Im 14, and dont have a job yet. I was a paper boy, but i quit. I was wiondering, what the older members do for a job and the youngers memebers, what are your ambitions for a job?
I feel i should be either focusing on being a psycologist or a graphic designer.

i am in the wine industry!!
i am a manager of an off-licence and also work at head office on a project development team.
I am doing a diploma in wines and spirits and hope to sell/make wines in maybe New Zealand one day.

I'm in my final year of our version of High School, I think I'll go to University, but I don't know which, and I'm not sure about what I want to study, I'd love to be a director/writer/producer or actor someday, but who doesn't?

I run my partners electrical wholesale business and I absolutely hate it. It's not what I wanted to do at all. I would like to do something to do with children as I have my NVQ 3 in childcare, perhaps something to do with social services.

I'm also 14 and i have a paperround with my friend, and i'm not sertan on wat i want to do when i grow up but something that i get a lot of money!!!!! (LOL)

I'm currently taking a year out from my law degree. Done 3 years so far and working in the fraud department of a bank until I got back in October for my honours year.

Im 15, i do a paper round!!! I get £56 for doing 250 papers!!!
I think thats alrite for now but for the future I would like to earn alot more than that, I want to go into hotel + catering or travel + tourism!

I wanna be in the showbiz industry with the stars. I'd either want to be musician (cause I play the guitar) or be a talent spotting person or be a script writer for the biggest tean shows. If I would want to stretch my limits, I'd become a lawyer cause I'm fascinated with the whole thing and I know I definately want to study Philosophy @ University. Even though I'm 13, I've got big hopes for the future.

OH MY GOD! £56? Jesus Mary and Joseph. I got £8 a week, can your employer be my employer?

When I was in high school, all I really knew is that I wanted to be a "specialist" in something. Since I was good at math, I figured it should be something "technical". (Translation: I wanted to be the geek in the corner. 🙂)

In college, however, I discovered I was as interested in most of the my elective subjects (history, art, psychology) as I was in the computer courses everyone was pushing on me so that I could get a job when I graduated.

I ended up with a mostly liberal arts degree with just enough computer skills to be a technical writer (which are apparently hard to train and keep because most technoids hate writing documentation and most people who write clearly don't have a strong enough computer background for the job).

It's worked out well for me because the pay is reasonably good, but I can leave my work behind me when I go home at the end of the day. (There was also a fair amount of soul-searching, career counseling, and going through the want-ads involved to get the job in the first place.)

I'm a Diplomat, currently posted to the British High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria. I'm what they call a Vice Consul, which basically means getting any Brits out of trouble when they get arrested, robbed etc. It wasn't a career I looked for, I just sort of fell into it and liked doing it.

You and me needs to have a talk as thats the sort of stuff I would like to get into.

I've heard their social events raise the roof 😉

I'm at Uni doin a BA in Film and Television studies. I'm in my second year and I love it. The first year was very theoretical but this year is more practical like making our own short films and we also learn studio production first hand.
The opther module I love is Screenwriting. I'm a little bit worried cause it feels like every idea I come up with has already been done and I can never find new angles but I'm trying.

I wanna direct and write my own feature films or series one day. That would be my ultimate but if it doesn't work out there's always Blockbuster!!

Well, I'm 15 (almost 16), and most of my friends know exactly what they want to be. For example, my twin sister wants to be a pediatric oncologist, my other friend wants to be Emergency Room doctor, another friend wants to be a lawyer, and I doubt any of them are going to change their majors. Me, I'm have no idea what I want to do, but at the moment, I'm leaning towards journalism because it's the only thing I'm interested in. That or just marry someone rich.🙂

Don't worry, FiveByFiveB. College is where you're supposed *find out* what you want to do. It certainly was an eye-opener for me.

(As for your friends, getting into med. school or law school can be a pretty rough gig. They may change their minds yet.)

Does everybody want this? We need to have a chat btw!

Well my sister's got a grade point average of 107, all honors classes, extra curricular activities coming out her ears, and I have no doubt that her SAT scores are going to be topnotch when we take them next year. She's going places, and kudos to her for that. But I'm not so worried. Well, yeah, compared to her I'm a lazy bum, but wherever I end up, I'm sure to love my career because I won't let myself accept anything else.

Thanks for the reassurance, though, 'cause I always figured college would "clear a path" for me. Plus, I look forward to going; anything's better than high school.
