Is there any one Whedonverse character that you could just SWEAR is in your head? Or maybe a combination of characters? Who shares your same sense of humor? ...because I'm pretty sure Joss Whedon steals my jokes. ;P

Are you an uber-geek who tells your jokes in Klingon? Do you make short, noncomittal statements with a straight face and impeccable comedic timing like our favorite werewolf? Are you strangely literal like Anya? Or are you the "kid sister" trying your best to live up to the same standard of funny as those around you, only to discover that you're the only one laughing? Maybe you're a total space cadet whose only audience is her dolly? Maybe your jokes are dry, sarcastic and full of swagger like Blondie Bear's? Or like Angel doesn't dance (and for a good reason), do you stick to the brooding, tortured soul routine?

Feel free to give an example or two of a time when you couldn't help but excitedly shout at the TV, "We're like sense-of-humor sisters! ...with really different hair."

Share a funny story or conversation of your own. Make us laugh. It's good for the soul! ...if you have one. 😛

Awesome thread! And I love the title.

I don't know who's sense of humor is most similar to mine.... I'm not sure I can label mine....but it's very childish - in the sense that really simple things cause me extreme amusement and entertainment.

I love everyone's sense of humor on the show though!
 
Oh, and do feel free to include non-Buffy (but still Whedonverse!) characters in the responses (Firefly, Dollhouse, etc...)! Maybe you're a genius with a warped (but funny) sense of right and wrong? Or maybe you spend too much time making "I'll be in my bunk" jokes...

I have most in common with Giles' restrained sense of humor. Sometimes, however, If I want to let loose, I can sound like Spike.
 
I went with Cordelia. "Spank your innet moppet" is something I would say ahahahah
 
I voted for Faith, because of this dialogue from when Faith was getting the box of acension:

Vampire: You killed him!
Faith: What are you, the narrarator?

I was just thinkign that when she said it, and this thread is great because nwo everyone knows the writers stole it from my thoughts.
 
Oz and Simon (Firefly) spring to mind for me, mostly... the Simon connection especially is almost scary in how much he resonates with me. There's also a good smattering of Giles, Tara, and Lorne added for spice.

I am quite relieved that I grew out of my resemblance to the Bad Hair Dude, though... a big part of why I can't stand that prick is how much he reminds me of the prick I used to be. : paperbag
 
I'm pretty sarcastic and can be rather perverted. I'd say either Spike or Faith for me.
 
Sometimes Oz, sometimes Spike, sometimes Angel...honestly haha every character has said at least one thing that makes me think, "Sounds like something I'd say..." for example:

"Is everyone here very stoned?" -Spike

"I love syphilis more than you." -Spike

"Oh, no, practice. See, our band's kind
of moving towards this new sound where...
we suck, so...practice."- Oz (mostly it's just Oz's...demeanor that reminds me of myself. How you can't tell whether or not he's being serious or sarcastic and...
Xander: Is it because you always tend to express yourself in short, non-commital sentences? I do this occasionally. Drives people insane)

Cordelia: I don't think there can be a crazier plan
Oz: We attack the mayor with humus

"Yeah, yeah, she's actually an evil
mastermind. It's fun." (in response to Larry claiming that Willow's innocent school girl thing is just an act) -Oz

"Well, did you try looking inside the sofa in hell?" -Willow

"What should we do with the trio over here? Should we burn them?" -Buffy
"I brought marshmallows." -Willow

Snyder: It's worth nothing, Harris. Whatever comes out of your mouth is a meaningless waste of breath. An airborne toxic event.
Xander: Well, I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to be so honest with me. And I can only hope that one day I'm in the position to be that honest with you. (I'd probably say Snyder's line to someone hahah...as a joke of course, but I don't think I'd be able to come up with Xander's response on the spot like that)

"I'm wondering, where do I start? A card, fruit basket, hmm? Evisceration?" -Angelus

Overall...if I had to choose one person, I think Buffy and I have a very similar sense of humor.

"First of all, Martha Stewart knows jack about hand-cut prosciutto."

"Sorry, that's incorrect. But, you do get this watch and a year's supply of turtle wax. What I want is to be left alone."

Except that she's wittier than me...I don't think it's possible to be so naturally witty.

Grr...actually, I can't pick. Her humor isn't really dark enough. Maybe Angelus and I have the most similar sense of humor...mua.ha.ha except he's not really...joking. I personally don't find myself that funny, I have my occasional witty moments (and they're usually accidental...heh) and I'm the most sarcastic person on the planet. I try so hard not to be on here because it comes off as rude or mean spirited at times haha. I have a very dark sense of humor and often times, people take me seriously. I'm pretty sure that the people who do, think that I'm secretly a mass murderer or something....😀.
 
I am Anya. My sense of humour is bang on hers and we make the same sort of comments. I am strangely literal sometimes and my comments tend to make people feel uncomfortable.
 
I'm a cross between Oz and Anya. I'm most like Oz in most areas, but as far as my sense of humor, I'm both. Sometimes I can do the dead pan humor like Oz, but most of the time, I say the most vulgar and awkward things, and they often end up hilarious. But I say what's on my mind, like Anya, and that's where a lot of my humor comes from. I'm strangely literal, like [MENTION=7407]caitaintdead[/MENTION]. 🙂
 
I say strange things on occasion like Willow, but I'm usually just openly sarcastic, like s4 Spike.

I'm a lot like Cordelia, but I'm not as mean. Like, I say mean things, but I say them sarcastically, and my friends know I'm joking. If I don't joke with you, it means I don't like you. I've come to learn that about myself.
 
I'm pretty sarcastic in RL, and I retort quite a bit in put downs, the joking kind. Witty banter and all that. So I chose Spike. I also tend to talk in Buffyspeak, though.
