My Impression was that It was Great, I loved it

Same, BB is the best site that I have ever joined. Everyone's nice 🙂

1. Why did you join BB?
I have been a diehard BtVS/Angel fan since 1997. When I was in high school, my friends jokingly called my room the BuffyCave, because my walls were completely covered in posters/ads featuring the cast members. As I grew older and the Internet evolved into what it is today, I started getting into forums and things. Since 2005, I'd joined a few groups, but they were mostly Facebook or Myspace-based groups about the shows... One day in 2008 I started a BtVS rewatch and thought "It would be awesome if I could find a really active community where people who love the show as much as I do still get together to talk about the show and its stars." I Googled and found BB and a few other sites, so I joined them all... BB was the only one I fell in love with. 🙂 This place is huge, but the people are friendly and the forum is so well-organized... I love it here!

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
I think I joined BB first, but on the same day as Buffy Forums and Slay Alive... I didn't like the rules system at Buffy Forums, and I experienced some nastiness on *********, so I deleted my account.

3. Your best BB moment?
I've had so many great moments here it's hard to choose... But being sorted into VH and then winning my awards at this year's Buffies, so far, have been my happiest. 🙂

4. Your worst BB moment?
Wash (TK) and Kean summed it up for me... There were a few months around here that made me hesitant to come to this place; it got that bad. 🙁 People were being so mean and rude and that was not how it had been up til that point. I think a few people got it in their heads that they ran the show around here and started abusing what power they thought they had. There were some personal attacks thrown around at me and some other members, and it resulted in some folks having to leave. It was a crappy time for BB and I'm glad it's over.

5. Your first impression of BB?
My first impression was that the board was way too big, and I'd never learn my way around the forum. But I also thought "Wow, these people are so nice, and they're all just as passionate as I am about the show, so this is awesome!" 🙂

6. Your impression of BB now?
There are a few things that are different around here, and while I'm sad that some of the people who were my favorite members when I first got here are no longer around, I still LOVE BB and will probably never leave. 🙂 This is my online home; I visit BB even more than the forum I own! LOL

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
My perception has changed a little, as far as who I can trust and how "open" I can allow myself to be, but I still think this place is by far the best and most awesome place I have ever found to "hang out" in online. 🙂

8. Anything else?
I really really ♥ this place. The staff here does a kick-ass job of trying to make it fun for everyone and to keep everyone feeling welcome and included. I am so appreciative to Buffy for keeping this board open and running, even through the craziness, and I consider this place my online family. 🙂

My Buffy obsession increased, and I had no-one, at the time; who liked Buffy, that I knew in person. I wanted people to talk to about the show, and thus, I came across the site.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first? -
Yeah, I think I did. I don't really remember any of them, though. I was on a lot of Buffy RPG sites back then, though, I remember that much.

3. Your best BB moment? -
Oh Gosh, I can't be sure. I can't think of anything that great that happened to me on the BB; so, I have no idea. I don't think I have a best BB moment. 😛

4. Your worst BB moment? -
Hm...Probably all the times I disappear; then coming back afterwards. It's really awkward, and I always feel like an outsider. D:

5. Your first impression of BB? -
Everyone seemed pretty friendly, and I liked it here; I didn't expect to stay, but, amazingly I did.

6. Your impression of BB now? -
Three years down the line, wow. I love it here; I'm actually pretty upset when I'm not around. I love everyone here. 🙂

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined? -
I think I've become closer to some of the members, so I'm more comfortable. I'd just turned twelve when I joined, and now I'm fifteen; and have matured, and I think as I've matured my love for the site has. I think I've realised there're people all over the world that love the same things as me, and I guess I just love the BB more now than I originally did.

8. Anything else? -
I plan on sticking around this time, and if I leave, you can drag me back; kicking and screaming. 😉

1. Why did you join BB?

I needed to find a place to talk about BtVS and Angel, and my friends who liked Buffy didn't like going into in dept discussions! I remember telling a friend my theory on why the Slayer line ran through Buffy in Season season, and just got black stares.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

Nope, I'd never joined a forum before, so googled Buffy forums and this is the first one I've ever joined.

3. Your best BB moment?

Ah man there is so many, but I think Anya Donkey. And becoming a Mod.

4. Your worst BB moment?

Eh yeah same as the others, that period were people were pretty crappy, some members were really off putting.

5. Your first impression of BB?
I got here and I loved it, it was excellently layed out, it was so organized there was none of that crappy flaming and troll stuff who hear so much about

It was so huge but the people were so nice, friendly and inviting.

