Your best ever gig?

Did anyone get to a Billy Idol gig?

Did you shout, 'Go for it Spike'

I was at a Billy Idol gig this summer. It was really great, I got my ticket signed 🙂 But the crowd was quite lame. Pity. The musicians, however, were absolutely top-notch. But I'm not quite sure if they need a second guitarist when they have Steve Stevens.
Oh, and I didn't shout 'Go for it Spike' 😉

Gah! So jealous. I love Billy Idol!
Britney's Circus tour was one of the best nights of my life.

I also saw Kelly Clarkson once & loved it so much 😀

Did you go see the Femme Fatale show too?
Depends whether it's a gig or a festival.

Gigwise I'd have to say either Jonsi or one of the times I've seen Frank Turner. I was fresh off a break up and that gig got me back to where I needed to be. Jonsi was right before I left for university the first time, hit just the right bittersweet note that summed up how I felt about leaving the place. Jonsi's voice is magic.

Festivalwise, it's Elbow. I was a fan but not massively before I saw them but there's something about a sunset slot set that just sends shivers down your spine. That 45 minutes was so perfect it made me cry actual tears of joy. Hell even the band teared up at one point, the connection with the audience was intense for such a huge crowd. Being in a field with your favourite people and an amazing band while the sun goes down is just amazing.

I know what you mean, U2's concert, they one that was filmed, Under A Blood Red Sky, that was great.
I'd have to say Russian Circles. They're an american instrumental-progressive-post-metal trio who simply rocks the ****ing shit out of me. Guitarist is amazing (better live than in studio). I mean he just nails all notes, expands the sound, creates loops as he plays (ultimately having like 2-3 loops on at the same time). The bass is on heavy distorition just like it should be. And the drummer. oh the drummer. Probably (in my opinion) the best drummer out there (excepting Math-rock drummers). His technique is just amazing, I've never seen anything like it. Someone said he looked like Jesus while playing, and I agree. There's something holy about him. Everything they do in the studio they do twice as good on stage. What added to the effect was that they played in a small place in front of a crowd of like 60-70 people. After the show, they shook hands with people at the front and you could basically just walk up and talk to them. Afterwards they moved around the crowd and signed shirts and albums.

Sacrifice, no I didn't get to go to the Femme Fatale Tour 🙁

I wanted to but the day she was going to be close to me, I had start trade school. I definitely won't miss her next one though!

I saw Fiona Apple recently and she blew me the frick away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(but also, I'm a huge fan)

A surprise WOW was when I saw War - awhile ago.... (the guys who sing "low rider") they freaking ROCKED it!!!!!!!

Ohhh, I would LOVE to see Fiona! But she like never comes to Australia! :(
Without a doubt: Robbie Williams. His '06 tour was amazing. The atmosphere inside the stadium was intense.

I'm going to give a shout out to the JM concert I went to a couple of weeks ago. James + guitar = perfection.

It's hard to pick a specific gig as I've seen them about 30 times but my favourite band, both live and recorded, is Fairport Convention. If I were pushed for an answer I would probably say their 40th Anniversary gig in 2007.

My other favourite live band is Bellowhead, who I've seen on 3 occasions and they've been phenomenal every time 😀

Yesterday, I was in Munich for Motörhead & Anthrax. It was freaking amazing! It was my 6th Motörhead gig and my first Anthrax gig. Both bands kicked ass!
I was in the pit pretty much the whole time and already after the first Anthrax song I thought I was gonna die 😀 I was so exhausted. Unbelievable.
But I survived and it was excellent! 🙂

EDIT: Oh, and I got Anthrax' bass player Frank Bello's pick 🙂
