Your BB experience: When you first joined

1. Why did you join BB?
Because I like mbs for one. I am into shows Buffy and Angel and have no one close to me that is into it like I am or who wants to talk about it or hear about it for that matter.
2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

No. I was just looking for a Btvs/Ats site not knowing if I would find one and I googled "Buffy/Angel forums" this was the first website it seemed right so I joined.
3. Your best BB moment?

When I found my way with the help of another poster, I won't mention a name in case I mention the wrong person, on how to get there. And my first rep point which gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. 🙂
4. Your worst BB moment?

Not worth talking about.:embaresse. Have put it behind me.
5. Your first impression of BB?

Friendly place and somewhere I could enjoy hanging out. I liked the layout and that it didn't seem too complicated to figure out. Once I was acquainted with the drop down menus and where they would take me I felt right at home.
6. Your impression of BB now?

Still the same friendly place with a new look that makes me love it all the more. Becoming more popular all the time; seems there is new member everytime I log on. lol
7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

It hasn't.
8. Anything else?


I am pre-viewing my posts now before finalizing them because I was editing too much and sometimes missing the editing deadline entirely. I get stuck. I enjoy posting here and appreciate the work of the staff and am grateful for the experience. 😀 lol

Lyri told me about this other forum that was loads better than the one I had originally joined and met her on, so like a good little puppy dog I followed her over here.

My faves include winning Merrick Member of the Month and Merrick's own mystery murder where I was decapitated....good times.

Woah, this place is massive. There's no way I'll be able to find my way around.

6. Your impression of BB now?

Much more homey-er than I could have ever imagined at first.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

It's hard to say, I've been here for 3 or 4 or 5 years now (gotta go check that, I can't remember how long), off and on. I leave for a few months at a time, and come back, and it's always here. Although I wish I saw a certain few people on here more. It's not nearly as vibrant and shiny as it was to me at first because of some of the things that have taken place, but it's still BB and always will be.....

1. Why did you join BB?

I've been a big fan of Buffy for years but never managed to find a proper Buffy forum online before, so when I found this place I joined up right away.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

None.

3. Your best BB moment?

I'm not sure, meeting all the friends I've made here, the IRC nights, the episode watchthroughs, being sorted and so on.

4. Your worst BB moment?

I wasn't here for nearly all of 2009 (badness of my own) so I missed whatever it was that went on. There have been several bad moments though but nevermind.

5. Your first impression of BB?

The size of the place, and the sheer number of people, who complicated the forums where etc

6. Your impression of BB now?

I'm not around enough to give one really.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

I haven't been here constantly so it tends to change in my absense anyway, its a real community through and through and has changed with the times.

So some other people who have been here about as long as I have have posted here... so I think I can too... I'll probably come back and do it again after I've been here for a bit longer.


1. Why did you join BB?
I was in the market for a good Buffy forum and I typed "Buffy forum" on google and clicked here. I was so impressed by the organization and detailed rules list that I decided to join.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
I guess you could say I looked at the IMDb Buffy board first... but oh my god... those people... I was a newbie to the show and the board so I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to start new thread... I needed a push. The only threads they had were either OT or things like "Angel V. Spike" or "Spuffy V. Bangel" and I was like can't we have more legit conversation on here? They were rude, so I left. (Interestingly enough, they call themselves Buffyboarders and said I would never be one.)

3. Your best BB moment?
Oh goodness. I think joining VH was a pretty good moment. I wouldn't trade that for the world!

4. Your worst BB moment?
I got an infraction. I accidentally posted something twice... What happened was I posted something and it was removed by a mod... but I didn't get notification that it was removed... so I thought I didn't click post. So I posted it again and then I got an infraction of 300 pts for disobeying the mods... Sad sad moment I have to be reminded up every time I go to my User CP. I totally didn't mean to do that!

5. Your first impression of BB?
My god this place is big and complicated and everyone knows what they're doing.

6. Your impression of BB now?
I still think it's big... It's not complicated anymore and everyone still knows what they're doing. I love it.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
It hasn't. It was a fun place for Buffy fans to hang out online and it still is.