6. Your impression of BB now?

My impression remains the same, that its still huge but know I know everywhere like the back of my hand, so it feels like home online.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

pretty much same as above!


8. Anything else?

I honestly believe this is the best forum online, as I said it was the first forum I joined and it set the bar really high, I've joined others but never stuck around, the disorganization or general ways the members conduct themselves have put me off.

I love how things evolve here, it isn't afraid to try different things and keep growing, and I think it's whats kept us alive so long, and I think that credit goes totally to Buffy Summers, she really knows what does and doesn't work on a forum!

Kean agrees: That BB awards where you stole GG's date, turned her into the Anya Donkey and then RODE her into the after party was one of the funniest things I have ever read! I nearly wet myself as itwas happening! lol

Just to clarify, cuz I always feel bad cuz people give me credit for it, but VisionGuy was the one who said it was actually just a donkey in an Anya wig, I gave her a face and then rode her to the after-party! lol

1. Why did you join BB? I got into the whole forum thing about a yr before Dollhouse aired. I was a pretty active member on a couple of sites (first Dollhouse Portal, then Dollhouse TV Forum) & then I kind of drifted away from it. I've always been a huge Joss Whedon fan & this just seemed a natural progression.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first? Nope, came here first, didn't leave.

3. Your best BB moment? Finding out about the whole Lyri/Kean thing. No forum session has ever made me laugh more🙂

4. Your worst BB moment? Don't have one.

5. Your first impression of BB? That it was huge & intense but in a good way. I have to admit to being more than a little freaked out by the 'shippers, I just didn't get it(see below)

6. Your impression of BB now? Totally not freaked out by 'shippers anymore. Having read a few threads, I now get it. It's not my thing but I get it.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined? See above I guess. Overall I just love the sense of community here. This place is a real haven, a sanctuary of Caritas preportions. I've never been on a friendlier & better behaved board.

1. Why did you join BB?
I've been a huge Buffy & Angel fan for years and I wanted to find a new place online to share my passion for it. Voila I found it although it took me a while to actually sign up.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Only the official sites from The CW and UPN. This was the first proper site and forum I came across.

3. Your best BB moment?
Being nominated for an art award last year. I had no idea people liked my art work so much. As well as being asked to run an art class by Angelic Slayer. Even though I had to sadly turn it down I felt honoured.

4. Your worst BB moment?
The big argument and the whole Edmund Blackadder thing. It still sends shivers down my spine.

5. Your first impression of BB?
Damn this place is huuuuuge! I'm going to get so lost.

6. Your impression of BB now?
Its a lovely place. It feels a little quieter than when I first started up but I still enjoy coming here. Everyone is so diverse and friendly.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I don't think it has much. Its such a unique place to come and join in the long and different chats spanning the Buffyverse. Its never boring and I feel at home here even I am elusive from my Merrick house at times.

8. Anything else?
I hope this forum continues as strongly as it has for years to come and that I will always be a part of it as a member in some form or another.

Okay, my turn.

1. Why did you join BB?

Um, I think it was around May of 2005. Ignore what my stats say...I was a causality of The Great Deletion of 2006. I was a member of another forum first. That place was getting a little stifling. We weren't allowed sigs or AV's, the Mods were on a MAJOR power trip, and would edit their own and other peoples posts to make it look like the members were attacking them and banning them. The last straw came when a member was infracted for quoting an Angel quote in a thread. I had to get out. This was the first place I found when I searched for Buffy Forums on Google.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

I was a member of CoA.


3. Your best BB moment?

I have SO many. B's April Fools in 2006, when she told us that the Deletions weren't caused by a server crash, and that she deleted the people she didn't like. Being asked to be a Mod, and then following on from that, head Mod. Being nominated as Merrick's Prefect after only 6 months here. April Fools when Kean took over the boards. Winning the art award at this years Buffies. Meeting and making so many great friends here. I'm not going to name names, but I hope that they know who they are.


4. Your worst BB moment?

Bringing a certain member to this board. That is something I will never forgive myself for. And the reasons behind mine and Kean's departure from the boards. I won't go into the details, but the reasons and circumstances behind that decision to step back will always be something I wish had happened differently.


5. Your first impression of BB?

I thought it was extremely will organized and maintained, compared to the other site I was on. It seemed so much more professional.

6. Your impression of BB now?

I still think the same. I think this is one of, if not THE best fanforum on the net.


