If you could magically transport yourself into one particular season of "Buffy" and use your knowledge of what was going to happen in order to avert whatever disaster that you choose, which one would it be and why?

For me, it would have to be Season 3, so that I could warn Faith to be on the lookout for Assistant Mayor Finch in that alley. Without that one accident, her entire life could have been changed for the better. She and Buffy could have become better friends, neither the Mayor nor Adam would have presented as much of a problem as they originally did, Glory could probably have been handled without anyone having to die...

Anyhow, that's the idea. You get to create one butterfly effect and project how events could be improved by your action.

Looking at this thread I think it's good that we can't. It seems the show would have gotten somewhat bland. ;-)
Buffy. Season 6. Gone. Remove that see-through top from Buffy's wardrobe. We ALL know the only reason she jumped in front of the invisibility ray was because she knew everyone was laughing at her!

Really? I'd have to jump in around season 3 and scoot Joyce off to the hospital every few weeks for a scan.

I'd choose s4, and tell the scoobies to just team up and beat Adam and he'd be dead by the time the I in team happened. It would've saved the falling out but the downside is they may have killed Spike too.

The day of Buffy's funeral, stop the Scoobies ruining EVERYTHING by bringing her back.

Oh! As an alternate I would go to IWRY and tell Buffy and Angel to enjoy the time they have together because their sacrifice really was for nothing.

I'd tell Buffy about what happened in IWRY. Didn't seem right that Angel knew and she didn't. To be honest if i was Angel i would have told her.

I agree but I think she would get seriously depressed...that's why I felt Angel was protecting her when he reversed the day
I'd teleport to Hell's Bells and kill the demon before it ever gets to Xander and talks him out of marrying Anya. Or maybe I'd teleport to Seeing Red and stop Warren from shooting Tara.

I would go to IWRY, and just tell them to enjoy this day, and I would like to change one thing - Buffy should remember everything. Memories sometimes hurt, but we are better with them 😉

Or maybe I would go to Wild at Heart and stop Oz from leaving.

I would also choose IWRY, I would tell them to live together cause some things, like Buffy dying can not be averted. It could be tomorrow or it could be in 1 year.

And of course I would go to season 6, I would beat the crap out of Willow to stop bring Buffy back, but if she succeedeed again, I would try to give some advice to Buffy about the obnoxious things she was about to...considering her and a certain vampire.

And what WA said about Faith. It would be really helpful to warn her . I agree.

I'd go over to Angel season five and make Spike call Buffy (wherever she is, in whatever canon you prescribe to). Then I'd make sure he got on a plane, or in a car, and went to her. Then they could work things out properly, and Spike could also fix things with Dawn. 🙂

Awww, sweet that you thought of Spike's relationship with Dawn. :)

Huh, why was the sacrifice for nothing.

She was destined to die, no matter what. That final year and half for Buffy were truly awful, she (and Angel) deserved some happiness, no matter how fleeting.
Huh, why was the sacrifice for nothing.

Maybe it's because she would die anyway, one year later.

I would teleported to stop Faith from killing Alan Finch too. Or I'll tell the Scoobies that Faith's gonna wake up from her coma in This Year's Girl so they can go to the hospital, lock her up and go rehab on her. 😀 And they would be team again.

BtVS wise, I'd go back to the time of the gypsys, and convince them to leave that whole "go evil with perfect happiness" clause out of the curse, because, y'know, if they don't they're only going to end up making more people suffer in the long run. Or I'd get someone else to curse Angelus before the Gypsys could. [Although a part of me just wants to tell Darla to pick a different present for Angelus, so that we get him for longer... hehe].

AtS wise, I'd love love love to be able to tell Angel about The Scourge, and the device, and tell him to find a way to disarm the thing without it killing either him or Doyle (like finding a "pure blood" demon on their side to do it).

Make Spike do it! :p

I was aware of that, but I sort of believe in the butterfly effect. If Angel had remained human and say for example Buffy died sooner protecting Angel and Willow at that point couldn't bring her back... well you get the picture.

I suppose this is a general point in this thread, we don't know what would have happened if these changes were made. Life is a story, if you change one of the plot lines, it just becomes another story with other possible pitfalls etc.

I was kind of thinking about Wes though and the fake prophecy. I'm not sure. Like I said, if you avoid one tragedy you'll just get another. And not having dark Wes, that would be a tragedy.

So true. I kept forgetting about that. ;)
I'd also tell Wes and Gunn about the whole Bros before Hos thing. That Fred doesn't deserve either of them and that they shouldn't let anyone tear their bromance apart.

LOL! Though I would miss Frunn and Fresley.
Buffy: So many good ones mentioned. Season 6, I'd tell Willow and Tara to stay in bed a little longer on the day that Warren drops by. Then Tara wouldn't get caught in the crossfire.

Angel: Season 4, I'd tell Cordelia not to become a higher power because it's all a trick. Then Jasmine would have no vessel for getting to Earth.