8. Anything else?
I love this place and I'm so glad I joined it. I was needing a board with a clear rules list and order. The other board I'm a member of (Taylor Connect) has no order whatsoever. And I've been asking for a rules list since January and the mods reason for not giving it to me is "It's too much work." They also refuse to message you if something you post is hidden, mergerd, or altered. I love BB. Runs so well. And the people here are so nice. I love all of you!

I used to check different BtVS websites that listed the episodes, quotes and so on... And then somehow I think I found a link to a post from someone on BB on one of these sites. I followed the link and got here. I started reading a lot for like three weeks. Then afterward I pondered if I should actually join and start being part of it 🙂 I finally decided to do it and made my introduction thread!

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

If by site you mean board/forum, no I didn't. This was the first I found and since then I've seen others but they never came close to BB 😀 I like the peoples here and just the whole family vibe.

3. Your best BB moment?

Getting a group together to participate in BB's GOT TALENT! It was annoying sometimes and it took forever to find a few of the peoples but I thought our first group song 'Walk Through The Fire' was awesome for something we had done with all of us living around the world and pretty much shitty mics. Not only that, but Jenn composed the whole music track from scratch! My best memory.

4. Your worst BB moment?

I don't think I've had a 'worst moment' yet. I wasn't posting much for a while but that was mostly because I was very busy irl. I don't have any bad memories about this place 🙂

5. Your first impression of BB?

VERY friendly place. I thought it was like the nicest forum I had seen for like a decade, lol.

6. Your impression of BB now?

Still as friendly and awesome. I've made many friends here and from those friends I've made new ones and so on. I still congratulate myself on deciding to join! Also all this wouldn't have been possible without the work of all the mods and admins, particularily Darla, so thanks to all of you 😀 Keep it up!!!!!!! 😎

1. Why did you join BB?

Cause I had picked up playing Chaos Bleeds again and was stuck on the freaking Initiative level so I googled for help & one of the web page results was from BB, that got me browsing through the rest of the board and it seemed cool so I registered. Still never made it past that level (FML) But 2 years later I'm still here 🙂

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

Way back a long time ago when I was hardcore in the midst of re-watching Buffy cause i'd just gotten the DVD's I started posting and frequenting the Buffy IMDb forum which was NUTSO. Then I joined a forum one of the IMDb-ers created, then created my own with a couple of friends, then that died off as did my interest for frequenting internet forums. But when I stumbled upon BB which is so full of awesome all that changed and I became hooked once again.


3. Your best BB moment?

Its pretty much all been filled with goodness. One of the best was when I got Member of the Month a couple of months after joining... also being asked to answer some questions to contribute to the newsletter, and really just the awesome interactions I'm able to have with the members I've become close with 🙂

4. Your worst BB moment?

Like many others have said, there was some drama a while back that completely took over the boards. I wasn't part of the drama but it was still impossible to not feel the tension. Visiting the boards became less fun and more uncomfortable & I really felt for the staff at that time. Glad thats all over 🙂

5. Your first impression of BB?

Impressed was my first impression. It was the most thorough fan forum I'd ever seen.

6. Your impression of BB now?

Still impressed 🙂 Just when you think there's nothing that could possible be improved on they pull something awesome from under their sleeves. I really appreciate all the hard work. Sometimes life gets busy and I'm not as active or even absent all together, but it speaks of the site that I always come back.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

It really hasn't. There have been ups and downs and periods of more or less activity, but I remain loyal & happy with BB.

8. Anything else?

I hope the day never comes that BB isn't here cause I can absolutely see myself 70 years old, of course loving all things Whedon as much as ever, and jonesing to log in here :biggrin:

And OMG - The friggen Initiative level! I can't get past it either! And it's so friggen frustrating that you can't just redo the boss fight and have to go back to the very start of the level. Oh dear, I'm totally going home to try it again tonight!
