Cracker Barrel comes to Southern California

If you stand in line (at 5am!!) waiting for a new for a new Cracker Barrel to open, you are definitely a red neck. On the plus side, it's a break from swigging Budweiser and wife-beating, so...yay...?

[B-]Southern-loving Angelenos have previously had to travel out of state for their taste of Cracker Barrel, but soon that expense will be no more. As of February 5, Victorville will be the siteof the company’s first Golden State location, with more to come in the Central Valley and further north down the line.[/b]

I wonder if that means that they will finally get to taste sweet ice tea and Southern style corn bread? Get the West Coasters used to real Southern cooking, and a whole new world will open up to them. Once they get a taste of chicken and dressing, pinto beans, sweet potato pie. they might become plumb civilized.

I don't think they're quite ready for grits and scrambled eggs, though.

Beware of BBHV, it turns everyone into rednecks.

(BBHV = Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. The last President Bush paid a lot to have it exported to him while he was POTUS and I can't say I blame him.)

I feel personally attacked by his thread.

😛 Just kidding.

Although I do feel pity for those of you who have never experienced a chicken fried steak from Cracker Barrell or those who don’t understand that many of us would risk Lysteria to eat Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Additional shout out to those who grew up thinking In and Out is the best burger joint out there - umm no - that’s Whataburger.

One of the few decisions I supported Bush on! 😉

whataburger is the bomb!
Whataburger is the same as jack n the box or Burger King or any other cheapo fast food burger. Why do people in Texas think so highly of it?

OMG no its not! I feel very strongly about this lol.

Jack in the box and Burger King do not have fresh all beef patties - cooked to order... and with mustard (unless you tell them no)! And they don't have Whataburger ketchup.... And Whataburger fries are so much better than burger king's (although I do love JitB curly fries...) Plus the patty melt. BK and Jack in the crack do not have that.

But its funny because one of my super good friends is from LA and literally all we fight about is In and Out v. Whataburger lol.

Wait, I thought Burger King did that. Isn't that the whole Have It Your Way commercial thing?

I liked me some Hookers back in the day too. That was some good eating.

Oh do they? I haven't been to burger king since I was a kid. I have never liked their burgers. Do they offer you options for like jalapenos? Or cheddar cheese? Like Whataburger does?

Wendy's also says "fresh never frozen" burgers but I don't believe it. They taste like they have been frozen.

See that's what I'm saying. It's not like they have fresh cows back there. They have to freeze the meat to transport it right?

Lol. I get that Texans love it, I just don't get why. I've tried it twice and both times was appalled by the love it gets. It didn't impressed me even a little, in fact I would choose other fast food over it in a heartbeat.

In n out is tasty, but I'd never argue it's the best fast food burger. Shake Shack is better.

@dcai0830 "It's not like they have fresh cows back there" that would be cool. Like picking out your lobster, or the new sushi place in NYC where you can actually fish and catch the fish you want to make your sushi from.

I could go for a selection of cow. That would be awesome. Walking up and down the row, seeing the hope and aspiration in their eyes hoping I pick them. Just holding onto that rose trying to decide which one to give it to. That would make me want to eat meat again actually.

Shake Shack is better.
Shake Shack is some over-rated crap. I knew someone was gonna pull a Shake Shack outta their hindparts. I just thought it would have been someone else. It's like... I don't even know you anymore brinkstar. You're breaking my heart.

Breaking your heart brings me joy.
Shake Shack is better.

We have had a Shake Shack for sometime at the Galleria here but I'm too lazy to drive over there because its so crowded but I saw the other day that one is going up in my neighborhood so I'll give it a shot.

Anyway all of this talk has made me want Whataburger for dinner. So much for the lentil soup I had in the fridge!