7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

Yes. I know what goes on 'backstage' now. I know how hard to Mods and Admins work to keep this place running smoothly. It's a lot more work than people give them credit for.

I was finally watching the rest of Buffy and Angel online, and felt the urge to share my opinions LOL in the end, I mostly read other people opinions, but that´s how a lurker share 😀

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Not that I remember.. I think the last board before here was a Charmed one here in Brazil.

3. Your best BB moment?
Right after I joined. I was so amazingly happy with everything and everyone... It was so good looking the board, and I could use sigs again... TK was great. It was a great feeling, the first like, 6 months.

4. Your worst BB moment?
I left the board for a while cause I left my job so couldn´t be here as much I was used to... and then PUFF, I came back and EVERYTHING was changed, was packed with rules and tenses moods... people I used to talk wasn´t here anymore... it was an awful feeling.

5. Your first impression of BB?
The firs FIRST was like Kean "ohhhh another dead board, hunf", the second firt impression was "here is so pretty, I love the layout"

6. Your impression of BB now?
I still think things are pretty lol But the mood is different and I feel beyond outsider.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I think the boards changed more than me... I was always this cranky lol

Angelic Slayer is the queen LOL Even when I´m lurking, or not logging, I come here to see her work. Also, she is sympathetic and sweet *_*

1. Why did you join BB? A lot of kids grew up watching Buffy in my town, but that number dropped really badly after Season 3. So, I needed to find a place to talk to people aboutBuffy, and here I am like 6 years later.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first? Nope! This one was good enough.

3. Your best BB moment? I won an award really long ago. I think it was an award for best fic writer? I don't remember...Is that terrible? All I know is a lot of what I wrote back then was crap so yall are generous! lol

4. Your worst BB moment? Um...I've been in a couple arguements on here before and had some bad interactions wit our own personal voldemort (that member which should not be named) but that's about it.

5. Your first impression of BB? There were so many great people when I first joined. killerdwarf, jenny, jacklyn, anna8, magui, billiehunter, angelsbaby, blake, elmo? It was really fun to talk about all sorts of stuff, even unrelated Buffy stuff.

6. Your impression of BB now? There's definitely a stricter environment here now than before. But, I think that's what certain members have brought on the place instead of a reflection of the board itself. Have to admit, I do feel like I don't really know anymore on here so I mostly lurk and will post occasionally now.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined? Didn't I say this above??

8. Anything else? The chicken tacos I just made are bangin!

What the hey, I'll answer them too (procrastination is a terrific motivator):

1. Why did you join BB?

I had left the Buffy board I was a mod on and an admin who had also left wanted to do a new board and asked me to go in on it with him. And then he left. lol

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

I was a member of one board but as the (new) owner was a paranoid psycho, I left.

3. Your best BB moment?

Re-organizing the board with Faith, edb and FunkyMunky. That was when we really started doing more here than just regular discussion threads. Oh and the Jimmy Choo thing at the Awards, that was fun.

4. Your worst BB moment?

When the board stopped being fun, and I didn't want to log on. Realizing I couldn't "fix" problems by talking them out anymore. Having to make the rules stricter. That's certainly not how I want to spend my time. Oh, and seeing the staff's hard work stolen by other sites. It makes you think, "What's the point?"

5. Your first impression of BB?

It was too simple for me in the beginning lol. Four basic color schemes. Which is odd because generally I like cleaner, more streamlined sites.

6. Your impression of BB now?

I'm proud of all the customizations we have that make us unique, and all the extra activities we have going on.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?


Yes, because I have more work to do now than I did before, there are more things to worry about. It's less about watching the show and having fun and more about making sure other people are watching the show and having fun.

I hate that so many people I've been close with aren't around as much anymore.

1. Why did you join BB?

I was a huge fan of Buffy and Angel. The comics had just started being released and I wanted to know what was happening in season 8. I started off reading season 8 recaps as a visitor, started snooping around other threads soon after, and then I joined.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

No. I googled Buffy season 8 recap, and Buffy boards was the first I clicked.

3. Your best BB moment?

Not sure really. I liked staying up really late having very random, funny conversations. That's when visitor messages were still around. I miss them.

4. Your worst BB moment?

The reveal that some of the people I was closest to were bullies. I don't like bullies. Lot's of fights, people upset and a very tense feeling on the boards and lot's of conflicting thoughts. Then I left. When I came back I heard that a friend was someone entirely different than I thought.

5. Your first impression of BB?

Very open and friendly, and there was so much to do. It was a nice escape from real-life drama.

