, Tranq, I love Spike, too. He is probably my favourite character that has significantly appeared on both Buffy and Angel. Willow is my favourite of Buffy (even though she's appeared in a few episodes of Angel, she's more Buffy camp than combined camp) and Lindsey is my favourite of Angel (was so surprised when I saw him in 5x8 last night!). Willow's my external hard drive's name and Lindsey's my laptop's name, hee. And I think "Fool for Love" is my favourite Buffy episode. I just love the editing (this is also why I love "Normal Again" which is my second favourite) and then when they came back to it in season 7? Love! Even though I didn't really warm up to Robin Wood that much. Also, where's Brisvegas in Australia? I'm planning on living in Melbourne, I think, after I spend the year after I graduate from college (which is May 2009) in Wellington, NZ. NZ from September 2009 to September 2010; Australia from September 2010 to late April 2011.

And also YAY!! - someone else that does 'lists' - nothing like a good list to get you organised - my husband laughs at me because I make lists/schedules for things all the time.

I think that has something to do with me being a perfectionist....although I do alot of things on impulse too... go figure! 😀
 
Thanks for the welcome, edb! Horray for list-making fun! And I must have refreshed this board at just the right moment because I subscribed to this thread to get notified when someone new replied and I hadn't gotten the e-mail yet when I saw you posted 😀 *dork*

Yeah, I'm a perfectionist, too. Probably comes with being the oldest! Hehe. Well I'm finished with 5x9 now so just one more for the day.
 
Hi Gaby! Wow, you´re off to a great start. You´re going to feel right at home. Looking for new friends? Then The Sorting Tome - Buffy-Boards is your place to start. Feeling a little confused by the whole bb-experience (it´s a big place)? Why don´t you get adopted? Bad Eggs - Buffy-Boards I usually don´t mention that part but I´d love to have the chance to be there first. I probalby won´t be, but it would be nice to have the chance.

And don´t worry I´m getting to the transcript.

I know the feeling. I want to be first so I can use mine. Why do you think I´m here all day? 😉 But since I rarely am anyway, I always end up changing it. Or maybe add a little something. Oh well.
