This is being discussed in the discussion thread, but I think it needs its own thread.
In # 13 we learn the scythe still works. The young slayers (at least) can have their slayer power zapped out of them.
Is that necessarily a bad thing? As far as the series is concerned, I mean.
Buffy and Faith would still be slayers. The line would once more be one slayer, one chosen one. The mythology of Buffy would line up with Fray where there's also only one true slayer.
What seems to be this season's theme of Buffy destined to be alone could become more true.
I'd miss all the young slayers, but it would create some interesting possibilities for season 9. Satsu would return home, and that would solve the problem of what to do about her.