6. Your impression of BB now?

it's still fun, but some tension still remains I think, but that's to be expected.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

It's still fun, but I don't think it's quite as open as it used to be. I think some people on here avoid talking to me because of friendships I made on here, with the " bad group", but that's cool. Also some info I shared in " an honesty thread " I think made people dis-like me, but I was in a weird place in my life back then, I think I'm good now. 😀

8. Anything else?

I like how hard the staff and members work to keep this place going. It's always fresh, interesting and fun. And when things get bad, the forums rallies around each other. I like that.

My interest in BtVS got re-kindled by season 8, and I went looking for somewhere to discuss it and found this place.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

BB was the first. A couple months later I joined another, but it's only those two sites I post on. (I read Whedonesque, but they won't let anyone new join. :frown3: )

3. Your best BB moment?

Oh, there have been a few. Getting New Member of the Month. The Buffy's Birthday Ficathon was fun and resulted in two of my favorite stories that I've written. Winning 2 awards at the most recent Buffies despite not being so great with my participation these last few months.

4. Your worst BB moment?

The Great Unpleasantness of 2009. People I liked leaving the board, then more people (some of whom I liked) getting banned, and the board shutting down temporarily. The worst of it was that I don't really hang out in Facebook or the chat threads where all the drama was happening, so I had no idea why everyone was so upset. (And still don't, really.)

5. Your first impression of BB?

A fun place with a nice sense of community.

6. Your impression of BB now?

Pretty much similar.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

Not so much. The landscape has changed a little bit.

I remember being a lurker for sometime, though I wasn't a legit lurker because I didn't know how forums really operated. I was completely clueless at first.

At other regular websites yes, but not other forums.

3. Your best BB moment?

Becoming New Member of the Month. I almost cried. 🙂

4. Your worst BB moment?

Unfortunately I joined right before the Dark Ages started, so naturally it was a shock. I was beginning to form new relationships and then some were banned or left. It took its toll and I left for a while, although I told others it was for another reason.

5. Your first impression of BB?

Amazed. After I grasped how it worked, I loved it! The houses, the people, the discussions! 🙂

6. Your impression of BB now?

I've told Buffy about this in a PM, but I'm really appreciative of how well they cleaned the boards up. The staff got rid of all the hostility and I absolutely love it now.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

When I first joined I didn't take the internet too seriously, now BB has shown me that you can make new friends and relationships and physical contact isn't always needed. So, my perception has done a complete 360. 🙂

I was talking to my friend one night on msn and we were talking about how we wish we were old enough to go to Buffy conventions when they were around and how now all you can do is go to a normal sci-fi convention and if you are lucky you may get two cast members :/ anyways and after talking about this for hours i was saying how i hate not having people to talk to Buffy about and so she recommended this place to me 🙂

Nope

3. Your best BB moment?
Buffy Boards Big Brother! I had an amazing time doing that i really did. I got to know Flannen more through that which makes me smile as she is a really nice person 🙂
It's something i will not forget.

Just when people were arguing and i was getting dragged into it all, didn't enjoy it and felt really bad because of it all.

I loved it when i first joined, so many nice, friendly people, made me feel really comfortable and at home.

Still the same, i have missed being here as much as i used to but i still love it just as much.

1. Why did you join BB?
Cause I missed having a cool online community to belong to. Once I belonged to a Buffy board that shut down and it was so hard to say goodbye to all those wonderful people. I wanted to see if it was possible to get such a good feeling about a board again.

I googled around for a bit but BB was one of the first that popped up and it was very visually pleasing 🙂

3. Your best BB moment?
not sure, suddenly realizing I had become addicted perhaps 🙂 Or being invited to become a staff memember, I didn't see that coming.

4. Your worst BB moment?
When it felt like the whole board had turned into a battle ship zone, kind of made me want to wash my hands of it all. Thank god for the shipper's forums now.

