Then why not use the special AWAY feature in your control panel?
Click on "edit profile" then "edit profile" again, scroll down a bit and you will see it! You can post an away message and post the date you will return.
When people send you PMs, they should get a message saying you are away (not sure if it always works though).
And when you come back to the boards, the away feature is turned off!
Also, it says 'away' under your AV
