I think I've got a really good one that happened to me just this week.

We had to write a five paragraph essay in my College Prep. English about a work of literature where one character betrays another. Pressed for time (We only had forty-mintues to work on it), I basically dug deep for inspiration. And what did I end up doing?

How Faith betrays Buffy in S3. 😛 Seven or eigh paragraphs in total. I justify it being literature because of the script.

-When you watch an episode of Supernatural that has Amy Acker in it, your fan side can't help but wonder why Fred's all the way down South.

-You own almost all (Sole exception being S5) the seasons in the slim cases, and you want to get the older sets because they have more artwork.

-You've had at least one dream where a Buffy/Angel character makes an appearance

-You check out all nine of the local library's Buffy novels, and try to read them all before the due date (October 12th. Four down, five to go.)

-You decide to do your Grad. Project on something Buffy related. (I'm writing a Buffy/Charmed crossover that would take place during Buffy S2, and Charmed S1.)

-You spend hours on Amazon.com looking at Buffy stuff

You know you're obsessed when...

-You react to tough situations by thinking, "what would Buffy/Angel do?" (I do that ALL the time, and actually, I find it works pretty well)

-You get the Angel words from "Deep Down" (the "we live in the world..." quote he's so famous for) tattooed on your back with the Stark direwolf from Game of Thrones in the EXACT same spot Angel has his griffon tattoo (I'm seriously considering it. Have the design drawn up).

-Spend far too many weekends alone and in lieu of friends envision Buffy as your actual girlfriend. (Um...yeah. Not much I can say to that one...)

-Write fan fiction with all of your favorite shows and comics in one big, shared universe with you as Robin (it takes place during Buffy S1) and Buffy as the female lead...

-Have Buffy be pretty much the last thing you think about before falling asleep. Every. Single. Night. (Okay, okay, I'm done. And yes, I do realize I have a VERY long running crush/obsession with a certain blond Slayer)

Okay, apparently not done.

-You know you're obsessed with Buffy when you make Torrance High School (Sunnydale High) an essential part of your trip (which I did, and it was awesome).

-When every girl you've been involved with has had blond hair (I think I'm recognizing a theme here too)

Mom tells me to get something out of the car at night?

What would Buffy do?

Grandma tells me to take out the trash at 10pm?

What would Buffy do?

Giant spider leaps on my face?

Die. Yeah...not even Buffy can empower me in a situation like that. I am freaking out just thinking about something like that happening. Ugh.

Haha I used to ask myself that when I was younger. Worked every time. My friends found that pretty amusing. I realized today how ridiculous it is that I know what episode number most episodes of BtVS are. I watched Angel for the first time last year and I put in the last disc of season 2 expecting it to be the Pylea arc and I thought, "What the hell?? I'd never do that with Buffy." because I know that show like...my face. Yeah. My face!

I am sick. I'm slightly delusional. Okyayayyay why don't they sell real nyquil anymore!?!?!? I apologize.

-When you know every line to at least 1 episode and, when you pop-in the DVD, you say each line at the same time (or just before) the characters do.

Got another one from last night

-You have a dream where you bought the UK copies of the Seasons, and when you wake up, you desperatly wish you had the money to get them off of Amazon.com

- When you know every line to your face episodes and say them at the same time as the character.

- When you see all these new vampire shows and say " none of them do it like Buffy."

- When you collect soo much Buffy stuff you can barely move in your room.

- When your daughter trying to impersonate a monster and goes "Grrr" and you respond with "Argh"

When something really annoys me and my best friend, we rant and finish with "grrr" at the end. We can't remember the last time a rant happened without the listener replying with "Arrgh" afterwards.

When you spend so much on Buffy merch (collector cards in particular) that your bank account which read over £2200 six months earlier reads £6.

When you reminisce with friends about Thursday nights when Buffy was followed by Angel which was then followed by UFC and how TV just isn't that awesome anymore.

When you join and leave the fandom when yo're young and foolish.

When you re-join the fandom over a decade later because the show still resonates, even though you should know better 🙂

You're four days away from running a Buffy RPG at your games club 😀

Out of curiosity, what is it about the UK copies that makes you want them?

I did an entire English assignment on Buffy when I was in the 9th grade... We had to conceptualise a documentary and then present a pitch for the doco in an oral presentation. It was a cool assignment, and my English teacher loved Buffy, so my documentary was about all the factors in Buffy that led it to being such a phenomenal hit and an analysis of the characters and the show's use of metaphor. I'm sure I still have it somewhere, lol.

All my friends immediately guessed what I was doing as soon as we were given the task. Maybe I'm too obsessed?

Love your banner!!!
- When you write a Buffy fanfic for a school assignment.

- When you compare every TV show to Buffy.

- When you're going through a tough time and then think "Be strong like Buffy".

All true for me anyway. 🙂

-You actually consider buying critical essays on Buffy, until you see how expensive they are on Amazon.....I still want them though
-You plan on doing your graduation project on a fanfic crossover of Buffy and Charmed
-You use a Buffy calendar
-You have all the seasons on DVD, and you know exactly what disk an episode is on
-When you're watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, you draw comparisons to the characters on Buffy (Libby-Cordelia, Harvey-Xander, Sabrina-Buffy, etc)

When you can name the title of any episode just from the smallest, most minor description or detail from the episode.

Also when you are at the grocery store and the song "Mandy" comes on, and you automatically think of Angel....yeah that just happened to me..and it made me smile!

I also seem to notice everything that has ties to Buffy in any way.
For example, I decided to start watching that American Horror Story show, my mom thinks it is great so I started season 1. I notice right away that the house the show takes place in is the same house in Fear Itself, and in episode 2 I spot the same girl that played Cassie in "Help"....

I am aware this is probably old news by now, but for me it was exciting because it is the first time I was aware of it 😀

I do this all the time. Every time I find an actor in a movie or tv show that was at one time on Buffy or Angel, it makes me all happy and giddy!

Don't feel bad. I saw Fred in Supernatural when I started watching it
I would have never have kept watching HIMYM had it not been for the numuious Buffy refrances thoughout the series

-You start watching "The Ringer" purely because SMG is in it, but you grow to love it
-You learn how to play "Under Your Spell" and "Walk Through The Fire" on an actual guitar
-Your flashdrive mainly consists of BtVS/Angel fanfics and photos
-You quote the show constantly
-You plan on watching "Amends" on Christmas Eve

When you have to write "a day in the life of..." for your Ancient World class and you choose to do it on a random character, whom you name after Cordelia. (first character name with A as the last letter that came to my mind)