5. Your first impression of BB?
I was a little overwhelmed. There was so much to get into and catch up on.

It's a wonderful place most of the time with great people

Well it's not as overwhelming anymore

I like the work and efforts that go into this place from all sides. I think it's a very nice site to visit due to that. Oh and I love that the love for Buffy and the Whedonverse still is so strong

1. Why did you join BB?
It took me a long while to get into the Buffy and Angel shows. I had seen the atrocious movie version with Kristy Swanson and wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with the series when it premiered.
My kid bro felt the same way, but his girlfriend convinced him to watch a few eppies, and he was hooked. He in turn convinced me to give the show a chance.
At first I watched sporadically, taking in an episode here and there, then going entire weeks without watching it. When I came back to it, it was around the time of "Becoming parts 1 and 2", and I couldn't understand a thing because I hadn't been watching. But what really finally hooked me into watching the series regularly was the episode "Superstar". Again I had been only watching sporadically, and came back right on THAT episode, and I saw the opening credits and thinking "What the eff is going on? Who the hell is THIS guy? Why is he hogging the credits??? Is Buffy dead or something?? So I decided I didn't wanna be confused anymore and came online to look for a place where I could get some Buffy info, and get everything straight so that I could begin buying up the season DVDs and start the show fresh from the beginning. This website was actually the second Buffy-centric site I checked. It looked well-kept, and chock full of forums, unlike the rather skeletal remains of the first site I came upon. This place had everything I needed, and thus I stayed. Didn't feel the need to look at any other sites. The rest, as they say, is history.......

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
See above.

3. Your best BB moment?
Being asked to join the Staff. A validating BB honor if ever there were any (which there are. 😛) A close second would be the three *Storyteller* awards I've won over the years on the Buffies for my fic-writing. They liked me...they really liked me....!

4. Your worst BB moment?
There have been minor episodes of ass-hattery on this site over the years, but that whole nonsense last year where members went to war with us takes the absolute cake. It goes down in the annals of BB history as a very nasty business.

5. Your first impression of BB?
What an excellent array of info! I love it! It took me a few days to find that the members here were a hoot as well.

6. Your impression of BB now?
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!! Nooooo, I kid, I kid. 😛

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
No perception of anything in life is ever the same as your first encounter. But in the case of this site....well....it's like a favorite leather jacket. No matter how long you've had it, it still looks great. It's a part of you...your persona. You couldn't bear to part with it. I'm sure that only makes sense to me.......😛

Well I say......**puts on a pair of dark shades**.......BB rocks.

1. Why did you join BB?
I was doing a massive rewatch, and borrowed my housemates laptop to look up Buffy forums. Took me a good 6 months of lurking before I had the courage to actually sign up though! I think I had wanted to comment on a thread about Giles.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Yeah I looked at a few different sites, but this was the most impressive. I had never joined a forum before so I figured this one had the best layout and from my lurking - the most helpful members.

3. Your best BB moment?
I don't think I really have one.

4. Your worst BB moment?
I had been a member of the BB's for a long time before I started to make friends. Just after that happened half of them got banned and the other half left. I wanted to take some time off cause I felt so secluded and alone, whereas everyone else seemed to still have their own cliques around. It was a shitty, shitty time.

5. Your first impression of BB?
So many smart people - I'm never going to have the bravery to post! Then when I joined up it was - Wow, all these people seem really close to each other.

6. Your impression of BB now?
It's just another forum like any other - it's always going to have its ups and downs depending on who is here.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
So much has changed. Some people I had respect for at the start I no longer do.

8. Anything else?
The best thing I can say that I have taken away from BB was the idea of fanart. I then learnt to make my own banners and walls by self teaching myself photoshop and now I can't imagine life without photoshopping!

Because I'd been watching Buffy, and having already joined, made friends and had a tonne of fun on a Heroes forum, I decided that it would be good to find a Buffy one where I could talk about and hear others' opinions on my latest obsession. I joined up immediately.

Nope. I typed 'Buffy forum' into google and the first link that came up was BB.
3. Your best BB moment?
Being adopted by my daddy Zalos! 🙂

That it's a very lively, interesting and friendly environment. Everyone here is so nice!

Well, I only joined a month ago, if that, so...

I just decided i've been here long enough to answer these lol

1. Why did you join BB?

Same reason anyone else joins BB, because my friends were sick of me talking about Buffy lol

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

Yes I did. In the end I didn't join any. Forgot about it for a while, and then came here 🙂

3. Your best BB moment?

I won member of the month for July and was asked to do an interview for the Newbie section of the newsletter

4. Your worst BB moment?

I witnessed a debate go a little too far and someone's feelings got hurt. In the end they put it past eachother 🙂

5. Your first impression of BB?

This place is huge!!! too many people that know way too much about Buffy. They probably know way too much about it lol

6. Your impression of BB now?

I am addicted. lol

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

Yes. At first I thought there were cliques and stuff but I realize now that people are just awesomely friendly to one-another

8. Anything else?
My main goal....bring in more Tara lovers! we must keep her alive people!! 😛
